The location of the hotel is excellent - very close to the Railway Station and under cover all the way. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The breakfast was very good, as were the facilities. Overall, an excellent hotel. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a really clean and comfortable hotel and just a 7 minute walk from Nagano Station, a 7 minute walk to bus stop 23 for the Snow Monkey Park and close to a variety of restaurants and bars. It is also 15/20 minutes to Zenko-Ji which is a beautiful Buddhist temple and well worth visiting. We didn’t have breakfast included during our stay but other guests said that it was really good. Our room was really clean, spacious and comfortable with a firm mattress, a tv, toiletries and a kettle. In reception you can help yourself to teas, coffee and other toiletries for free which was helpful. The staff were really friendly and patient as we don’t speak Japanese. Our room was next to the railway line but the sound proofing was excellent and it was so quiet and we had two good nights of sleep. A comfortable and clean hotel that is conveniently located for exploring Negano.

We have been traveling around the world for the past two years and we have stayed in many hotels. I have never written a bad review of a hotel before. This is the reason I think you should reconsider your reservation at the Mecure hotel and spa. It’s a long review, but I believe it is helpful for future travelers. We have been traveling around Japan for the past three months and we have stayed in numerous hotels in numerous cities. We absolutely love Japan and we have no complaints for any of the other hotels that we have stayed in. However, the Mecure Hotel Resort and Spa does not come close to meeting our expectations. It is the only hotel where no staff greeted us upon arrival to help with luggage. It is the only hotel that didn’t allow us to check in one hour early. Even though we know that there was only a 5-10% occupancy rate (based on the cars in the parking lot), they would not allow us to go to our room at 2 PM. - we had to wait until 3 p.m. They even kept the keys from us and we had to wait in line again to pick them up at 3 PM. One would think that they would have the welcome lounge open for people to wait for their rooms, but it doesn’t open until 3 PM. We had to lock up our luggage in order to keep it there for the hour. It was the only hotel that made us pay for ice. I did get a cup of ice in the lounge (3 cubes), but they told us we couldn’t bring it to our room. They offered us a welcome drink, but they wanted me to access the coupon on my phone on my Accor account yet they had the written coupon right there in front of them. Made no sense! Breakfast is only served from 7 AM until 9:30 AM, with the last orders being taken at 9 AM. For those of us who don’t like to get up early in the morning, that is a detrimental aspect of this hotel. We do a lot of research before we book a room at any hotel. We chose the classic twin room with a sofa bed and the mountain view. It very specifically listed “Mountain View,” and we knew we wanted that view based on our examination of Google maps of the hotel. When we arrived at our room, we looked out to see the parking lot and then the highway, and then about 5 to 7 miles in the distance we saw some mountains (see pictures below). We went downstairs to request a room change to the side that looked at the beautiful mountains and their response was “every room has a Mountain View.” That was not acceptable for us, so we had to push until they moved our room. Interestingly, the room they moved us to had a map of the mountain range that is the view. There was no such mountain map in the other room. We just examined the hotels website, and now none of the rooms have Mountain View listed, except for the junior suite. Our guess is that too many people complained when they were put in the rooms that have a view of the mountains 5 to 7 miles away. The bathroom is very very small. The furniture is adequate at best. Went in April 2023. The hotel is walkable to the only natural hot spring facility in town. 100 for Service. Special shoutout to the service staff! Location wise, it is centrally located within Nagano, however transportation wise would be more convenient to stay at Nagano station. The hotel is quaint and quiet with decent restaurants available within the building. Appreciate the flexibility to extend my stay for one night at Hotel Kokusai 21. Local drivers know the location of the building which is convenient for people who does not speak Japanese. Booked a room for 3, appreciated that the sofa bed was set up prior to arrival (some hotels only does this after you have reached, which increases waiting time.) Working fridge. Requested for a change in kettle and they provided one swiftly despite the language barrier. The hotel lobby is also a joy to walk into daily as they provide an exhibition of a samurai celebrating boy's day in Japan (5th May) with koi flags hanging at the back. A souvenir shop is also located within the lobby for last minute shoppers. Fun fact, this souvenir shop is not more expensive than at the train station.

Very close to Nagano Station. You exit out of the station. Find the overpass that takes you across to Don Quijote Discount Store. There is an escalator that takes you down to the street level. Turn right. You'll walk past the Alpico Bus Ticket Office. This is where you buy the bus tickets to go to the three shrines in Togakushi (bus number 70, approximately one bus per hour). Keep walking until you see a Chinese restaurant. The hotel is the next building. We had the standard twin room. Room size is OK as expected. The decor in our room more than made up for it. That was a really nice surprise. I love Fujisan and wood-block prints and we were going to visit Hokusai Museum in nearby Obuse the next day! Breakfast area is in front of the lifts. The hotel has a business hotel feel to it. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast (probably my second favourite). Of all the places we stayed in on this trip, this is the only place with noodles, five grain rice and Asian greens. The Asian greens were served at room temperature with some special sauce, not plain. The sweet bread roll was very yummy. And if I remembered correctly, it even had apple cider vinegar! It also seemed that if you needed to, you could take breakfast with you as the hotel provided takeaway containers. The soup was already in takeaway containers. We definitely need more than two nights to explore Nagano!

Great hotel, located very close to the Nagano station. The location is perfect for those doing day trips from Nagano. The room was super clean and cosy and had a lot of spaces.

由於一間較為舊建築物，走廊位置牆身有發霉出現。 房間就比較打掃乾淨，感覺著重房間衛生多於走廊。 位置就山旮旯，自駕感覺有點遠。 服務方面，一到步，check in，就有職員講解酒店設施，帶你參觀，帶你上房。我今次Order晚餐，有專人捧餐同講解，有間房坐，好大間房，好寧靜房間。早餐就會在一個餐廳的大廳食，都係有專人講解。2餐份量十足，味道上都叫中等。

長野駅界隈に複数あるビジネスホテルの1つですが、真っ先にお勧めできない要素がいくつかあります。 各客室の広さは一般的なビジネスホテルと同程度で、浴室含め清潔に保たれているのは言うまでもありません。浴室は、ビジネスホテルによく見られる、もはや落としきれない程の汚れは見られない上に、意外にもバスタブは広めであるため、湯を張ってゆったりと浸かることも出来ると思います。 多くの東横INNと同様に、非常に多い客室と比較してもエレベーターの数が2基と少なく、少なくとも休日は目的のフロアになかなかエレベーターが到着出来ず、イライラさせられることもしばしばあります。このホテルの最大の欠点は、チェックイン・チェックアウトのロビーの狭さにあります。特に休日は多くの宿泊客が訪れるため、エレベーターホール前などは大混雑し、場合により身動き出来ないことがあります。それらの客への対応にスタッフが借り出されるため、チェックイン・チェックアウトは専用の機器の使用を促されるのですが、その機器の操作になれていない宿泊客も多く、特にチェックイン手続きにモタモタされることが多いです。結局スタッフとの対話形式でチェックイン手続きをした方が早いことが多く、専用機器導入による効率化が本末転倒になると思います。 長野駅の東口は、善行寺口と比較すると飲食店の数が少なく、食事をする場所が限られてしまう可能性があると思います。その分、夜間は静かに過ごせるでしょう。但し、東口から歩道橋や信号などをやや迂回しながらホテルに向かう必要があり、雨天等悪天候時はやや億劫に感じるかもしれません。天気が悪くなく、観光客もそれ程多くない比較的閑散する時期に利用すると快適に感じられるホテルだと思います。 各客室への入室は、専用のカードキーが必要です。宿泊する客室フロアへ向かうためのエレベーター内にもカードキーをかざすセンサーがあり、それをしないと目的のフロアに停まりません。セキュリティはしっかりしているホテルだと思います。 This is one of several business hotels in the Nagano Station area, but there are a few factors that make it the first one I would not recommend. The size of each room is comparable to that of a typical business hotel, not to mention the cleanliness of the rooms, including the bathrooms. The bathrooms are not soiled to the point of no longer being able to be cleaned, as is often the case in business hotels, and the bathtub is surprisingly spacious, so you can fill it with hot water for a relaxing soak. As with many Toyoko INNs, there are only two elevators compared to the very large number of guest rooms, and it's often frustrating, at least on holidays, when the elevator cannot easily reach the desired floor. The biggest drawback of this hotel is the small size of the check-in and check-out lobby. Especially on holidays, many guests visit the hotel, and the area in front of the elevator hall is crowded, sometimes making it difficult for guests to move. Because staff members are dispatched to deal with these guests, they are urged to use special equipment for check-in and check-out, but many guests are not familiar with the operation of such equipment, and they are often slowed down especially in the check-in procedure. In the end, it's often quicker to check in by talking with the staff, and I believe that the introduction of dedicated equipment has essentially reversed the efficiency gains made by the introduction of such equipment. There are fewer restaurants at the East Exit of Nagano Station than at the Zenkoji Exit, which may limit the number of places to eat. For this reason, it will be quiet at night. However, it's necessary to go from the East Exit to the hotel, bypassing the pedestrian bridge and traffic lights somewhat, which may be a bit of a hassle in bad weather, such as rain. If you use the hotel during a relatively quiet period when the weather is not bad and there are not so many tourists, you will feel comfortable. A special card key is required to enter each room.
