Gorgonia Beach Resort

Very nice place to go. Have been there twice and I surely come again. Everything in wonderful: resort, beach, see and rift for snorkeling, animation, food and drink, housekeeping and all the rest. What about any more? Anything else. You have to visit it!

Gorgonia promoted in Poland as 5*, deserves a weak 4* in my opinion. The rooms are large and spacious, but require a little refreshing. Cleaning of varying quality. Big applause for the gardeners, because the area, although extensive, is well-kept. The staff in beach bars seem to work as punishment. Pool bar ok, main restaurant and fish restaurant all deserve praise. When it comes to food, the worst breakfasts, good lunches, great dinners. The alcohol (without beer and gin) is local and of poor quality. The animators are friendly and try to diversify your stay. House reef is accessible mainly from long pier. Unfortunately, global warming is definitely not good for it. Mr. Sherif from the reception deserves our Special Mention. He answered all our questions, was able to adequately explain our doubts, was helpful in contacts with the resident, and we could count on his support throughout our stay. We visit Egypt quite often, but next time we will choose something closer to Marsa Alam airport. Especially since the 4* hotels we have been visiting for years are of much better quality

The hotel is beautiful with beautiful gardens and very aesthetic architecture. The way bungalows are disposed guarantees everyone easy and fast access to beach and pool. Room was spacious with pretty view on the garden. Good air conditioning, very necessary with this extreme heat 36 degrees Celcius in September. The room and bathroom is pretty but not luxurious and a bit old. One should not be thinicky on details. Shower was difficult to regulate. The location of the hotel was ideal for snorkeling. We went twice on a one day excursion for snorkeling, but our best experiences were in fact at the hotel. No need to go further. We saw the most different species at the jetty with turtles and everything you could imagine. The coral was wonderful too. We made some great quad safari located directly outside the hotel, which was a very great experience. The 2 brothers are very friendly. I recommend them to you. The pools are big and beautiful, with seagulls drinking and bathing next to you. No need to rush for lying chairs in the shade. There were plenty enough. Now comes the negative points. When we arrived we were disappointed by the attitude of employees at the reception. Not welcoming at all, no smile, very nonchalant and very little English, difficult to communicate with. We litteraly felt not welcome. Hardly no information was given except the keys and card for towels. We thought it was the wrong time but throughout our stay, they remained like that. Nothing was organised to give us information on the hotel, we just had to find out by ourselves, sometimes very late in our stay where things were. Activities and animations were not clearly communicated and animation was very poor. We hardly didn't see animation staff. I am surprised by other reviews saying staff is very friendly because this was not at all our experience. Except a few people at the restaurant, we rarely had to deal with warm smiley faces. In fact I think it was the only hotel we stayed at, and we travelled a lot around the world, where the staff was so unfriendly and not customer orientated. Bored and with minimal effort. At many times we felt that we were bothering them. The food was good but not excellent. Very repetitive and lacking in choice of meat and fish. The freshly cooked pastas were delicious though. White wine we tried first day was terrible so we drank soft drinks with meals. The reception and restaurant have no air conditioning, which is uncomfortable as it is extremely hot outside and the big fans are rare and we had to be lucky to get a table near one of them. Some tables were even reserved, probably against tips, which I don't find very fair. You could equally feel the difference in service quality at the bar if you give them tips or not. This should not be the case. I like to give tips because of a good service and not to have a good service. The beach was a bit disappointing. I love the hotel! Beautiful beachview right infront of my room. Best Animation team with amazing Shows everyday. Beautiful ocean with turtles, rays and lots of fish. Good and varied food with lots of tasty fruits everyday. Amazing dancers and very kind people :)

The place is amazing. I really loved it. I welcomed people who were amazing. The food was delicious and the best. I loved the place. I will recommend it to everyone sincerely, knowing that it is not the first time in Kars and this place is no exception.

What else to add…! It is the nineth time we spend our vacation at Gorgonia Beach Marsa Alam…and every time we find something which surprises us. Resort, restaurant, bar, beach, reef, crew…everything super! This time I would like to especially mention the quad team…their kindness professionalism competence can assure a fantastic tour in the middle of desert exploring surroundings which leave you without breathe…! Thanks to Mustafa, their account manager, for his explanations and support…tour in the night highly recommended!

The most beautifull place in Egypt what we have ever seen, atmosphere, services and beauty of this nature is really amazing, we highly recommend this hotel, the beach is so beautifull and clear and the hotel is quiet, thank you very much :-))

We just returned from 4 lovely weeks in Gorgonia Beach Resort. Before we return again in december, I would just like to thank all of the staff for the wondefull holiday. As a repeater to this hotel we really feel welcome and special. We were able to stay in our preferred room and the housekeeping was amazing as ever. This time we celebrated the 16th birthday of the hotel with an amazing cake in the shape of the hotel. This was combined with the celebration of Ferragosto. What a great day with an amazing show at night and also the foamparty was a big success. I would just like to give some extra credits to the great animationteam form both the hotel (Mo - strong man, Hoka, Emmy, Lucy, ZIzo) and from Franco Rosso (Mattia, Chris, Tony and the others) They worked very well togehter and made all the guests special and welcome. Last but not least a shoutout for Mustafa (Musty) and Abdallah from the beach sport activities. They are amazing. But in all fairness, so are all the staffmembers who work in the garden, in housekeeping etc. For us, Gorgonia is the best place to be in Marsa Alam (and we have seen some hotels in MArsa Alam). Great food, very clean, available for people with disabilities and a beautiful reef with a great diving school (TGI). We can't wait to seel you all again soon in december.
