PPengguna TetamuI was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, we encountered a few not very friendly staff at the reception. They didn’t do anything in particular that we would consider rude - but they just had a cold attitude. Some of their staff seem to have treated other guests a little differently for instance walking them to the lift and giving them more information about the hotel. This really impacted our experience at the hotel. However, I must say many of their staff were amazing, just a handful that were very cold and dismissive and this is not the level of hospitality you would expect from such a renowned hotel.
The room also looked and felt quite different than what is shown on trip.com and their official website.
I would still highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Lyon!

AAng_ieOur stay at Hotel Beau Rivage felt like a quiet pause along the journey. It’s the kind of place where you slow down without trying, simply because of where you are.
The location is truly lovely—surrounded by nature, with greenery all around. It immediately felt peaceful, almost grounding, as if the hotel blends naturally into its surroundings rather than standing apart from them.
One of the highlights was the view over the Rhône River. Watching the water flow by added a gentle rhythm to our stay, whether in the soft morning light or later in the day as everything settled into evening. It’s the sort of view that makes you linger a little longer, even if you’re just passing through.
As a stopover location, the hotel worked perfectly. It was convenient, easy to access, and restful—exactly what you hope for when breaking up a longer journey.
Hotel Beau Rivage didn’t need to do much to impress. The natural setting, the river views, and its ease as a stopover made it a calm and memorable place to rest before moving on.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed at a double room in the Sofitel in Lyon for a total of 3 nights in the summer of 2023.
The hotel is located just a few streets from the Place Bellecour which is one of the main squares in Lyon. It is also about 5 minutes away from many cafes, bistros and a large supermarket (Monop’) near Place Bellecour.
The room itself was a fairly standard double room (approximately 20 square metres). The interior and furnishings of the hotel look a bit dated but they were fine and did not matter in any material way. The minibar is complimentary and it is restocked daily with bottled water (still and sparkling), fruit juice, coca cola, and dried fruits and nuts.
The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were firm. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning was not very consistent and it would turn off in the middle of the night. It is not an issue if you are staying here in the winter but it made it difficult to sleep at night in the summer.
The staff were all very nice and pleasant. The concierge was especially friendly and he helped us to store our bags and arrange for a taxi to the train station on our last day.
We paid approximately EUR250 a night and we thought it was worth the price.

PPengguna TetamuI love this hotel. Take some walk you can get to metro station then visit many places! Vieux lyon , Fourviere, the halle de Lyon , parc de tete d'or . There are everything you need , microwave, TV water boiler, refrigerator, hangers, a cabin for cups ,plates , and cooking stove . This is the hotel I have seen that offers most for the customers !impressive
The only point I could pick is that it is not 24 hours reception. When I got there ,it already evening 10pm. I can only contact by phone and follow the instructions by calling
But the problem is I couldn't call when I don't have roaming nor French Sim card . This is quite nervous for me... i even not good at english numbering ,so if you couldn't really speak english nor french . Please be careful not to check in out of working hour ( it would be better if there is more urgent contact way )or maybe this is my problem....
Luckily I met a realllly kind customer, who helped me make the call and solve the check in problemwith me . Without him ,i can't imagine what would happen I mean .I really appreciate him (not sure if he would see this )also this kind gesture create a great impression to this trip !

PPengguna TetamuThe location is good in the sense that it is close to the tram station. Unfortunately, there were a few homeless tents set up directly under the bridge between the tram station and the hotel, and we had to walk past them to get to the hotel. That part felt a bit unsafe. However, aside from the homeless tents located directly under the bridge, the surrounding area was very clean, and we didn’t see any graffiti at all. The bridge area was really the only part that felt uncomfortable.
When we arrived around 1:00 PM, no one was at the front desk. There was a sign saying the staff member was in the breakfast area, but there was no indication of where that was. A phone number was provided, but no one answered when we called. We understood that check-in wasn’t until later, but we simply wanted to leave our luggage so we could start exploring the city. After waiting about 20 minutes, a staff member finally arrived and informed us that our room would not be ready until 5:00 PM, even though the stated check-in time is 3:00 PM.
We came back around 6:00 PM to check in, and the ladies assisting us were really nice and welcoming, which helped improve the overall experience. We rented this place with another family, and they were able to place us on the same floor next to each other, which was super awesome and very much appreciated.
Once we were checked in, we did like the hotel. We requested that the sofa be converted into a bed for our girls, and this was done promptly, which we really appreciated.
We stayed for only two nights, and there was no housekeeping service during our stay. It’s unclear whether housekeeping would be provided for longer stays. We were expected to take out our own trash and keep the kitchen area clean. While I understand washing dishes and cleaning up after ourselves, having to dispose of trash ourselves was inconvenient and should have been clearly communicated on the website. It was also odd that guests are expected to clean, yet dish soap and sponges are not provided unless you specifically ask for them.
Overall, I wouldn’t consider this an aparthotel, as it lacks many services typically provided by a hotel. It feels more like a furnished apartment rather than a hotel-style accommodation.
That said, we paid less than $100 USD per night during New Year’s Eve, which is excellent pricing. I would stay here again for the price and the level of service provided, but it would be helpful if the self-service expectations and the surrounding walking conditions were clearly communicated beforehand—for guests who may be willing to pay more for less work or for those who are not comfortable walking past the homeless area.

BBruno UA seulement 15 minutes du métro d'Oullins, cet hôtel est facile d'accès. Un accueil souriant et rapide m'a permis de récupérer rapidement mes clés.
Le logement est fonctionnel, propre et de taille assez grand pour une personne.
Bien que situé à côté de l'autoroute, l'isolation de la chambre est efficace.
Un seul bémol, la climatisation réversible fonctionne difficilement et ne chauffe pas trop la pièce.
