Hotel Redmond dengan Sarapan

Breakfast is all carbs (waffles and bagels and high sugar yogurt). Fortunately I was able to get a hard boiled egg but I would have liked scrambled with some bacon or sausage.

I arrived yesterday. I’ll be here for almost a week, from Saturday night to Friday. I was out for the day, getting out early before 9:00am. When I got back to the hotel around 6:30pm they didn’t do house keeping at all. The bed was not done, towels on the floor not changed.. nothing at all. I went to reception to complain and they say it’s their policy to ask if people want house keeping when doing check-on. Because of COVID/whatever excuses…. Excuse me? What? And of course no one asked me such a thing when checking in!!! Is this a new and nice hotel costing minimum of $250 per night? Unbelievable… I was not expecting this in a new hotel like this…

My wife and I have stayed here a few times. Redmond is a charming town and the Marriot is right in the thick of it with many restaurants within walking distance, a riverfront walkway close by and even an indoor mini golf course/bar across the street! They don't have any suites and the rooms are all pretty much the same, on the smaller size but nicely enough appointed and I do appreciate the in room Starbucks. This time we got lucky and scored one of the very few balcony rooms. The balconies are surprisingly large and have two comfy chairs and a table but they don't have any sort of overhang and it had been raining recently so the chairs were unfortunately soaking. In the Summer though these rooms would be awesome. Last time we stayed here in April, the highlight of our stay was the fantastic breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We are Platinum Elite and were allowed to order any thing of the menu last time. This stay we were told we were restricted to only two items on a two page menu. I asked if we could pay extra and order something else but our server (who was very nice otherwise!) said no and explained that the logic was that this was the sort of meal we could expect if the club lounge was open (it's closed on Weekends). We both ended up ordering the ”American” which was basically bacon and eggs. Ironically it was the second most expensive thing on the menu so we were perplexed as to why we couldn't order something else. Unfortunately this kind of ruined our experience, the food was only lukewarm and edible but underwelming. As others have noted, parking is valet and pricey for the area but drive a couple of blocks and there's tons of free parking.

It’s location is nice and convenient. And the surrounding with trees, river, and trails makes it a better choice than Hilton Garden!

I should have followed my gut on this one. Everything from booking to actually staying at the hotel has been a disaster, but the biggest red flag besides the rooms being dirty and the shower head being loose and spraying all over the bathroom floor is the fact that management tried to enter my room. I was woken up around 10:30 am on Friday morning by someone pounding on my door and trying to gain entry. I sleep with earplugs in, as I work the night shift and the housekeeping noises keep me awake. The moment I took out my earplugs I yelled for them to give me a minute. I assume they couldn’t hear me over pounding on the door because they didn’t respond and yelled “MANAGEMENT” and continued pounding and trying to push the door open despite it being obviously locked from the top. He finally heard me saying to give me a minute and responded but not even 30 seconds later the door was attempting to be opened again. Finally I hear a woman pipe up who I assume is front desk ask if I could just come to the front desk in a little while as my payment was due yesterday. I wasn’t even aware I was supposed to be making payments. When I checked in 10 days ago no one told me that I would be making payments and when those payments would be due. When I got new hotel keys at 4:30 am after mine stopped working, a past due payment wasn’t mentioned. I was just given new keys after telling them my room number and name. The first I had heard of having to make payments was when the manager tried to gain entry into my room. This left an awful taste in my mouth and an awful feeling deep inside of me. I now don’t even want to go back to the hotel. It doesn’t help that there’s a door that has been visibly kicked in and secured with a padlock a few doors down from mine. Did management do that? I wouldn’t be surprised with how he kept trying to force my door open. I won’t be able to fall asleep in this hotel without having anxiety due to this awful experience. No apology was given and no explanation was given. No one called beforehand to tell me my payment was late. I hate to think of what would have happened if I wasn’t there. Would they have just entered my room and removed my belongs because I hadn’t made a payment they never told me about?

We spent 2 nights here - a weekend. As we checked in, the gal at the front desk informed us there were jr soccer teams staying but assured me they would ensure guest comfort. She was right. There were signs posted in every hallway about enforced quiet hours 9pm-7am. Our room was next to the swimming pool and we were relieved to see that those quiet hours were indeed enforced. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the full hot breakfast (included with the room) was excellent both days. The breakfast area is quite spacious and a nice touch is the outside patio for eating in a quieter environment. As a coffee lover, I applaud the Residence Inn for serving up a quality brew. The bold coffee was excellent. I also liked that the hotel was ideally located a block from the town centre with dining/shopping options. We will return to Redmond next year and you can be sure we will stay here.

The chanel lineup online that was supposed to be accurate was not so it was difficult to find something to watch. It would be great if the on TV guide were available instead of scanning a QR code and going to a listing that is wrong. It would also let guests see what is on instead of blindly channel surfing. The remote was slow to work, you had to press the buttons very hard to get the channel or volume to change. The pillows in my room were a bit dodgy (lumpy and broken down) and they all seemed to be the same firmness. I prefer a mix of pillows (some firm and some softer). and the ice machine on my floor was broken, which was inconvenient, especially after a long day. Breakfast was tasty and well-maintained, the room clean and tidy, and the staff were welcoming.

Very nice hotel with great amenities but horrendous and rude staff. Stay clear from Chipo. If you have any issues do yourself a favor and just keep it to yourself. Management will retaliate and do everything in their power to make you feel unwelcome. Complained to management about staff entering room unauthorized, was told they enter to give us waters. We said we only want staff entering on cleaning days only and still with our do not disturb staff enters your room for no apparent reasons. Won't clean, just will randomly enter to bring you pillows or water when they feel you might need it........ Also make sure to communicate through emails as you will see unauthorized charges and you will have to fight with your evidence to get what is right.

We took the family to DC in May and stayed at the Archer Hotel based on good online reviews. The hotel definitely was a highlight for us! We got a great rate by booking through their website, the breakfast was much better than advertised, the hotel is in the middle of a great shopping area, and we got a room with two king beds (very rare find). The only thing that didn't pan out as expected is that the metro stop was just a bit too far for us, but it's only $5 to park in the garage. Overall, we just loved our stay there...a real highlight of the trip :)
