We were there almost 2 weeks in August/Sepyember. 2 adults, 2 children 11,8 yrs. From the begining a nice welcome at the lobby, fast accomodation, very helpfull staff on many questuons, not even connected wit the hitel itself. We were under an impression of service everywhere, from the frontdesk to restaurants and facilities, like SPA - which I recommend much, its a must - completing the while stay in this „paradiae like”place. Very large rooms, comfortable, cleaned every day, minibar filled daily, included. Food in restaurants - plenty of everything, tasty, niclely served. I recommend giant prawnes & lobster from a’la carte restaurants, delicious & pretty served. My kods had lot of food to choose, they tasted most of the dishes, nit only pasta & pizza, which are on a daily basis for demanding children ;) I would like to give special thanks to guys on boat booth and diving center, they made a good recomendatiins for facultitave trips, which I enjoyed the most. And do t forget about having a massage there, I will write it once more, worth definitelly. People of Mauritius - you are amazing and you do magnificent job there, not spotyed elsewhere.

Further to my husband's review of Ambre Mauritius 4 days ago, I would like to comment as follows:- after many discussions with the beverage manager, beverage director, and General Manager Sandeep, it seems all of our issues regarding our first week of our holiday have been listened to, addressed and acted upon. We feel we were completely correct to point out the short comings so that improvements could be made. To be fair, they have listened, obviously understood our concerns and gone above and beyond to rectify the situation. Sandeep has realised that staff training and direction has to be pinpointed as a cause so that a consistant level of service is acheived. In our opinion, levels of service have undoubtedly improved since our complaint was acted upon and we are grateful to Sandeep and his team for that. We would like to recognise Ben who is a supervisor in the Indigo restaurant. His attention to detail is second to none. We love his attitude to ensure that our dinner is as good as possibly it can be, love his humour, so credit where credit is due. In short, Ambre Hotel have turned our holiday around from great surroundings and location with mediocre service, to the holiday we wanted before coming out here. We will be sorry to leave tomorrow.

We just left this paradise after 9 nights. We immediately felt at home when we arrive after the exceptional hospitality of all the front desk team. As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a welcome drink and a fresh towel. I am hotelier as well and the feeling that everything is under control means real luxury. We immediately felt it! The location of the hotel is fabulous with one of the most beautiful beach I have ever seen! The entire staff is dedicated to you to make sure you will have a memorable stay. They do have an excellent kids club with a nanny service and our daughter was so happy there. The kindness of the staff is incredible. The treatments at the Spa were incredible with extremely professional therapists. Sheilveena at the Reservation department is a pure star. She is making sure that all your pre arrival requests are done. Rooben and Stephane are running perfectly the dinning room. The crepe station between 15h to 18h is perfect for break in the afternoon. I highly recommend The Residence - it’s an excellent 5 stars hotel. We will definitely be back after this memorable family stay. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and your outstanding guest service.

This hotel located on a beautiful lagoon area is exceptionally well managed. The staff are all very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel offers some 60 or so rooms, adults only, with a good sized infinity pool, which on our visit was never over used and plenty of times was almost empty, yet fabulous to use. We was on a half board basis, and the breakfast boasted an extensive selection from the large well stocked buffet and a selection of other hot foods, all of which were of very good quality and served with impeccable standards. Evening meals were from a large selection and bordering on Michelin star quality standards and service. In the time we stayed for a week, we never ran out of choices of an evening, in fact never completely extended our possible choices. The rooms were very well appointed, suitably sized for your needs, and regularly serviced. We had an exceptional week and enjoyed our stay to the upmost. An extensive array of sun beds and booths align the beachfront. They are on a first come basis, which can lead to disappointment, but on no occasion was there ever the morning race to select or get a space, with more than sufficient for all of the guests.

We had the most wonderful experience at C mauritius resort hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Mrs Karen the Front Office Manager, Mr. Nevin the receptionist and Bradley the bell boy. The staffs of the hotel were always ready to help and all of them were very friendly. The food and the service were excellent. The room are so big, spacious and well cleaned, the bed was super comfortable and had a good restfull night sleep. We were well served at the bar Andiket was amazing. At the buffet restaurant we were warming welcome by Mr. Jess what a nice man give us all the restaurant information. Nice swimming pool fabulous relaxing corner. The view was a sight to behold and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to spend the dream tropical holidays. We recommend this hotel if you are looking to have best time in Mauritius ❤️❤️

I have a mixed review on this hotel. I love the beach of this hotel, but hated the food and the restaurant. First the best part: for this hotel the main point is 100% the beach. This hotel has a nice and quiet beach. Even some corals and fish right there. However note that the beach is NOT suitable for small kids, gets deep very fast and has strong currents and many times also waves. Also adults need caution: do not go much outside the marked swim lines alone: during our stay, a man almost drowned here bc he had gone swimming outside the marked swimming area and too close to the reef and was unable to swim back bc of the strong current, then panicked and swallowed water. He was saved just by a strike of luck (a local fisherman saw him and managed to save him). Read about Mauritius in advance: there is a reef but it has holes which create strong currents that will take you to open sea like it or not. Do not underestimate the power of the sea. Our room was ok. The AC was noisy and the bathroom had oddly very low cealing, my husband was not able to stand in the shower. One day when we came back to our room, we found the door wide open (left by housekeeping)... Then to the main negative: the restaurant and the food. It was bad. The restaurant is so badly organized that I don't even have words. The layout is all wrong. Desserts are laid out first when you come in (usually you take them last!). The bread is on the other side and the butter on the other. The selection is very scarce and poor (we also stayed at Coin de Mire Attitude which has a lot more selection). The frying area is in the middle which sends heat and steam to the whole restaurant... Many times the restaurant was very hot. And there are two huge columns in front of the buffet food desks so there is always hurdles in the buffet when people try to fit in there. Just horrible, they should immediately start to think how they can actually make the restaurant layout work and also how they would more effectively put the food at display and also get in some more selections in there. Like at breakfast you actually have to always ASK for bacon which they get to you from the back room. What a hassle, what kind of a hotel does this? Zero points for the restaurant and also the food was nothing to write home about. Also, lunch options were very poor if you have half board. No lunch or basically anything (taba-j was a joke) available for lunch after 2.30 pm. No restaurants near. So if you stay here, you basically have to have all inclusive if you want to survive. The service at the reception was good. We took a car with Melody car rental (organized through the hotel) which I can recommend. The hotel is kinda in a remote area (and the Trou village is not good) so highly recommend getting a car for a few days. The hotel pool is quite small, so we didn't really stay there much.
