NNopavutThe hotel is better than I expected. The location is near Nagano central station by just 5-7 mins walk. The hotel also provides a private car park service for 1,200 jpy per day.
The room is spacious and the bathroom is also.
Room amenities can be grabbed at the lobby. The hotel uses DHC products which are good.
I asked a hotel staff to book a restaurant for me which was successful. The hotel has an English fluent staff who communicates really well. Thank you again for the service!

__pipi_Had a great experience staying at Toyoko-Inn Nagano Higashi-eki. Rooms were clean, housekeeping made sure you have clean towels everyday, breakfast was great. One small problem - they have 3 washing machine but 2 dryers. Great location near JR train stn, plenty to see and shop. We walked to Zenkoji Temple and stumbled upon the Sakura garden and had a mini picnic there. Will definitely come back to this hotel again the next time we come to Nagano!

CcicadaleeThere are only about 10 suites within the Onsen resort.
The hotel’s location is about 10mins drive from Nagano’s JR station. The resort is opened to public and hotel guests share the facility. There are a variety of Onsen pools both indoor and outdoor. A very different experience totally.
Staff are friendly though only one or two did their best for English speaking tourist like me.
We booked the Shinyi room.

Service was excellent 👍 staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Amenities were also complete and comfortable. Would definitely recommend for couples looking for a smooth and enjoyable stay.

WWei LeThis place is ~5mins walk from Zenkoji temple. neighborhood is peaceful at night.
Shoes to be removed outside the accommodation. Rooms are on the 2nd floor so you'll have to carry your luggage up (there's no lift).
Room (with window) is huge. You'll have to head downstairs to use the shared toilet and shared onsen (no toilet inside the room).
We were only allowed 30mins of onsen time for 2 pax - couples weren't allowed to use the onsen concurrently so we had to go one after another (i'm not sure if the instructions got lost in translation..). Felt very rushed so i didnt really get to enjoy the onsen experience, but overall was nice and clean.
Interesting 6.30am tour around the area and within the temple itself, followed by a simple vegetarian breakfast (porridge with omakase-styled sides with miso soup) back at the accommodation. The morning tour lasted from 6.30am - 8.30am.
The accommodation provided a fleece blanket to each pax to bring to Zenkoji temple to keep us warm during the morning praying ceremony. We went on 30 Dec and it was SO COLD.
Overall interesting experience but accommodation price is pretty steep IMO.

SSvetaLThe hotel is really well situated, less than 10 minutes from the JR station, and on the same street as the Shrine, so there were lots of places to eat nearby. I stayed in a dorm, which had more people than I expected for a room (I think I saw at least 60 bed/lockers) so it was quite loud even at night as people kept walking in and out. The actual bed was fine, and the people at the front took their time to walk me through what to know for the hostel. The lounge is a little awkwardly partitioned, but at least you get a space to use if you need food.
The dorm itself, I think has a little too many people to be comfortable but is clean enough. The lights never turn off, but because you have a curtain, it blocks out most of it. The largest issue is the noise, since people are coming in and out at random times of the night, and the buttons to open the door are also quite loud when you're trying to sleep. If you want ear plugs, they have them for a fee at the front. Nagano overall was very nice though, and the location made it a lot easier to get around.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaVery good location, just opposite the train station. Reception is on level 2, but staff is helpful to help carry luggages to and fro ground floor.
Room is small and toilet is squeezy, but still decent for a short stay. There is a Shampoo Bar at the reception to pick up stoiletries.
Breakfast is good, the complimentary soba noodles on selected weekday nights is also great. Nice view from the 10th floor, and also free space for customers to chill during the day.
Water was not provided complimentary to customers but instead was earned through a game.

Aastro.sergiuThis is a truly authentic experience! Cosy, with traditional furniture and bed, whilst still offering very comfortable options it's the best of both worlds. Plus, the view is among the best in town and the breakfast is authentic and charming. It was a beautiful experience to say here and the fact the hosts did not speak English actually added to the experience. I'd be sure to visit again next time I'm in Nagano.
