Hotel Manuel Antonio Park

Got 2 rooms: parents & kids. Had air conditioning which worked great. Maid service was good & daily if you want. Pool was nice place to drink & cigar at night. Right near by the Park entrance. Convenient store & Gelato store about 100 - 200 yards from hotel near Park entrance. Also walk down hill to beach & restaurants. Decent breakfast. Had TV, ESPN/NFL was on otherwise everything else in Spanish. Wifi was good to stream.

They have air conditioning and private rooms for very inexpensive prices. The employees are also very kind and from the patios you can see animals. It’s not the best hostel I’ve stayed in, but you get what you pay for and I appreciate that.

Hotel administration disables electricity from 3 to 5 am, leaving the guests without means to freshen the room in a very hot night, as rooms have no windows to open. We stayed here over other places looking for a night of comfort near by the park. It would have been better staying with the fan-based room at the cheap hostel near by. I won’t return nor refer this place to anyone, ever.

Older hotel and a bit tired, but only 200m from the Park entrance and 400m from the beach. Friendly and efficient Reception (Juan Carlos) who arranged our excellent park guide (Henry) and our tours, US$70 for a clean Standard room with good bed, small attached bathroom, A/C with good TV and internet, adequate breakfast. DId I mention it was only 200 metres from the park entrance?

Totally disorganized and could not find our reservation. The rooms except for one building are totally dated, we had to move twice. And even the modern room we were moved into had toilet paper stuffed into a crack in the door. They only gave us one key. Coffee was terrible juices were not fresh squeezed.

Location is convenient, just a few minutes walk from the entrance to the NP, beach and restaurants. I stayed in three different rooms as arrived with a group tour then stayed on. The double double rooms in two storey block overlooking the pool are modern and a great size with comfortable beds, and soft sheets and towels. Some are bigger than others, not sure how many price levels there are. I would recommend these rooms. The single/ lead in rooms are in need of upgrade with tiny bathrooms, less natural light, no privacy curtains and a slight whiff of sewerage. They're also closer to main road so expect traffic noise from about 7am (and with the park so near traffic is constant as are the whistles). Bed was still comfortable but my sheets were stained and towels were smaller and threadbare compared to those in newer rooms). I don't think these rooms represent good value for money and I don't recommend. Air conditioning was hit and miss. Some rooms were freezing at 24 degrees setting, others were warm at 16 degrees setting. When engineer was available along with English speaking reception issues were dealt with quickly. At other times issues waited overnight (which isn't ideal when room is too warm for comfort) Breakfast was passable, at best. Service was very mixed. The main receptionist (manager?) speaks good English and was helpful and friendly. Others were friendly enough but communication was sometimes difficult and there was an impatient edge. Owner is awful: rude, impatient, clearly only interested in personal gain. When I raised an issue she was quick to dismiss me until she realised I had been part of the tour group, when she was suddenly more interested in finding a compromise. Overall I definitely wouldn't recommend lead in rooms, and I'd be hesitant to recommend the better rooms while the service is so unreliable.
