Not too far neither from the ancient city of PingYao nor from the train station. The room was ok and the staff pretty nice !

The hotel accepts foreigners. The location is good, relatively close to the ancient town, and about 2 KM from Pingyao station. It's also convenient if you're going to Zhenguo temple, as the bus going there stops nearby. The place itself is a bit in the middle of nowhere (a bit difficult to find, but look for the signs), but there are a few shops and eateries nearby. The room was clean, and sufficiently large. However, do note that you don't get anything except for the room (i.e. no towel, no toiletries etc.). Also the homestay is literally opposite from the railway tracks, so you're going to hear trains all the time. It's tolerable if you close the window, but do note that there's no air-conditioning, so it's going to be a problem in Summer. That said, it's extremely cheap, so even with all the issues, it's still great value for money.

The host were nice and friendly. They speak no English but they use and app for basic translations. The room is good value for money. Modern and clean, with good architectural finishes. They don't provide towels, shampoo and so. No air conditioner either, thou I asked for a fan and they gave it to me and it was perfect like that. Location wasn't so easy to find, the access road can be either dusty or muddy depending on the weather. It's about 15 minutes walk to the north gate of ancient Pingyao city wall. I would recommend specially to couples as it's the same price as for solo travellers. (I guess the price is per room) They didn't ask for a deposit as written in their policies, which is a plus. I attach a plan explaining how to best get there. Recommended.

Lovely guesthouse just outside Pingyao ancient city, a very short walk! Not super easy to find but the family came out on the street to greet me. Clean newly renovated place.

Very friendly owners. Location is in nice neighborhood just outside of north side of Pingyao ancient city. It is pleasant to walk away from the ancient city to explore the local neighborhood and shops.

The location is not the best, the place is not easy to find. Overall, it is fine for one night stay and the owners were so lovely.

Spent a nice night here. Everything clean and neat. Really kind hosts. Close to the ancient town and to the night train railway station.

It was a family hotel. When I booked it, only the smallest room was left. The landlord was very welcoming and the cleanliness could be improved.

Stayed for two days in total. It was great. The price was cheap, the room was clean, the environment was good, and it was close to the scenic spot. It was very good and satisfactory.

I went there on the second day of the ***** New Year. Hotels and B&Bs in the scenic area were too expensive. I booked the boss’ B&B online. It was pretty good, but the location was a bit out of the way. I booked a double bed room with my brother, and the boss gave me an extra bed. Quilt
