Hotel berhampiran Quan Spa, Phuket

This hotel does not meet service standards of a Le Meridien hotel. Food quality is far below average for a Phuket resort. The staff are friendly and trying hard but severely under trained. We have visited and stayed at over 5 hotels in Phuket and 10 in Thailand over the past three years. This hotel was by a long way the lowest quality, despite being in the higher cost bracket. A few observations: Buffet food is poor with stale breads, limited selection, limited options (even of Thai food), and low quality cuts of meat. Service stations are understaffed, for example I had to find and then wait for a chef to find a lighter to prepare some stir fried vegetables at evening buffet in the ”J's” restaurant. The food would be overpriced if good, at this quality it is highly disappointing. Restaurant staff are undertrained, and do not complete basic jobs e.g. laying cutlery, cleaning away after guests have left the restaurant, checking on drinks refills. Incorrect bills were presented including charging for bottles instead of glasses of wine. On two occasions we noticed food dropped onto the floor remaining there with ants / insects for the whole of our stay over 1 hour and not being cleaned. The pool area has limited seating and hotel patrons wake early to 'reserve' with towels they have kept from the day before. If you wish to sit by the pool I suggest you wake at 7am to reserve your space. The rooms are updated, clean and well maintained. But there is limited hot water which is very variable. The beach is clean, beautiful and the sea is as good as you will find in Phuket. Unfortunately we stayed through the New Year break and the staff did not remove the tables and chairs from the party for nearly a whole day. Maybe excusable, but the plates of food left to rot on the beach for 12+ hours was for sure not acceptable. I'm including a photo of the toaster as an example of the training / management gaps in this property. For three days there was disgusting melted cheese inside the toaster. I pointed out each morning to the staff but they did not take action. Leaving the property was a good example of the gaps here. I asked for a taxi to be booked (it was not offered), and waited for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes I checked with concierge to be told that they had ”told someone else”. As with many of the gaps in this property there is no chain of command, and staff are not clear on their roles. Finally and not 100% relevant to this review, but we attended the New Year beach party. It was a very funny farce. The MC/DJ appeared to be extremely drunk throughout the night, it rained for 30 minutes - there was no plan for rain - guests sat under their napkins - the buffet food became wet and sodden. The food itself was very poor indeed. The entertainment was two dancers and a miming cabaret act, plus the fire show that happens on every week in the hotel. For $200USD per head, I would not recommend attending an event at this hotel under any circ

This is a really beautiful good hotel for those who wanna relax, but for those who wanna clubbing, partying and shopping, definitely not a good place. The staff are really polite and helpful. They clean the room 2 times a day. The breakfast is fantastic, the best breakfast i have ever had in any hotel. Delicious fresh and full of varieties. The pool was fantastic with 1.2 1.5 1.7 2.2 meters depth and a place to sit or stand in the water. Too many beds and umbrellas. ‼️Mindful about the beach, you can’t swim in the sea. There are red flags everywhere !!! But the beach is big and pretty.

I’ve never experienced such luxury with people that treat you like royalty and you can feel sincerity in their service. They do it from the heart in making sure that your stay in Anantara is well taken care of and ensuring you have the best time ever. That’s how I feel. I could not find any cons while staying here. Special thanks to my butler, Minnie. From day 1, she was the one who arrange the transport, the boat trip to the island, our food arrangement, she took care of it all. Even til the last day we check out, she made sure we have a place to rest although it’s past the official check out time. She even gifted a souvenir on our last day which was such a nice personal touch. The room was spectacular it comes with a private pool, the beach was very clean and blue, the breakfast spread was utterly delicious, the buggy guy was always very friendly. The reception guy Sonny even allowed us to have an early check in since we arrived quite early. Everyone was lovely. I dare say, this is the best vacation Ive ever had in my entire life. Not even paid to write this. I sincerely mean it. ❤️

Pros: The hotel is about an 8 min drive to the airport and 10 min walk to the beach. Rooms are more holiday-apartment style with a kitchenette and lounge area + bedroom. Our room was cleaned daily & check-in was a breeze. They have hourly shuttles to the beach and back. Buffet breakfast with a wide variety of meals. There’s a Sabai Massage and a 7-eleven just around the corner. Cons: The main lobby is not wheelchair - friendly they don’t have a ramp and you will have to lift your heavy suitcases over the steps to and from reception!!The shower gel & shampoo are tiny only enough for 1 person to use just once.They provide only 1 gown and sleepers to use for 7 days. There’s a laundry service that only takes 10 baht coins and you need to go to the bank to get them if the 7-Eleven doesn’t have enough! Waisted a whole day tryin to get coins cos the hotel didn’t have any & the banks were closed. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful stay!

I flew in at midnight and they were accommodating and checked me in! I went into my villa and after I was settled in, I noticed there was a bug on one of the beds. Then I pulled the covers back and it was infested with bugs! I immediately called the front desk and asked for help, the man told me he doesn’t speak English and so I said please come here. He came and he was prepared to put me in another suite and the suite had a clean bed without any insects. I made sure he saw that I checked as it was about 1am at this point and I was exhausted. There was air conditioning and a shower with tub and a working toilet. You definitely get what you pay for here, it was rough at first but I survived my first night in Phuket😆

Wir haben das Hotel spontan suf unserer Rundreise gebucht und hier 3 Nächte verbracht. Die Hotelanlage ist neu, aber entspricht eher einem 4 Sterne Hotel.1000 Baht sind zwingend in bar als Kaution zu hinterlegen. Frühstücksauswahl ist für ein 5 Sterne Hotel zu gering. Kaffemaschinen sind für die Anzahl der Gäste deutlich zu langsam. Vorallem ist grundsätzlich meistens eine Maschine ausser Betrieb weil Milch oder Bohnen fehlen oder der Auffangbehälter geleert werden musste. Mindestens 80% der Hotelgäste sind aus Russland, der Rest verteilt sich auf europäische und asiatische Gäste. Wir hatten an einem Tag einen Ausflug gebucht und benötigten um 08:30 Uhr ein Taxi. Ich bat an der Rezeption darum eines zu rufen. Erst wurde ich vergessen, nach meiner Erinnerung nach wenigen Minuten wurde ich nach einer Taxitelefonummer gefragt?! Woher sollte ich als Gast die Telefonnummer einer Taxizentrale haben? Die Reaktion verwunderte mich sehr. Die Mitarbeiterin blätterte dann in einem schwarzen Buch, sprach mit jemanden und schickte mich mit den Worten ”not available now” einfach weg. Wir mussten dann die Straße absuchen und einen Fahrer für völlig überteuertes Geld nehmen und kamen zu spät an unserem Ziel an. Im allgemeinen waren leider nicht alle vom Personal freundlich. Im Gebäude F, indem wir unser Zimmer hatten, hörte man die Moschee aus der Nachbarschaft zu verschiedenen Zeiten am Tag. Wir würden dieses Hotel nicht mehr aufsuchen.

We wanted to stay in a hotel close to the airport that also offered the luxury we needed, and JW Marriott did not disappoint!! We were greeted and welcomed by Julian. He offered us welcome drinks and assisted with check-in. The room was spacious, super clean and we had a good view of the garden and ocean. The bathroom is a little dated especially when compared to other Marriott's but it wasn't a big deal for us. The breakfast buffet was amazing!!! It's more expensive than most places but it's worth every penny! The Andaman restaurant served delicious food. We love the seafood curry. Tee was so attentive and made us feel very welcomed. We also loved the Big Fish. Yok, Jaeb, Joey and Nam where the best!!! They made our holiday extra special. Yok entertained our kids and they loved his little tricks. Jaeb's cocktails were divine!!! The children loved the Kids Club as well. Friendly, attentive staff that made our kids feel safe and welcomed. The only thing we can complain about is that Big Fish was very hot but they did provide fans. We will definitely return!

Laya Resort is a gem on Phuket Island! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The resort's stunning architecture and lush surroundings create a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Our room had a spectacular view of the ocean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved lounging by the pool and sipping cocktails from the bar. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options to start our day. We had an unforgettable experience and highly recommend Laya Resort to anyone visiting Phuket.

Fantastic friendly welcoming staff. Very nice hotel. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Only negatives, apart from 10 minute away Boat Avenue it's far from outside restaurants and malls. This makes our excursions somewhat more expensive due to distance. There are sometimes ants in the living area though not sure where they are coming in from. The water from the taps can sometimes smell a little. Having said this we were in a Bangkok hotel before arriving at La Green but La Green is a far nicer hotel.
