Hotel Rapallo dengan Gim

This hotel is in a fantastic location, the owners have obviously spent a bit taking it up to a high standard. The reception staff we met Natalia, Walter and Katherine were all warm, fun and very helpful. The owner put in an amazing 18 hour plus days wondering about the place. He didn't seem to do very much but obviously passionate about the business. Lucky for him he had Carola running about the restaurant in the morning saving him by doing the work of 5 people. One of her colleagues described her as ”Una brava persona” and I totally agree. If you are not into DJ's blasting tunes at full volume while you try and have an evening meal or plan on sleeping before 1am this is not the venue for you. We didn't dine here for that reason and luckily were not early bed'ers. Life music was great and overall a pleasurable stay in the beautiful Rapallo.

The location was perfect and we are lucky enough to find street parking just outside the hotel. However, due to the lack of blanket (only a thin sheet of cloth and a unwashable thick blanket in wardrobe), we were unable to get a good night sleep. Also, the handle of the toilet was broken.

Only four or five minutes walk from the railway station with wheeled baggage and very easy to find, it is also only a couple of minutes from the beach area as well as numerous restaurants and bars, as well as the tourist ferry to Portofino and Santa Mergherita Ligure. The only downside at time of writing with regards location is the construction work going on right outside the hotel, however it didn't really cause much of an issue with regards noise or dust. Check-in and out were quick and easy and done with a smile. The double room we had was a fair size with a fridge, shower in a bathtub, comfortable bed and pillows, good wifi, a safety-deposit box and air-conditioning. Plenty of space. But no kettle with instant coffee/tea like most 4 start hotels I have been in when in Italy. Breakfast is strange. Advertised from 07:00 to 10:00. If you arrive at 07:00 there is cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissants, pastries as well as two types of cold meat and cheese as well as bread and hard boiled eggs. But sitting on the counter is a big metal food retainer of the sort used to keep scrambled eggs, bacon/sausages normally......but nothing in it except hot water and a spoon in front of it. I asked and was told that they don't fill it until 08:00. Don't know what with but presumably bacon, sausages, scrambled egg or similar. So if o go for breakfast at 07:00 to 08:00 you won't get any of that, only if you from 08:00 onwards. I felt like returning for a second breakfast at 08:00 !! Rather strange way of ding things, advertising breakfast at 07:00 but the full breakfast buffet is not actually available until 08:00. And that is my only gripe. Otherwise, a decent hotel although by no means cheap and yet not luxurious.

Lovely hotel in a great location near to shops and restaurants and only 3 minutes walk to the beautiful sea-front promenade. Our room was on the top floor - small elevator up to 4th floor and a few steps further to the 5th - with direct access to the large shared terrace, which had an amazing view and was the perfect place to relax with a drink and a good book in the late afternoon sun. The room itself was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed, TV, air-conditioning, and good-sized fridge that chilled our drinks perfectly. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast option, so can't comment on the range/quality, but we did enjoy a lovely limoncello from the bar one evening, and also gratefully accepted a couple of espressos when we first arrived and were waiting for the room to be ready - a lot earlier than the official check-in time, thanks to the extremely helpful staff. Actually, the number of reviews mentioning the helpfulness of the staff was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel for our stay, and I have to agree. Even before we arrived, Lucrezia was so helpful in arranging our transfer from Genoa airport, and also recommended and booked a restaurant for our first night's meal (a special one for my husband's birthday).
