La Isla y El Mar, Hotel Boutique

Not what I expected, but in a really positive way. Arrived late on Thursday evening and was welcomed at reception with a glass of cava and an introduction to the Boy! The boy - a young man who is on hand 24/7 and literally brightens up the hotel with his personality and willingness to help with everything. We enquired as to what the best options were to visit another resort to be told don’t worry - if you get stuck just call reception and we will send the boy to pick you up - example of going over and above. We stayed in a beautiful suite, spacious with all amenities you need along with Rituals lotions, all these small things add up. The hotel is spotless, the breakfast experience is 10/10 with the manager Reuben been on top of everything and I couldn’t find fault with anything, breakfast served to you plus the option for continental style. To the extent whereby on my last day I walked in and he already knew what I’d like and it was there freshly made within minutes. Pool area lounges and chill out area on par with places in the middle east at double the cost. Option to upgrade to halfboard for a small amount should you like which seemed very reasonable when we enquired. All in all a fantastic 7 days and we could happily extend the stay. Will be coming back

Just back from 5 days of bliss. Arrived on early flight so at hotel before midday. Didn’t have to wait long at all for our room which was stunning. We had booked an Atlantic view suite. Staff are so so helpful. The pool loungers are divine! Was worried that there wouldn’t be enough sun loungers as pool area is small but always worked out and lots of loungers in chill out area too. Fresh warm pool towels whenever you want them too! The place is spotless with staff constantly working throughout the complex. We will be back!

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. The views are to die for especially on the rooftop terrace. On checking out it was all made very easy and we were allowed a complementary shower before leaving. We will most certainly be back. Definitely 5 stars

2nd visit to this hotel this year, there is nothing to complain about, hotel is wonderful - from friendliness of staff to cleanliness of grounds/rooms etc honestly the tranquility is unbeatable. We decided to do half board this time and value is great, never to busy morning or evening. We will be back as this hotel gives you Everton need for a relaxing holiday.

We have had a great stay at La Isla Y el Mar. We where here for 1 week and got everything we where looking for. The staff is very qualified and friendly. The food is exceptional in quality and the bar offers very unique cocktails totally in style. The hotel and rooms were very clean. We would recommend this hotel and restaurant to everyone.

We stayed in the Junior Suite for 10 nights, and really enjoyed our stay. We loved the reflective decor, with lots of greenery everywhere. Walking around Puerto Del Carmen, La Isla was definitely the best looking hotel. ROOM AND HOTEL - The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the bathrooms are beautiful. The personal sun-beds on the porch are a nice touch. There was a nice view over the sea at the end of the garden area. The hotel complex itself is fairly small and easy to navigate, everywhere you look is clean, stylish and full of nice plants. The pool area is nice and calm, the sunbeds are really comfortable and the whole place looks like really nice. We also enjoyed the sun bed area that looks over the harbour, it’s a great view. Nice choice of pool drinks, and we enjoyed the 4pm to 5pm happy hour! Although we felt sorry for the staff as they were quite overworked during this period and the barman needed a bit more help. But he was still calm and the service from him was excellent throughout. The pool is small but it was also heated and lovely to sit and have a drink in. FOOD AND DRINKS - The food here is fantastic; breakfast has lots of choice, and the pastrami sandwich at the pool bar was lovely (we must have bought it at-least 5 times!). We only tried the in-house restaurant once, but the Beef Stroganoff we had was the best thing we ate all holiday. We didn’t eat at the Kentia Bar, only drinks, but it’s easily the best looking bar in Lanzarote. Just a shame that it never seemed to get busy as there wasn’t much atmosphere! But we didn’t mind too much. LOCATION - There is a SuperDino supermarket 2 mins away which is useful. The hotel is located at the top of a hill, but we got used to it and it’s no problem. There’s a lovely cafe called Kalma just across the road which was always busy. It’s about 7-10 minutes walk to the Old Town/Harbour, and 15 minutes walk to the main *****. Again, we got used to it and it wasn’t a problem. If you like to be in the middle of everything then this probably isn’t the place for you, but if you like peace away from the hustle and bustle it’s perfect. There’s a shopping centre on the way to the main ***** which has some really nice shops, Pull & Bull, Rayban etc. They even have parking if you want to hire a car, and also a bike storage room. STAFF - The staff were fantastic and make this hotel 5*. Unfortunately I can’t remember names but everyone on the Reception, at the buffet/restaurant and at the pool were really professional and willing to help. You can tell that they all genuinely care and take pride in their work. Overall, for couples who want a relaxing holiday in Puerto Del Carmen, this is the best option. We would definitely return!

What a beautiful hotel this is. We have stayed in PDC several times but this exceeds them all. We stayed in the 900 block which had a partial sea view and was very quiet. The rooms are super clean and spacious, with Rituals toiletries in the bathroom. Sun loungers and chairs on the terrace which is a nice touch for choice. The pool area has plenty of sun loungers too and a nice chill out area with double beds, there was always loungers available anytime of the day. Pool towels are provided free of charge.It’s an adult only establishment which is quiet and tranquil. Breakfast had plenty of selection from cooked breakfast, pastries, cheese, yoghurts, fruit and a separate menu included cooked fresh to order such as eggs Benedict and omelettes. We also ate once in the a la carte one evening which served delicious food and cocktails. It’s set in the old town close to plenty of amenities, highly recommend this hotel.

This was our second time staying at La Isla Y El Mar and I have to say it did not disappoint. The staff were excellent, especially the waiting staff in the restaurant who had to put up with a couple of muppets moaning at them. They handled the petty complaints very well with professionalism and calm.

We have just returned from a 5 night break at this hotel and stayed in room 109 which was an Atlantic Excellence Suite. We had emailed the hotel a couple of times prior to visiting and got responses within the hour which was great. This hotel is simply stunning, spotlessly clean with beautifully manicured gardens throughout. I don't think I've ever been to a hotel that has been so peaceful and quiet. The rooms are large and spacious with fantastic views and spotlessly clean. The hotels bars and restaurants are very well themed and have a great range of products on offer. The pools have plenty of sun loungers and are very peaceful and quiet. By far the hotels biggest asset are it's wonderful team of staff who were very professional and super friendly, often stopping what they were doing to have a friendly conversation about what we had been up to that day. They all made us feel very welcomed and nothing was too much bother for them. I have to put a big shout out for Maria (Marie) in the breakfast restaurant who literally went out of her way, every morning to ensure we had the best experience possible. This has been the best customer service of any hotel in the Canaries and mainland Spain we have ever received and I hope the management team appreciate the value of the team as they most certainly gave us an amazing experience. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday with amazing customer service then this is the hotel for you. A big thanks to the hotel and it's outstanding team for an unforgettable holiday.
