Secret Bay

This resort is incredible! I went with 4 friends to celebrate our 35 years of friendship. We stayed in 2 villas. Cliffside Zabuco II and Ti-Fey I. Each villa has its own infinity pool with amazing views of the ocean, the bay and Fort Shirley in the distance. The villas are all very private and quiet. We enjoyed dinner at Zing Zing Restaurant, and spent time at the lap pool and pool bar. Would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful eco-friendly resort.

This is truly a 6-star resort! We were invited to Secret Bay to look at their access for wheelchair users and were pleasantly surprised! After being warmly welcomed by staff at the welcome center, and receiving our iPhone for the stay (to stay in contact with staff and our villa host), we loaded into golf carts and headed up the hill. We checked into a 2-bedroom Zabuco Villa on the clifftop, rolled up the ramp to the lower deck and private infinity pool and straight to the elevator! Once upstairs, the open floor plan and wide doorways made it easy to get around. And the 360 degree views! OMG! We ate at the poolside restaurant the first night, Zing Zing and it was of course outstanding. Obligatory food pic attached. And the other super cool feature at Secret Bay is the wheelchair accessible funicular that happens to be the longest of its kind in the Caribbean. Our Villa Host Tashi, was absolutely adorable and took such wonderful care of us. She cooked us a breakfast each morning in our villa, complete with fresh local coffee and fresh squeezed passionfruit juice. Cooking, cleaning, laundry all taken care of upon request! I am told that she can be requested. Our drivers, Ryan & Tyron were also fantastic. They drove us all over the island to see the sights. Make sure you try to get to the Chocolate Factory when you go! And Kharlen, our photographer is responsible for many the amazing shots attached here. And finally our hosts from GEMS, Gregor (& Sandra) and Ryan. They were all so gracious and kind and we cannot wait to return! NOTE: I am a T-12 paraplegic and a full-time wheelchair user. I am also an adventure and travel addict and not your average wheelchair user. While this Island would not be considered accessible by American standards, there are a lot of things about the island that are "do-able." Please feel free to contact me if you want to go but you are unsure if it is for you. I promise, it is worth it!

The hotel has a restaurant with a French chef , every thing was good, the food amazing!!!!! Every villa has its own batter!!!!! The beach and the pool amazing!!!

Wow, Secret Bay truly exceeded our expectations. The resort is so natural and beautiful. The villas and buildings truly blend in with the nature and eco-friendly feel of the property. Everything was extremely clean and flawless. The food was outstanding-every meal we ate at the resort was delicious, unique and fit for a foodie. The craft cocktails were wonderful as well. Our Zabuco II villa Host, Martina, was very sweet, accommodating and wonderful. She made us some delicious breakfasts! Our favorite was the Salt Fish with Johnny Cakes. Jacob, with the bell staff, was also a ray of sunshine and was always so friendly and happy. We loved having the on-call concierge with the iPhone given to us during check in. That was extremely helpful and kept things stress-free. The daily morning affirmation texts were such a nice touch. The only things I would add to the room are darker shades covering the bathroom windows, some extra towel hooks or shelves and a full-length mirror. A little more guidance on the quantities/sizes in the pre-stocking amenities and guidance on how to tip for the taxis, tour guides, etc. would be helpful as well. We truly loved the setting of the resort and felt lucky looking at the gorgeous views every morning. We had so much fun seeing the birds, hummingbirds, iguanas and lizards every day. The snorkeling and access to Secret Beach was also a huge plus. Breathtaking. I could go on and on. We loved this experience! We would love to go back someday!

I cannot conceive of a more inviting and relaxing resort. It exudes tropical beauty, and exceptional privacy and comfort. My wife and I normally stay at upscale hotels and resorts that are highly regarded for their accommodations and guest services. Secret Bay, however, stands out from our other experiences. This in no small part due to its location on the Island of Dominica, and to the resort's genuinely warm and gracious Dominican staff.

Secret Bay Resort occupies two peninsulas ion the south side of the Bay at Portsmouth, Dominica. Accommodations are in individual villas which are luxuriously appointed and extremely functional. The grounds are spectacular - even at the end of the dry season, the resort was alive with birds because of the very expert planning of fruiting and flowering treas throughout the property. A host is assigned to each villa - Cletina looked after us wonderfully - breakfast at the villa, and all necessary arrangements during our stay. the concierge provided excellent coordination for the three activities that we booked.

Secret Bay is absolutely incredible! We went in with high expectations and they were met and more. The staff is so welcoming, the resort is pristine and well manicured, updated rooms, and very accomodating. At times it feels like you are the only folks at the ersort! An absolute oasis on the beautiful island of Dominica. The beach front is so serene, the lap pool is an exellent place to relax, and the food at Zing Zing is fabulous. All around an amazing stay. The highlight of our stay was we did a private cooking class in our villa with Chef Jenni! She is a wonderful chef and an all-around awesome human! She not only taught us how to cook, but made an increible meal and made us feel so welcome. Thanks again to the staff for the excellent stay. My friend and I spent a week at a beautiful villa at Secret Bay. I was so impressed with the villa, it was really well done. The villa was clean, well appointed and had beautiful appliances. I found it to be quite spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The pool was well maintained and kept at the perfect temperature. The hosts and staff were great - always available when you needed them, prompt and so friendly. I cannot say enough about our stay here, it was definitely a five out of five. I am going to be recommending this place to my family and friends.

If you want to avoid big crowded resorts in the carribean and come to a place with top notch accommodations and quality service, this is the place. The rooms are big and offer amazing views. The restaurant is very good and even accommodated our request for pizza one night. You can snorkel right from the resort beach. The service is friendly and fantastic.
