This was our first trip to Hotel Riviera in Portoroz, Slovenia. Lovely hotel and lovely resort. So clean and nice staff. Excellent value for money .Good to be able to visit sister hotels with superb indoor pools.at the Lifeclass Spa.all within walking distance. All free for guests Great choice at breakfast and dinner. Easy walk to bars at night.. We had a sea view room which I would recommend Lovely seafront private area just over the road. Quality. .Have to pay for loungers however Piran is a must see, just a short bus ride away and we also managed a day trip to Lake Bled and a nice day out to Trieste In Italy
Hotel Vile Park

Before reservation the staff explained, the Vile were all renovated. Reading previous comments, i can guarantee the rooms in Vila Orada are all totaly renovated. They are bright, clean, fresh, tidy, very nicely renovated. All new. With air condition. Staff was very friendly, especially the cleaning staff. The helped with our baby and mess we did. Dinner and breakfast was superb. Tasty. A lot of choice. For children also. The only thing that was missing is warm drinks-tea at dinner for the kids. Our was ill. They were serving only bottled drinks and alcohol. We were told to buy it upstairs at the bar...so...a bit inpleasant if you are dining with sick children. Otherwise a great experiance. Would retourn.
Hotel Slovenija - Terme & Wellness LifeClass

Wellness Hotel Apollo – Terme & Wellness LifeClass

This was our first sea side vacation in Slovenia. The hotel is part of Life Class Hotels network which includes several more expensive and several less expensive hotels. Guests of all of them share the SPA facilities. I rated this hotel stay as “Very Good” mainly for its value for money. Otherwise, it is average. Hotel: this is a 4 star hotel and, apart from the food, old towels and having to pay for old bath robes, it is probably the 4 star hotel. The room is spacious and comfortable, very clean, large balcony with a table and chairs. The hotel and surroundings are quiet, even though it is kind of in the middle of a resort town. Mattresses are on a softer side and pillows are not that comfortable but all in all ok. TV has several programs in English including CNN, BBC, National Geographic, cartoons etc. Towels and bath robes are very old and really need to be replaced at this stage. Plus you have to pay for bath robes (!) euro 6 per one bath robe. It’s handy to have one because you can go to the SPA dressed in it. SPA: is very good. There are several swimming pools, one of them is with thermal mineral water which we liked. Another one is with sea water and has one part outside. The pools are clean and pleasant. Can get very busy when the weather is not great but it was manageable. There are plenty of massage and other SPA options. I didn’t use any but they looked very nice and not too expensive. Kids club: there is one on the prémisses. It is run on the Medusa beach in good weather or inside of the Apollo hotel in not so good weather. Animators seemed nice but not too engaged. Also, they never asked for my room number or my phone number so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the kids there without me being nearby for longer than 10 min. When the kids club is run on the beach, the beach is right next to the road. So it really is not an option to be used for child care and going off to the SPA. Kids enjoyed playing there though so I do recommend it. Beach: the hotel guests can use Medusa beach which is opposite the hotel (you need to cross the road to get there). Hotel guests pay Euro 18 for two loungers and one umbrella. It is expensive if you do this every day. The beach is nice and clean but it is rather busy and not that big. Sun loungers are on the grass, there is no sand there. You need to use the metal step ladder to get into water. There are small stones on the bottom in the water so worth getting beach / water shoes (Euro 15 in shops nearby). Otherwise, can be unpleasant, especially for kids. The water is probably around 1 meter deep when you get in so young kids won’t be able yo puddle in. Water seems clean but there are lots of boats nearby so you can see a bit of diesel in the water. There are showers on the beach and a nice cafe for lunch and drinks. Food: breakfast is limited but ok. The young lady Sara who is making omelettes is very nice and welcoming. Scrambled eggs however are really bad as if they were made
Kempinski Palace Portoroz Slovenia

Negative Review could have been avoided if the GM had the respect & decency to ever take the time to write back to me, after I wrote this Hotel over 5X without reply. Shocking to completely ignore me-hence the negative review as follows: . Unfortunately this Kempinski is not up to par and no way should be part of the Kempinski Hotel chain. It ”may” be 5 stars, but that is only, only due to the fact that are no other 5 star proper hotels nearby, that is if you wish to visit this part of he country, which I would not recommend either, except for the fact that it is nearby to Croatia and Trieste, Italy ( only one hour-each). To begin: 1st off I work in the Media and had long before making the reservations had made that clear. We had asked for a tour of the storied old hotel, and upon arrival, there was no mention of my work nor was that ever even ackowledged, nor was I ever offered any tour of the property or hotel during my entire stay. She later said 'I didn't reach out to HER” Hahha Next, while the Suite was indeed nice, the view is nothing special and looks out to a large unappealing water view. The stores across the street and a local beach. While the beach is ”ok”, it is not worth visiting, bc even though the Hotel does have its own little beach club area, it is nothing special and you are smack within the middle of a huge throng of local people and their families. EVERYWHERE, so there is no peace and quiet and the water is not appealing. Next, the pool was nice and large and attractive, but the service is poor at the pool and slow (the server took FOREVER to bring our drinks, I had to get up 3x just to find him, and the drinks are very skimpy in size, it is obvious that they ”pour measured amounts” in the glass and only fill 1/3 of the glass, while at the same time charging premium prices. ( ie: $25.00 for a glass of Champagne, and although very good Champagne, they only poured 1/3 of a glass. Disgraceful and I had to get the Manager as it was outrageous. Additionally, there are loud, screaming children running all around the pool and the staff does nothing to asuage the situation, despite my a number of times requesting assistance. Continued: Our Suite was quite large and modern w/nice appointments,1.5 baths and fairly nice modern furnishings and style- The hotel itself is vast and reasonably attractive ( although it is clearly surviving on it's namesake and located in an odd area that is NOT very appealing) as it faces across the boulevard along a string of assorted shops that were not high -end, and the ”sea” which was not beautiful as described or what they appear to indicate as such on the website. We recommend NOT staying in Portonoz, but to the adjacent charming smaller town which is MUCH more charming. Portonoz is over rated. The hotel is nice enough and we highly recommend staying in the Modern wing vs the other side, mainly because the other wing looks very depressing-half the place has the lights all off, and noone in the
