Carlton Park Hotel

Ideal location to an event we were attending at the Don Valley bowl. Both guys on reception very helpful. Parking onsite which was great. Allowed us to check in early as we needed to attend an event. Room was clean and smelt clean also. Decorating and furniture was dated, but this didn’t affect our stay. There was a constant noise, possibly in the pipes… but it was something we got used to. I would stay again as it was reasonably priced, considering hotels closer to our event was 5 times the price. Thank you 🙂

Very standard. Not far from meadow Hall. Alot of facilities not open and door boarded up on the outside. Was just there for the boxing so did not spend long in hotel. Is good if you need somewhere cheap to crash

All the reviews of 1/5 or something, I get it, the hotel is quite tired and in need of renovation and modernisation. But, if you just want a cheap place to get your head down for the night, it's definitely not the worst place i've ever stayed. we were in Room 220, it was clean, smelt a little musty but not unbearable, the bed was comfy enough, bathroom was clean and shower was fine. There was a wedding party going on when we arrived and someone knocked on the door and ran away at around 2am, but I've been in far higher class establishments and still had the same thing. Overall, i probably wouldn't chose to stay here again, it was a last minute booking as the Ibis had no record of my booking there, but it was fine. warm, tidy, staff were friendly enough.

Wow. Where to begin. On booking in was told that only 'council guests' could book a breakfast, and if I wanted one I'd to walk to another hotel. The room had 1 functioning power socket. The other side of the socket place was loose and wouldn't take a plug. The pillows were as flat as a fart,pathetic. The regulator on the shower bar wasn't functional making the shower too hot to stand under. The room was uncomfortably warm, and there appeared to be no way of regulating the room temperature. The was a constant 'drilling' noise coming from somewhere which made sleep a virtually impossibility. I did complain about that but with no response. I am a very regular visitor to Rotherham, and have stayed in .our of the hotels in the town, this , without question is the worst.
