As the name implies, these are serviced apartments, it’s not a hotel. The location is slightly further from the beach than most tourist conveniences, but Paje is not big (we’re talking anbout 350m), and not being on the centre of tourism suits me better. It is quiet, has everything one needs, and John, the manager, was great. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I might suggest was a discomfort, was that when we had one of the notorious big island-wide blackouts for almost 12 hours, Nebo wasn’t the most prepared. I actually come from a country that has struggled with constant electricity for several years. Generators, solar lights, and more than anything, reassurance for tourists who may not know the area, are useful. The cooker is gas, and cellphones come with torches, so I was completely fine. It just would have been good I think, given how quiet it was, to check. I’d still recommend it.

The hotel is incredible. If you are looking for some peace and privacy look no further. Beautiful rooms, spotless and green territory, attention to every detail. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff will make your stay memorable.

My stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction. The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment. From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

This was such a nice stay. Starting with the staff which was so kind, helpful and attended to any queries quickly. The place itself is stunning and I loved my room, I just wish there was a big mirror in the room so I could check my fits. They were very big on cleanliness and attention to detail. I would go back there anytime and it is just a 5min walk to the beach, near bento and an atm. The breakfast was also very good. Definitely a 100/10 just on the staff alone❣️ They even got me a hairdryer. The room smelled amazing with the lemongrass. In the room there was also a beach bag with a towel in. It was amazing. The only thing I didn't expect is that they charged me 2dollars city tax for every night I stayed there which was a bit unexpected for me.

Stayed in Villa Huruma for a couple of nights. Was absolutely amazing! It is right next to the beach, really clean and really safe. Lucy, a member of staff, did such an amazing job looking after our every need. Would love to come back soon!

Nous avons séjourné au Mandarin Resort Zanzibar et notre expérience a été assez mitigée. Le principal point positif de l’hôtel est sans aucun doute son personnel, qui est très gentil, accueillant et serviable. L’hôtel est également à taille humaine, situé loin des zones très touristiques, ce qui permet de profiter d’un environnement calme. Autre point appréciable : il y a toujours de la place autour de la piscine ou sur la plage, et on ne se sent jamais les uns sur les autres. Malheureusement, l’état général de l’hôtel laisse vraiment à désirer et mériterait une rénovation importante. Notre chambre était située près du groupe électrogène, ce qui provoquait énormément de bruit lors des coupures de courant, y compris pendant la nuit. La chambre elle-même était assez vétuste, en particulier la salle de bain, qui aurait vraiment besoin d’un gros rafraîchissement. Le même constat s’applique à la piscine. Elle est vieillissante et certaines réparations semblent avoir été faites assez rapidement, sans réelle finition. Pendant notre séjour, le niveau de l’eau a énormément baissé, au point de ne plus atteindre le système de filtration. L’eau est alors devenue trouble, avec beaucoup de petites saletés visibles, sans que cela ne semble particulièrement inquiéter l’équipe de l’hôtel. Nous avons également rencontré plusieurs problèmes concernant la propreté du linge. Chaque fois que nous avons demandé de nouveaux essuies, certains nous ont été apportés avec des taches. L’un d’entre eux était dans un état tel que nous avons dû demander immédiatement à le remplacer. Autre gros point négatif : la pression de l’eau dans la douche. Après environ 19h, il était presque impossible d’avoir une pression correcte. Nous sommes allés plusieurs fois à la réception pour signaler le problème, mais aucune solution n’a été trouvée. Nous avons donc dû nous doucher avec un simple filet d’eau à plusieurs reprises. Si vous avez les cheveux longs et devez les laver, cela devient franchement compliqué. Concernant le Wi-Fi, il fonctionne relativement correctement pendant la journée, mais devient extrêmement lent le soir, au point qu’il est parfois difficile de simplement consulter les réseaux sociaux. L’hôtel propose apparemment une connexion plus performante, mais celle-ci est payante, ce qui est assez décevant. Le buffet est globalement très bon et nous avons bien mangé. En revanche, si vous arrivez un peu plus tard, vers 21h par exemple, le choix devient nettement plus limité. Après une semaine sur place, les repas deviennent également assez répétitifs car la variété reste finalement assez restreinte. En résumé, le Mandarin Resort dispose de vrais atouts : un personnel adorable, beaucoup de calme, une ambiance à taille humaine et suffisamment d’espace autour de la piscine et de la plage. Malheureusement, ces points positifs ne compensent pas complètement les nombreux problèmes liés à l’entretien, aux équipements vieillissants et à certains services de base. Avec une vraie rénovation et davantage d’attention portée à l’entretien et au confort des chambres, l’hôtel pourrait être beaucoup plus agréable.

This is my second trip to Marea (previously under another name but with the same owners). I only want to talk about how much I like it if you all promise not to book in for the same weeks that I visit again. It’s quiet, which I love, but within walking distance of busier Paje. The rooms are clean, well-sized, have aircon, fans and cute balconies. Some of the rooms have just been redesigned, and I know there are more upgrades in the works. It has a wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, which is helpful because you don’t ever feel like you *need* to hunt for other food. It has a perfectly sized pool which never feels crowded, and not being in the centre of the resort, doesn’t come with lots of eyes gazing in your direction. Most of all, the staff are fantastic. They always have a smile and a kind word. Service is good and easy. It’s a great find for those looking for a boutique family run resort that also doesn’t break the bank.

Этот отель заслуживает отдельного внимания, особенно для тех, кто хотел бы отдыхать премиум класса, но лимитирован в бюджете. Виллы шикарные, просторные, все приватно расположены с садом и собственным бассейном. Соседей не видно и не слышно. Чем-то напоминает Мальдивы, только там такие номера стоят тысячи долларов. Территория большая, ухоженная, очень чистая, по ней приятно гулять, тот, кто за ней ухаживает заслуживают золотой медали. Охрана отеля в виде воинов Масаи , очень необычно, придаёт свою изюминку. Панорамный открытый ресторан. Виды потрясающие. Пляж чистый, приватный, кроме гостей отеля никого нет, песок белый и мягкий. Океан чистый. Время отливов и приливов удобное. Приливы рано утром и после обеда , когда солнце уже не агрессивно. Возможно нет такого разнообразия в выборе блюд, но зато вкусно. На завтраки свежевыжатые соки. Пусть не так вышколен персонал, но это отражено в стоимости. И все равно большое им спасибо. Очень понравилось и очень рекомендую.

Пожалуйста, дочитайте до конца - вам возможно будет полезно, а нам приятно! Если кратко - это райский отель в очень красивом месте с прекрасной территорией, просторными номерами, очень приветливым персоналом и чудесной кухней. Но по порядку. В отель мы приехали после двухдневного сафари и нашей целью был полный релакс вдали от шума и суеты. И это оправдалось на 100%. РАСПОЛОЖЕНИЕ. Зависит от ваших целей. Если цели совпадают с нашими - полный релакс в уединённом месте с питанием внутри отеля, то расположение просто идеальное. Если вы хотите, например, питаться в других местах или проводить вечера вне отеля, то придётся пользоваться такси или арендной машиной. ОТЕЛЬ. Прекрасная ухоженная территория, чистый бассейн, отличные виды на океан и удобный спуск в море по ступенькам. На територии есть мини ферма специй, по которой вам может провести бесплатную экскурсию персонал с рецепции. Бассейн чистый, его можно использовать без ограничений по времени. НОМЕРА. Просторные, если не сказать огромные, чистые, у нас была лоджия с видом на море. Есть всё необходимое. Вода! Говорят, что на Занзибаре водой из-под крана нельзя даже чистить зубы. Мы чистили, всё в порядке, разве что вода чуть солоноватая на вкус (об этом нас предупредили на рецепции). Вода в бутылках для питья обновляется каждый день. ПЕРСОНАЛ. Абсолютно идеальный - очень приветливы, помогают по любому вопросу - доставить багаж, продумать маршрут (мы брали машину для поездок в ресторан The Rock, Jozani Forest и т.д.), экскурсия на по своей ферме специй, помощь в ресторане - всё было очень уютно. РЕСТОРАН. Еда выше всяких похвал, ну прям высокая кухня по местным меркам. Единственное - готовят на обед/ужин долго, но если вы, как мы, никуда не спешите, то это будет особенностью, а не недостатком. Цены средние для Занзибара, всё очень вкусно и красиво. Завтрак отличный - на заказ, вкусно и достаточно всего. Обязательно попробуйте сок из авокадо - мы его пили литрами и хотим теперь повторить эксперимент дома)) МОРЕ И ОТЛИВЫ. В приливы можно купаться со ступенек, в отливы можно застать потрясающие виды - здесь отливы очень красивые. ПАРКОВКА. Мы брали машину для поездок, её можно припарковать на территории отеля под навесом, в километре от отеля есть заправка. ОБЩЕЕ ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЕ. Вспоминаем как 3 дня в раю!
