Nice hotel with lovely interior courtyard perfectly situated in the center of the historic old town of Popoyan. Diego, at the front desk at check-in, was very very nice. Our room was large and comfortable, albeit a bit dated, and the bathroom was teeny tiny with no shelf space. Good hot shower. King bed (two twins pushed together) was comfy with nice pillows and sheets. No air con, but great ceiling fan. Room faced the street and was incredibly noisy. We needed to open the windows for air, but then couldn’t sleep with terrible street noise (and we live in NYC!). Ceiling fan really helped. Three stars is mostly due to somewhat indifferent staff attitude and the lack of basic amenities for a hotel that is presented as having a higher quality. We speak Spanish, so that was not an issue. For example, when we asked for body soap and shampoo dispensers to be refilled, we were told they didn’t have any more. We were here for three nights, and were told we only get one bottle of water per stay. Breakfast was spotty (one day cold eggs, one day hot) although the breakfast staff was very nice and doing their best. Three star hotel in five star location.
