We just had a very nice two-night stay here while visiting all the diaolou of the area. The location is excellent, about 2km from Zili and walking distance to Li Yuan. Other diaolou clusters are 10-20 mins away. The service was friendly and so helpful during our whole visit. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We enjoyed beef noodles and tea eggs for breakfast the first day and then a simple buffet breakfast the second day of congee, sweet potatoes, noodles, corn. The room was really nice, very high tech and comfortable. The beds were a little hard for us. That was the only negative. We loved the outdoor space with lots of room to hang out during the day and evening. Overall, an excellent stay in Kaiping.

A hidden gem. I don't even want to share this review to make this hotel too popular! As a person who doesn't speak very good Chinese, the staff at this hotel were very accommodating despite the language barrier. When you first arrive at the hotel, you are greeted by a creative garden complete with outdoor dining areas, swings, a fish tank, and more. On check in, the receptionist was very attentive to all of my questions and directed me to the places I asked about through wechat. It was very easy to follow the directions. I was also offered a spread of fresh fruit to enjoy before settling in my room. The room was spacious and clean and had the most advanced toilet that I have ever used! There was a wide open window for a beautiful view of the dialou across the pond. The suite of amenities was also much appreciated, including snacks, toiletries, and slippers. A highlight of this hotel is the breakfast. They not only provide the standard Chinese breakfast fare such as porridge and pastries, but also served local kaiping specialties. They also have food you can order off of a menu but I didn't have anything during my stay. Upon checkout I was also given a goodie bag filled with local specialties and treats which was much appreciated!

TSINGPLE Hotel is in Kaiping City centre next to Vanguard shopping centre and conveniently located. Abundance of restaurants and coffee shops all within walking distance and also close to a river. Hotel services are great with good amenities such as breakfast buffet and many small items in the lobby free of charge such as candies bandages eye glasses cleaning tissue paper. Free laundry with detergent. Some rooms have smoking smells recommend hotel to have some nonsmoking rooms.

This is a beautiful homestay in the middle of an ancient village and close to the main road. If you do not want to walk, they have a rental bike. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although they speak little English, Google Translate has helped. They serve a beautiful table service breakfast. Like most farm homestays in China. They do not have a restaurant. But there is a big one in the next village, and it is walkable. Otherwise, the main square will be 10 minutes away by (DiDI) taxi. The homestay is a renovated Diaolou built over 100 years ago. The stairs were shallow and steep because it is the originals. You can read about their beautiful and extraordinary transformation on the wall of the beautiful Lobby. The room was beautifully furnished, and the A/C and WiFi work beautifully, especially in Southern China. The humidity could be unbearable, which is a big plus. The shower was large and clean, with plenty of hot water. There were also a lot of outside areas. Some rooms also include a private patio and balcony. The amenities were first class: a very comfortable bed and fresh sheets. I highly recommend this place to stay if you want to visit Kaiping. I will be back again. Book fast. I am sure most travelers will find out about this gem soon.

Rooms were tidy, no soap, Smokey rooms, couldn’t stay, departed for another hotel

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for about a week after she had fallen Ill. Thanks to the incredible and kind staff, my wife and I pulled through this tough time as foreigners in China. They helped us with our visits to the hospital, helped my wife get everything she needed to get better and were always available, even late at night. The Kaiping Tagin Hotel is also great if you're not sick at all. The hotel is very clean and safe with spacious and modern rooms. It is in a beautiful location with great views and many things to do nearby like walking paths, watchtowers, coffee shops and many historical sights only a bike ride away. Breakfast and dinner food are varied and delicious. I only wish I could give a higher rating!

We had a wonderful stay at the ChaoQi Hotel. After a smooth check-in, a convenient cart picked us up and brought us directly to our room door. The location is incredible, situated inside the Chikan resort where you can find numerous restaurants, shops, and attractions. A great perk was that our stay included entry tickets, giving us the chance to enjoy many of the resort's lively shows. Our room was super comfortable, impeccably clean, and very family-friendly. Our kids especially loved the indoor playground on the ground floor. The buffet breakfast offered a fantastic variety of options, featuring multiple live stations with both Asian and Western choices. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I return to the Kaiping area.

This hotel is a legacy structure that has been lovingly and beautifully restored and renovated, with an emphasis on retaining the original brick and mortar work and a play on textures and surfaces. The traditional courtyards feature water wheels and koi ponds, iinterspersed by potted palms and ferns, and planters/trellises spilling over with bougainvillea. Al fresco seating is dotted around the verandahs and terraces, making for a pleasant quasi outdoor living concept. The rooms however boast the latest high tech gadgets like smart toilets, engendering a seamless fusion of old and new. Public spaces like the lobby lounge and reception, and even the elevators, also attempt to replicate the elegance of the building's vintage and to recapture the vibes of a bygone era which are the signature notes of Kaiping/Chikan's Western-infused architecture. There is also a small museum documenting the region's turbulent history within the hotel's premises.

This hotel was a breath of fresh air! From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by its unique and farm house style design. It wasn't your typical cookie-cutter hotel, and that's exactly what I loved. The peaceful environment was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing for a truly relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and providing to-the-point service – no fuss, just what I needed. A huge plus was the hotel's location. Being within walking distance of so many attractions made exploring a breeze. And when I got hungry, the abundance of great food options nearby was the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. It's in rural area and rides may not be to easy to get after 10pm. If you plan to return late to the hotel, be sure to know how to contact the hotel just in case the front desk is closed. Sorry to wake you at the middle of night boss lady!

I selected this hotel because its package specifically featured two live performances held inside Chikan Ancient Town, and indicated that tickets for these shows could be collected at the hotel front desk—implying that the package included special VIP tickets for both events. However, upon check-in, the receptionist informed me that the hotel does not provide any special tickets for the two shows to its guests. If I wished to secure VIP seating for the fire show, I would need to pay an additional fee at the venue entrance. This constitutes a clear misrepresentation. Had the hotel package not prominently highlighted these two performances and stated that tickets could be picked up at the front desk, I would not have chosen this hotel for my trip. Although the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quite spacious, the overall service level of the staff was merely average.
