The Retreat Beach Houses

Nice staff. Dated slightly shabby bungalows. Upstairs living area bright and sunny. Downstairs sleeping and bathroom damp and didn’t get and direct sunlight. Access from top level to bottom via an outside staircase, albeit enclosed it still got wet when it rained. Pool nice temperature but needed maintenance. Overpriced for level of supposed ‘luxury’.

From initial booking to final check out, a great experience. We called and spoke to the manager re the houses available, their facilities etc. she was extremely helpful as they both were in arrival. The use of sms for checkin and out info was appreciated. Our check in was smooth, the house as described and our stay was delightful. The location was peaceful yet close to shops etc. The boardwalk to the beach was handy as was the tennis court, pool and BBQ. Highly recommended - great place to stay

We stayed in a beach house for 3 nights (as part of visit to the east coast) it was only 5 mins to the beach (out of a side gate). with the beach really lovely (see pics from first evening walk). A 20-30 minute beach walk takes you to Peregian Village where shops, cafes & restaurants or less than 5mins in the car! In No17 there was a fully equipped kitchen, dining table inside and out along with a large living room and tv (plus a range of board games etc - nice touch). Downstairs were the bathroom, 3 bedrooms and en-suite for our bedroom with everything working and also being clean and tidy. The BH also provides beach towels and umbrellas so you don’t have to take that with you. We used the pool one day but not the tennis court and the managers there were very friendly and helpful when we chatted with them. Would happily stay here again as lovely bueach, good local centre nearby and very close to Noosa by car.

Nice big houses with a great architecture. Below you have baths, showers and bedrooms and on 1st floor a very big room with a great kitchen, nice couches and so on. Only a few meters to the beach but for swimming it would be better to go/drive to the main beach, about 2km away, where you also can find a lifeguard.

The Beach Cabins are marketed as 5 Star luxury houses, but the reality is the opposite. The cabins are two story with weird external stairs which are a safety hazard as they are poorly lit and slippery when it is raining. We were disappointed that we didnt have a veiw of the beach as we were led to believe they all have a view. There are two balconies but they just look at the back of the house in front.. The furniture is dated and mismatched. The bedrooms are downstairs so you are constantly going up and down stairs not good if you have mobility limitations. The pool is really awesome and suitable for all abilities and ages as there are no steps you can just walk in like a beach. It is heated and very clean. The towels were wor and had holes in them. There is a wooden path leading down to the beach. The actual beach is very rough and we didnt see anyone swimming. If you want a safe beach you can drive 10 mins to Noosa Beach. There is an IGA and pharmacy about 3km away but you probably couldnt walk there as its a busy road and no footpath. The kitchen doesnt have an extraction fan so you have to keep windows open when cooking on the electric stovetop. It was very cold and the heating in one of the bedrooms was broken the whole time, even though we reported it. Also the hot water stopped working on day two!! Luckily it was fixed but took a day and was an inconvenience for us. The positives are that the cabin is very clean, spacious, lots of natural light and foliage. Has two bathrooms and extra toilet upstairs. Overall we were disappointed in the cabins as we feel that they are marketed as luxurious, up market and beach front but what we discovered was they are just average and if we came up again we would choose differently.

April 2023 I stayed in a beach house only 3 mns to the beach. I could hear the waves crashing against the shore at night, that’s how close the cottage was. A 20 Minute beach walk takes you to Peregian Village where shops and cafes abound (Hand of Fatima wins for breakfast with a Turkish twist, heavenly!) then you walk back to recover! As a solo traveler without a car, I recommend that you carry a lightweight rucksack to buy provisions or takeaways for your meals back at the cottage. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and resting area on the top floor, and spotless rooms and bathrooms below. Having such an ample space all to myself was a luxury! It’s straightforward to get around from here with buses, Uber drivers (I got picked up by Teslas), or use the airport buses to get back home. It’s easier than you think! The Retreat also provides beach towels and umbrellas so you don’t have to take that with you. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a peaceful oasis by the beach.
