Hotel Ponte di Rome

It was bearable… The first thing I did was grab the door handle and I came off in my hand, an omen for the hotel. The shower was absolutely minuscule and as the hose was fixed to the centre of a corner shower, you had even less room than that. Every time you touched it, something new fell off too. The room felt dirty, long black hair scattered about and was overall just a bit grimy. Comfy bed but could have used with a couple of extra pillows. View looked out onto the lift shaft and water tank, saying this, the location was very central for our trip to Rome so that was definitely a plus. To get to the apartment, you have to go through a very long building and up either lots of steps, or a very shaky lift. There are some lovely bars/ shops very close by too, we would always go the the same bar for pre drinks about 3 mins away. The main thing that annoyed us however was the morning of departure, the hotel advertised that checkout was 10am. We had the cleaners repeatedly trying to open our door at 9:30am despite telling them “10mins!” and proceeded to congregate outside our door. This made for a stressful/ rushed departure. All in all, for what I paid it was ok. Not the most horrific place I’ve ever stayed but definitely not good. It was for 2 nights and we barely spent any time in there, maybe on purpose….

Первое впечатление было - жуть, очень маленькая комната, кровать/подушки не самые удобные, места катастрофически мало ,чемодан разместить негде, поднос с завтраком тоже некуда особо поставить, сам завтрак чисто итальянский (много хлеба, круассанов, джемов, йогурты и кофе), а хочется ведь яичницу и сосиску. Душ в ванной просто для гномов, не знаю, как там мылся мой муж, но я, маленькая девушка, еле там помещалась. Также по утрам постоянный шум, т.к. ресепшн расположен прямо возле комнаты, все слышно. Но!!! там такие потрясающие люди работают, очень добрые и приятные! и еще супер расположение рядом с площадью Навона. Поэтому я просто не могу написать плохой отзыв, ведь при бронировании я знала, что это не роскошный отель, а слабая трешка. В общем, хочу сказать спасибо девушке на ресепшн (по-моему, она там главная), она просто фантастическая!

The staff was very nice and helpful. They had helped me to guide around the city, bus, airport transfer and getting Vegetarian food. They were polite and cheerful.

Was made to feel unwelcome I booked a twin bed room for my friend and I. Then was informed there were only doubles left. I said well I could book another right now if I go on you website , it’s on your system that there are twins left? He said that’s all there is available I’d spent hours picking the right area and hotel. After a few days I was informed there was a twin available .. which was good This was our first trip to Rome and thinking one of us would have to sleep in the floor cause some stress. When we arrived the owner came down and said “ you caused so much trouble ‘ that I was a problem !!!! Not a welcome I’d like when paying to stay at your hotel. Like it was my fault !!!! Rome was nice but lower than ground level felt oppressive didn’t feel safe .. Rome is amazing but wouldn’t stay here again Be careful when you book that the room you are booking is actually available !!

If you want to be in the heart of it all this is a great spot , walking distance to everything. Check in on the main road via Zardenelli at the sister property, the hotel sign is tiny and at first I thought the taxi had taken me to the wrong place. I had pre paid before and only had to pay the few euros city/local tax when I was there. So its very authentic and you get an actual key for the front door and the room door so keep it safe. The room was lovely and how nice to be upgraded so i had a large bathroom and sofa in the room overlooking via dei coronari. The lift has a code to be able to use it and the numbers are so tiny so be careful not to incorrectly input the wrong number, the wifi was good for both calls and browsing. When i got into the room , the lamp didn't work , so when we called the only number i had from the booking confirmation i printed a guy answered on his mobile ! I thought there would be a number to call reception at the sister hotel , but no he then called them and they came over to look at the lamp. There was a fridge and extra pillows, blankets but NO glasses!! not even a glass in the bathroom ... so nothing to drink out of when I did buy drinks for the fridge (disappointing) and I couldn't call the guy back on his mobile for a glass, they should be in the room as standard. As others have said there are NO channels on the TV that are in English , even CNN or BBC world news out of the 200 channels would be great for international visitors. The hotel were great to keep our bags whilst we did the last bit of sightseeing. I was there for 3 nights and that was more than fine. I didn't use the breakfast at the sister hotel as I met friends so cannot comment on what it was like. For the price, location and ease of check in I would stay here again. I
