Great hotel, great beach, great service. Highly recommended. The team is unbelievable good - for example, resident manager itself spend an 3 hour trying to solve an trouble with my booking. Then they made an upgrade for me, saying: "Because you have to wait so long". Oh, guys. Again - you are great.

Four of us stayed at Amethyst Resort from 5th to 9th September 2023. The hotel borders the Pasikuda beach that boasts of white sand and turquoise blue waters of the ocean. On arrival, we were offered a tasty drink and a warm "Aubovan", the typical Sri Lankan greeting. Baggage was delivered to our rooms that overlooked the sea. There was a long-raised bench to place our baggage. The airconditioned bedroom was quite spacious. The king-size bed had been made up with clean, fresh white sheets and large white pillows. The furnishings included a tv, a fridge, an overhead fan, a dressing table, another table, two comfortable chairs with a low centre table, a cupboard for our clothes along with a kettle and tea/coffee bags. The rooms were cleaned and made up daily. Outside the room on the sea side, was a two metre wide veranda equipped with a bench, a comfortable chair and a centre table. The bathroom too was spacious with clean and white fittings along with standard supplies of soap, conditioner etc. and a clothes rack. The shower provided hot and cold water. There was a well-equipped bar adjacent to the reception and the common lounge area. The hotel also arranged a one-hour boat ride to observe the corals on the reef bordering the Pasikuda beach. The dining area was large and spacious. The guests were mainly foreign tourists and the meals had been tailored to meet their palette. They made tasty Sri Lankan dishes especially for us and for a few other local guests. The staff were exceptionally caring, professional, and helpful and attended to our smallest need. Our thanks also go to the manager Niroshan, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and contented. Thank you to all at Amethyst for our memorable stay.

Buffet was terrible and there wasn’t any enough food in the buffet. For the lunch we had a set menu, the soup was terrible. Moreover for the dessert we ordered a biscuit pudding. and that was very funny 😅. That portion is enough for a toddler. I will share some pictures of it. We were very disappointed. The food was not good. Im not recommending the food at all. One good thing is the rooms are ok and the bathroom is spacious.

Great resort overall. Staff friendly and courteous. Rooms clean and spacious. Onsite restaurant and bar offer decent fare. Benefits immensely from specific location on Passikudah beach in that waters are calm and clear. Given it 4 stars as there's room to add frills to make it more fun. Would certainly visit again, fully recommended!

Buffet is not satisfaction at Sri Lankans. Beach side is not clear water. Room service is not well. There are no indoor or out door activites. Only volleyball court.It was very sunny when we went, so I focused a lot on indo activities. But I didn't get to spend it properly

Very relax and calm beach resort, we spent 2 nights with my friends we really enjoyed. Pool and jacuzzi is awesome, beautiful view from the pool and room. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the local breakfast they provided. Best place in pasikudah

Excellent service, very helpful / friendly staff, especially Ranchan in the front desk. Food is delicious. Big choice at the bar. Breakfast,lunch, dinner buffet changes every day. Christmas night gathering was well organized. Thanks for making our vacation memorable one
