Ein wunderbares Hotel mit der perfekten Lage direkt am Strand der Copacabana. Der Rooftop bietet einen atemberaubend Ausblick aufs Meer. Der dortige Pool ist für die eine Abkühlung perfekt geeignet und lässt dir das Sonnenbad erträglich machen. Für Plätze am Strand hat das Hotel eigene Liegen mit Sonnenschirme. Das Hotel und seine Mitarbeiten leisten einen außergewöhnlichen Service. Kein Wünsch kommt zu kurz. Egal welches Problem aufkommen, man versucht mit freundlicher Art und tollen Gesten zu Punkten. Die Sauberkeit in de Hotelzimmern sowie im gesamten Hotelareal ist sehr gut. Das angebotene Essen und trinken ist köstlich und preislich für ein 5-Sterne Hotel angemessen. Ein großen Dank an den tollen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times and honestly I believe it is the best hotel on Copacabana beach. Location is excellent with plenty of restaurants and shopping in close walking distance not to mention the beautiful beach with complimentary beach service for hotel guests. The rooftop pool and lounge offer stellar views of the beach and Corcovado. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of variety and another great view of the beach to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. My room was clean and comfortable. Really enjoy having the balcony. I found the staff to be welcoming and accommodating. Nice glass of champagne offered upon arrival as well as early check in which I truly appreciated after a long flight. Kudos to both Carlos and Jose who have repeatedly made me feel welcomed during all of my visits to PortoBay and provided excellent service. Overall, another great stay in Rio and hope to return again.

Excelente el servicio y atención. Apenas a unas 3 cuadras de la playa. La habitación increíble. Muy linda y amplia. Nos encantó y aprovechamos cada espacio 😉 El desayuno 5 estrellas. La verdad que volvería sin dudar.

Conveniently located right across the famous Copacabana beach. We were warm welcomed by the staff and were given the beachfront room as we requested. Complimentary breakfast offered lots of options and delicious. No swimming pool was the only letdown, overall it was a very pleasant stay

Acredito que o hotel merece uma nota maior do que a que ele tem hoje. Muito bem localizado e seguro. Instalação antigas, porém que não comprometem o conforto (não senti cheiro de mofo, por exemplo). Quartos limpos e funcionários educados. O ponto ruim realmente é o barulho do ar condicionado e a cortina no banheiro que, apesar de não estar suja, acaba molhando fora do box. É a minha segunda vez no hotel, em um intervalo de 9 anos, e não me decepcionou. Recomendo.

On the plus side, the location was exactly what we needed, close to friends' apartment and the metro, with a collection of decent bars nearby. However, the hotel itself is probably best described as 'tired' and in need of attention, and staff seem fairly uninterested. Problems include: - Condition of room not great, and various fittings 'grubby' and in need of repair - Bathroom had a number of fittings faulty, or simply broken, including a shower head that dripped continuously - Old towels, in a threadbare state, including one 'fresh' one given that had a huge hole in the middle - An iron, hidden away on a separate floor, which was not fit for purpose - Staff with no interest in helping; language issues didn't help, but reception staff who simply put the phone down on a guest that they don't understand is unacceptable - A safe that was broken, and needed changing, which proved challenging due to the aforementioned issues with staff and their willingness to help I had been led to believe that the hotel was relatively new, but considering to condition of room and fittings, struggle to believe that is the case.

The food was great here. Breakfast had a great spread. I particularly enjoyed the fresh juice every morning. Dinner was also good, though not too many options for a vegetarian. This seems to be more indicative of Brazilian food culture than the hotel though. Staff were amazing.

First visit to Brazil so can’t make a comparison to other hotels in Brazil however this is not a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. The positives are that the location is great which is what you’re paying for and staff are superb. Rooftop bar nice to relax but seating and pool beds dirty, stained or broken. Pool isn’t exclusive to hotel guests, not an issue for us but maybe for others. Breakfast is breakfast, chefs can become overwhelmed by egg orders so quite a wait at times but other food always replenished, not a huge selection but adequate to give a little bit of variety. Negatives are the rooms, first room had a side sea view so the window overlooked a bathroom in the next building and if we stood to the side of the window with our faces pressed against it we could just see the sea and if we looked up we could just see the sky over the top of the opposite buildings.The bed was terrible, ancient mattress,air conditioning didn’t work and the room had no natural light so we requested a move but was made aware it wouldn’t have a sea view. Second room was bright, air conditioning worked but sounded like a jet engine and it was in slightly less of a state of disrepair than the first room but the bed was like sleeping on a bag of stones and if we lay too close to the edge it collapsed. Room 3! No complaints, not great but quiet aircon and reasonably comfortable bed but we now felt embarrassed about how much we had to complain just to get a reasonable nights sleep. Rooms are in need of a spruce up, everything is dated, dirty, damaged or broken, very poor quality mattress, poor lighting at night and no tea/coffee facilities in the room. We had no problems with the wifi and couldn’t comment on the TV as we never watched it. Check out is the usual 12 midday but the only shower facility is the open shower by the pool in full view of other guests, not great if you have a late flight and need to freshen up. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Rio but sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel simply because of the state of the rooms and general cleanliness of the whole place, shame really as the staff work hard to keep customers happy but you definitely don’t get what you are paying for.

Empiezo por lo bueno, su personal es impecable no hay dudas que es buena gente. Principalmente Julio. La recepción esta bien pero falta actualización en sus muebles, se quedaron en la década del 80. Habitación: el wifi solo funcionaba cuando nos acercábamos a la puerta o bien tenias que bajar a la recepción. Sabanas y colchas viejas, muy viejas y manchadas. Limpias pero manchadas y rotas. Toallas: muy usadas, con algunas manchas. Seria hora que hagan una renovación total. Es lo básico que se le pide a un hotel así sea de 3 estrellas. Limpieza: muy liviana, por arriba. Una pena Desayuno: abundante, falto más variedad de frutas, con todo lo que tiene Brasil era escaso. El personal excelente. Mobiliario: viejo, con poco mantenimiento. Hora del recambio. Dato simpático: en la cabecera de la cama estaban las perillas de la luz, o sea, cuando te querías recostar con la almohada prendías la luz sin querer. Eso es un detalle tonto pero se nota que no hay un buen trabajo en la actualización de las habitaciones. Después de analizar todos los detalles el precio me pareció caro. Una verguenza.
