PPengguna TetamuAs the name implies, these are serviced apartments, it’s not a hotel. The location is slightly further from the beach than most tourist conveniences, but Paje is not big (we’re talking anbout 350m), and not being on the centre of tourism suits me better. It is quiet, has everything one needs, and John, the manager, was great. I would definitely stay here again.
The only thing I might suggest was a discomfort, was that when we had one of the notorious big island-wide blackouts for almost 12 hours, Nebo wasn’t the most prepared. I actually come from a country that has struggled with constant electricity for several years. Generators, solar lights, and more than anything, reassurance for tourists who may not know the area, are useful. The cooker is gas, and cellphones come with torches, so I was completely fine. It just would have been good I think, given how quiet it was, to check.
I’d still recommend it.

LLynnMy stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction.
The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment.
From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

PPengguna TetamuThis is my second trip to Marea (previously under another name but with the same owners). I only want to talk about how much I like it if you all promise not to book in for the same weeks that I visit again. It’s quiet, which I love, but within walking distance of busier Paje. The rooms are clean, well-sized, have aircon, fans and cute balconies. Some of the rooms have just been redesigned, and I know there are more upgrades in the works. It has a wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, which is helpful because you don’t ever feel like you *need* to hunt for other food. It has a perfectly sized pool which never feels crowded, and not being in the centre of the resort, doesn’t come with lots of eyes gazing in your direction. Most of all, the staff are fantastic. They always have a smile and a kind word. Service is good and easy. It’s a great find for those looking for a boutique family run resort that also doesn’t break the bank.

JJacqueline KarikariJe suis une voyageuse solo et je cherchais un hôtel où me reposer après mes folles escales dans tout Zanzibar. Toute l’équipe de l’hôtel a été aux petits soins avec moi. Je n’ai manqué de rien. La chambre était spacieuse et magnifique avec la piscine et le petit jardin. Le domaine est très boisé ce qui fait que vous pouvez croiser des petits animaux sympathiques. Encore merci à toute l’équipe de l’hôtel The Résidence pour tout le soin apporté à mon séjour.

PPengguna TetamuGood value for money resort. Service was very good. We had a late flight and they gave us a free room to have a shower instead of using the pool shower. Really appreciated it. Location is very quite and relaxing, but a bit away from any other places.

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel was exceptional, it is a little dream in paradise. The resort is so relaxing, once you arrive you just feel calm. The staff are so professional and polite, always willing to help you. The rooms are exquisite with lovely decor and the swim up pool is just the icing on the cake. It is not anywhere on the island you can find these types of rooms with this style of resort and service. If you want a quiet slice of paradise this hotel is for you. Relaxing with a book on the hammock, the evening activities, painting or yoga, the fresh fruit at breakfast, swimming with the turtles. I have stayed in paje, nungwi but nothing beats staying in kizimkazi at Kwanza.

PPengguna TetamuThe service was great. The room with sea view on the second floor was very hygienic. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not available. It would be hot in the dry season. It would be even better if there were loungers at the door! I love the two cats here. They gave birth to four babies. It's a great thing I've met here.
