Amazones Village Suites

After arriving at this hotel, we were really impressed with how lovely the area and the hotel was. The room was above our expectations, the staff were friendly and the location was perfect. For the first 3 days of our holiday, we were really happy. However, we started noticing that the majority of hotel guests appeared to be regular attendees and they had a good rapport with staff, but we began to feel as though we were not receiving the same level of service. Trying to get a seat around the pool was near impossible as people claimed beds ridiculously early in the morning, some of which didn’t even occupy these beds until the afternoon, a few even leaving their towels on whilst leaving the complex. On the odd day that we were able to get a couple of hours round the pool, we felt as though we were being gawped at, whispered about and we were made to feel uncomfortable. There was an incident where a member of staff implied we had stolen a seat from a regular, baring in mind the seat was empty and there was no indication anyone was sitting here. From this point on, we felt as though we were being made to feel uncomfortable by other guests, we assumed that the staff member had been telling other guests about the incident with the seating. After a couple of days, we heard in the local village that a member of staff had posted a Facebook status complaining that they’d not received any tips and so we assume this is why we were receiving a cold shoulder from guests, we usually tip at the end of the holiday however, we decided against this now. We tried to spend as little time at the hotel as possible and therefore spent the majority of our time in the local village or down at the harbour. To sum up, lovely hotel, perfect location but be weary of the regulars who may not be so friendly.

I wasn’t staying in this hotel, for the three weeks I stayed in Piskopiano. A guest at the apartments where I was staying asked me if I had been to Amazones.. And explained that if I were to go and have a drink or a meal, the manager & staff would be quite happy for me to use their restaurant,pool and sun terrace.. So I walked up the steps from the village, which admittedly are quite steep.. And on arriving asked the lovely young woman for a soft drink 🥤 and a bacon sandwich.. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the view was from where I was sitting, overlooking the ocean. The swimming pool was immaculate & well maintained. There were lots of sun beds, available.. Needless to say I returned several times in the 3 weeks I was on holiday… A great big thank you to the manager & staff for making me feel so welcome ❤️🙏🏾

What an amazing place! 2 weeks in the sun being hosted by George & Nikos and the team for which nothing is too much trouble. Start your day with a wholesome breakfast & good company of the many returning guests. Need a car, no problem. Cars are available on site with no hassle & the panoramic views from the pool add to the R&R effect. 90% of guests are returning, some for 20 years so is testament in itself. We met some wonderful couples & individuals who we will keep in touch with & guess what! We are returning again next year. Arrive a stranger & most definitely leave with new friends & amazing memories. There are a choice of grades of room from the cost effective annex through to full suits with spa bath and a range of sea views so all budgets are catered for. Disappointingly it appears some book the more basic annex but complain they don’t have an apartment but this is the preference made when booking & is reflected in the price & the option to upgrade offered if rooms are available. The team cannot do enough for you. Expect to make some good memories & kick back & relax due to the perfect location being in walking distance of a host of bar’s & restaurants in the most perfect, hassle free environment.

I arrived here with my wife on 6th September for a two week stay. Upon arrival our cases were bundled onto a golf buggy by George the manager and we were driven 250 yards away down a steep hill to an annex building. I imagine this was acquired as a previously owned building as there is a disused swimming pool to the side of the building. The apartment was in a dreadful state of decoration and maintenance as follows: Rusted sink & draining board. Dirty fridge seal Shutter locks and handles damaged Terrible state of decoration Only four coat hangers in wardrobe Shower came off wall bracket when used Inadequate lighting See attached photos. The following morning I asked George for additional coat hangers. Although these were promised they were never delivered. We also had difficulty in regulating the air conditioning so I requested blankets. I was told these weren’t available. ( l have never stayed in similar accommodation where additional bedding wasn’t available somewhere in a cupboard). Personally, I found management disinterested in engaging with new guests like ourselves to the point of dismissiveness. The pool area, although well maintained, is crampted with little space between sunbeds. The umbrellas are fixed to the ground so there is no opportunity to move these into more shady positions in hot weather. Upon departure from the hotel, we handed in our key to bar staff and left without any acknowledgement or thanks by George, that we had stayed. This is probably the worst review I have ever submitted for any accommodation I’ve visited.

We have stayed in Piskopiano and Koutouloufari a few times but our first time at Amazones Village Suites. Everything from Check in to leaving was perfect, although we didn’t want to leave. Our room was a Junior Suite with side seat view room and was huge. The views from the balcony were amazing. The kitchen & fridge in the room was an extra bonus. Breakfast at the hotel was included and was everything you needed from Greek Yogurt & fruit to scrambled eggs and bacon with lots in-between. We had lunch and drinks at the hotel everyday and the service from the girls was excellent, food and drinks were very reasonable. The hotel pool is very spacious and didn’t have a problem getting subbeds, the view from the pool is breathy, looking down to the sea. We ate out every night in the 3 villages but always returned to the hotel bar at night as the atmosphere was great, Nikos the barman always making sure we had everything we needed and keeping us entertained. A big thank you to George & Nikos for a great holiday, such a lovely hotel we have already booked to return next year enjoy 😊

The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a friendly relaxed atmosphere around the bar and pool, breakfast was the usual choice no complaints, there was plenty of choice on menu during the day and evening, my son Loved the pizza and they serve food quite late which was a bonus, yes the rooms were quite basic , but it was clean and tidy , and I love eating out at all the lovely restaurants around the beautiful village so the kitchen area really didn’t bother us , would definitely go back
