A great place to visit in any season. Close to everything (train station, city center, restaurants, beach...), but still quiet enough for a good sleep. The service was fantastic, with great breakfast, support to leave our bags there to make our last walk more comfortable. Spotless clean and has a lovely decoration (we love cats!) with modern facilities and affordable price - also for larger families like us. Very, very friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful little town which was perfect for a small vacation. Would love to return in the spring/summer season to discover everything the Ligurian Riviera can offer. Many thanks again for your true Italian hospitality and the great experience.

We had a great experience staying in this hotel for 3 nights, the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast buffet had a good variety of fresh products. A plus is the short walking distance to the train station. When I left a personal belonging at the hotel, the staff immediately responded my message and had the item sent to my next location. Highly recommend staying at Il gatto!

This is an excellent small, clean hotel in a very good location only some ten or so minutes gentle walk from the Rapallo sea front. The staff are all very helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable and the breakfast was excellent.

After travelling around Italy for almost six weeks and staying in about 15 different hotels (3 and 4 star), I came across the Hotel Il Gatto on the internet and I am so glad that I did, because it was without doubt the best (by far) of all of them! Maybe 6 or 7 minutes walk from the railway station with a wheeled suitcase, it was simple to find. The hotel is not in the touristy *****, but further back in town, however that is actually a good thing as the area is quieter. And indeed, in reality.....it's only a 6 or 7 minute walk at most to get to the touristy area with the bars and restaurants. So perfectly located. I was originally only going to stay for three nights but after being at Il Gatto for one night decided to extend by another four nights. During this time I stayed in two different rooms and both were immaculately clean, had comfortable beds, TVs, very reliable and fast internet wifi (free) as well as the usual toiletries. The decor throughout the hotel is lovely.....really nice and not over the top. Nor plain and boring either as you might find in a large hotel chain type place. Very nice and well thought out. Breakfast was tasty. Fruit juices, coffee freshly made, croissants, pastries, rolls, bread, cold meat, cheese, waffles, pancakes, jams, yoghurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs. All fresh and served with a smile. Although I wasn't driving, I noted that the hotel has two dedicated short-time spaces on the road right outside for those who are checking-in or checking-out. I saw a couple of other guests using them. There is also a courtyard/terrace area at the front of the hotel with nice outdoor wooden tables and chairs...great to sit and have a beer. And it does stock some great Italian beer and at a cost which is less than many of the bars. But most of all, the great thing about this pretty, beautifully decorated, boutique hotel? It is the staff. From the proprietor himself, the evening/night staff, those serving breakfast and cleaning the rooms, without a single exception; all were extremely friendly and helpful. The proprietor also happens to speaks excellent English as do the night reception staff. A genuinely great experience. I have travelled to numerous countries during the past four decades and stayed at many hotels and I can genuinely say that even though some were 5 star or large resort hotels with pools and extensive facilities, none of them made me feel as welcome, as the staff did at Hotel Il Gatto. Value for money. You bet! If I return to Rapallo in the future, I know where to stay without any hesitation.

L'Hotel è veramente carino ed accogliente ed il personale veramente gentile e disponibile. Le camere e tutti gli ambienti sono ordinati e puliti. Colazione all'altezza delle aspettative. E' assolutamente una sistemazione molto valida. Vicinissimo al centro e quindi al mare.

Il servizio era ottimo. La camera era pulita. Il personale era molto gentile e disponibile. La colazione era buona e abbondante. Ci tornerei volentieri. Lo consiglierei ad amici. La camera che ci hanno assegnato era tranquilla, senza rumori che potessero disturbare.
