We had a wonderful stay in the tiny house (duplex) and really enjoyed every moment of it. Everything is very well thought out and beautifully designed. There are many nice options for breakfast. As we usually don’t eat breakfast (except for coffee), they always kindly prepared eggs for us to eat later, as well as some fruits, milk, etc. We also forgot something in our room. It wasn’t anything important, but they went out of their way to contact us about it. Every time we came back to the hotel, they brought us fresh-cut fruit and tea, which we really appreciated. They picked us up at the train station when we arrived, suggested taking us to the main entrance of Mingsha Mountain, and arranged a taxi to the train station two hours away, where we had to catch our train. We even made a mistake with the train time, and although we had no common language, they managed to understand where we were and came to pick us up so that we could leave with the taxi! They even stopped on the way back to treat us to some delicious local sandwiches. We are sorry that one evening we came back so late that we had to wake them up! We would definitely come back. Everything was perfect, we even extended one more night because two were not enough, and we felt so well taken care of! (We even received a lovely message to wish us a nice trip after leaviing!) many thanks !!!!

We had such a fabulous time at this homestay. The family welcomed us as one of them and drove us several places for our convenience and recreation. It is very modern and sparkling clean. They made us breakfast when we wanted to get up instead of a set time and even served us dinner the day we arrived when we had not had a chance to eat yet. They took very good care of us. We loved them, and have invited them to come to the United States to visit us! We highly recommend this Homestay. Also, be sure and visit Mingshah Mountain and Yunnan pass while you are in Dunhuang.

不得不説，這家民宿服務是真心好，不論是老闆還是打掃衞生的阿姨，或者接待的小哥，看到車過來趕緊出門迎接，搬行李。真的太貼心了。店裡還免費提供咖啡，對於我們每天不先喝咖啡就醒不了的人來説，這簡直是救命良葯。店裡還提供一些服裝免費穿，民宿裏也是超級出片，適合拍拍拍一下午，從老闆那得知，一樓都是標間，二樓都是大床，二樓的房間全部自帶一個超級大的露台，上去看了下，露台可以直接看到鳴沙山。值得推薦的一家店哦，集美們沖！！！

My journey began with a incredibly gracious complimentary pick-up from Dunhuang airport, which immediately eased any travel fatigue. The hospitality only blossomed from there. The host family provided me with such genuine individual attention, offering personalized advice for visiting the breathtaking Crescent Moon Lake and the awe-inspiring Mogao Grottoes. Their tips were invaluable and helped me experience these wonders to the fullest. Now, the food! Each meal was a delight—authentic, home-cooked, and prepared fresh with so much care. It was truly delicious and gave me a real taste of local cuisine. My room was a haven of comfort and cleanliness, kept absolutely spotless throughout my stay. A wonderful daily touch was the replenishment of complimentary beverages: refreshing peach tea, pure water, and delicious coconut water—perfect after a day of exploring the desert. The most touching moment came upon my departure when the hosts presented me with exquisite souvenirs from the Mogao Grottoes. Overall, I'm giving this hotel five stars, but it's not for everyone. This place is for people seeking a slice of life...It promotes a slow pace and to really understand the hotels value you need to actually spend time there. Also looks really ideal of families - lots of area for kids to roam without getting into trouble. If you just want a bed to crash in while spending most of your time outside, don't stay here. Also if you want the most Instagrammable hotel around? Yes, book it. Pros: Amazing view, super peaceful. The layout feels like a camp you walk out and you're right in the common area, easy to relax. I came back late one night and heard absolutely nothing for a long time. Service is genuinely 5-star; they really care about your experience. Some previous reviews mentioned they staff attitude is bad - I confirm this is either fixed or incorrect. Maybe I don't expect people to pamper me 24/7. There are plenty of staff and if you chat to them or make a request they will 100% help. Rooms are cleaned well. Some previous reviews said the aircon was bad, but mine worked great, and hot water never ran out, temperature is easy to control. Also, people said no food delivery - wrong. I got delivery even during a sandstorm, no issues. Taxis and Didi come to the hotel fine, about 12 kuai from the center. Cons: The bathroom is extremely small. If you're over 177cm / 73kg or have a broad build, I can't recommend you stay here. I kept bumping into walls, and the shower curtain stuck to my skin mid-shower – my biggest letdown. The room gets hot, stuffy, and smelly if you turn the aircon off during summer days. I made that mistake once. I'd suggest the hotel install sensors to manage temperature or air out rooms when guests are out. Breakfast is simple – looks and tastes fine, but gets repetitive and you can't choose from a menu.

I loved the Courtyard B&B. The rural but very chic style. My room was generous, furnishing in the same traditional style. Clean throughout The reception area very attractive and provides nice secluded spaces for relaxing- working in my case) under Bamboo trees and mandala decorated glasses of the ceiling. Very peaceful. I very much appreciated the presence of a kittens with mum and a little doggie which I perceived like mascotte of the place. They were very well maintained and cared of. The stuff is very nice and helpful and we were able to understand each others in some way. I highly recommend this accomodation both for holiday and work.

We arrived at the accommodation when it was raining heavily. There were a lot of leaks from the roof, when we entered the room we simply saw that the mattress was completely wet as a result of the leak. We then moved to another room where there was a leak in the bathroom as well as a lot of dirt, including in the toilet. In the meantime, the girl at the desk honored us with a very tasty local watermelon. She apologized for the situation and moved us to another room. The next room was a huge room, I think it was their suite. The room itself was really comfortable and large, but it was simply full of spiders and cobwebs. We decided that we would still stay in the room despite its poor maintenance. They cleaned the room for us a little, but it didn't help, but we had no more strength to complain. We cleaned it ourselves so that the stay would be reasonable. It should be noted that the place only has a solar water heater, so on cloudy and rainy days there will be no hot water as happened to us on the day of arrival. We asked the staff in the evening for tomatoes and onions and they happily gave us them free of charge. This is noteworthy and thank you for that. It should be noted that the Didi does not always arrive at the accommodation location, they offer a paid shuttle, which is convenient. On the second day we went out to the dunes at sunrise, the guy at the desk insisted that we would be cold and gave us some kind of sand socks. Only when we returned did we realize that it was actually a fee of 20 for both of us (just like on the website, and much more than supermarkets in the area). We did not understand why we were not told that it was a fee, plus it looked used and did not come in a plastic wrap. Apart from this incident, the staff was nice and helped us with the shuttle (for a fee). The breakfast was great, and they tried to help us according to our vegetarianism. We wanted to extend our stay after cleaning the room ourselves and it was decent and good, but the price was high for us, which is perfectly fine and reasonable on their part, and we decided to leave.
