A Very well maintained Heritage Property with modern amenities. While the hotel has the old world charm it does not compromise on any modern facilities. We really enjoyed our short stay. A kind of very personalised care made us feel really special. We will certainly visit again.

We Visited this Property on 21st August 2024 and Booked 2 Rooms (3+2 stay) R1 and R2 in Residency Block, a 125 Year Old but Renovated Block, Property is Beautiful but Not managed Professionally, No Room Service,No intercom,No wifi. We met property owner also Very Nice old Couple as they are around 80 years as we estimated,we observed that its Difficult for them to Manage,They Appointed one Gate keeper Main Gate entry,who never sits at his place to open main gate,Every time we've to jump out of our Vehicle to open Big property entry Gate ,that fellow keep Roaming in Property and not Doing his work,We feel same is the Case with other employees. At 3:30PM we were told Kitchen is Closed at 2:30PM but on our insistence they served us Snacks, Property is over priced as Compared to the services and Maintenance of Property. Anyway if you are Visiting this Property don't expect much, Overall employees behaviour was Good

The rooms are good but the service this time was very poor. The staff was least interested to serve properly. The breakfast was below average, the pakoras had capsicum fried in it. The drinks took ages to be served. I am a regular visitor but this time I was very disappointed

Mixed feelings here. It was early February on a tour with 35 people. Arrived in cold and very wet weather. Layering is not a great description of what you need to come to this area or Shimla - take very warm, waterproof clothes and footwear. Hot water bottle needed here as the rooms are freezing even with the portable heaters. The bathrooms may as well be outside and the hot water isn't reliable! The food is lovely and the folk are so welcoming and homely. I'd love to enjoy this place in a hot summers day when you could utilise the seating and garden. I wouldn't return though. A heritage village may be picturesque on a warm dry day but it was not!

The Judges Court is a beautiful heritage property, peaceful and tranquil. We were given a choice of two rooms, however we chose the first one we saw. It was a massive room with an equally huge bathroom with a walk in shower for 4 people, a claw foot tub ! It was obvious that the room was being refurbished and wasn’t quite finished, but it did not deter from the fact it very clean and well maintained. The room opened out into the central courtyard which was a bonus. Our meals were delicious and adequate and served to us by friendly waiters. They do have a couple of dogs, however they snoozed the afternoon away and apart from the odd bark, they were no bother at all , I totally recommend this hotel especially after the refurbishment to our room has been finished. At checkout , I got a call from the owner (?) who asked me if I have had a pleasant stay, I thought that a very nice touch. Thank you for looking after us.

This is not a five star hotel in the normally accepted sense but warrants a 5 star trip advisor rating from me. Why? Because this place is unique and wonderful. All the rooms are full of heritage furniture and exude a lived in atmosphere and the history of the owners. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean ( a few of the soft furnishings had seen better days but really its part of the overall experience) and our suite had a very new and modern shower room with plenty of hot water. There is a great bar, and as it was chilly after sunset the staff were happy the light the open fire. Again a place filled with history. The restaurant serves a fairly limited menu of local cuisine but what we ate could not be faulted. Chicken and mutton curries were delicious. Breakfast is also good with eggs cooked to your preference, a variety of other hot dishes, fruit, cereals, toast served in a proper toast rack and great marmalade. If you have time and don’t want to go far there are so many cosy corners to settle down in with a good book, and the views from the roof are fantastic. Staff are all friendly, helpful and welcoming. I know The Judges Court won’t suit everyone but I would happily have stayed longer. I know it won’t be to

This is a wonderful and unique place to stay. A well preserved old building with original furnishings and a distinctive charm. We stayed in the Judge’s rooms on the first floor of the main building. It was a large room with its own dressing room and modern en-suite shower room. The bed was huge and enormously comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We visited the Whisky Priest Bar in the evenings and enjoyed some aperitifs before dinner in the restaurant. They take your selections from the menu around 5pm and ask what time you would like to dine. The bar opens at 6pm and closes at 10pm - the same as the restaurant. The menu has a decent mixture of western and local tastes and we enjoyed two super dinners (Butter Chicken, Aloo Meethi and stuffed parathas the first night and we substituted a Mutton Curry for the chicken the second evening). Breakfast was also very good. We were due to visit a couple of temples during our stay but decided to simply rest and soak up the atmosphere of Judges Court instead. The bustling village of Pragpur is a 10 minute stroll away.

This is a very acceptable place to stay as long as one manages expectations. The building is old (of course - that's the point) and has not been upgraded to modern standards. The rooms were large, generally clean and comfortable, the bathrooms basic but functional. We were there during the winter and there was a small problem keeping the dining room warm. The meals were surprisingly good (we were blown away by the bread and butter pudding, apparently a tradition left over from the British). Staff where friendly and keen to help.

The Judges Court is a heritage hotel with all the comforts. There are not many such hotels with old fashioned door locks available now. The hotel was chosen by our tour consultant and we felt privileged and very satisfied to have had the opportunity to stay with them. All the staff were friendly and happy to help at all times. Our room was spacious and very comfortable . The gardens are a luxury with a variety of fruit trees like lychee, clove, pomelo and camphor. The food served was fresh and delicious. It is possible to have short and longer walks in the surrounding natural beauty.
