Boutique B&B Droomkerke

You will feel at home - except it's probably nicer than your home! This is a beautiful, welcoming B&B in the quiet Flemish countryside. I came here just for one night to be close to the nearby village of Doomkerke, which is where my ancestors emigrated from. Each room is unique and themed around Doomkerke's history. I stayed in the Eedwaarde Doom room, after the priest who got the church built (and which the town is named after). The room was spotlessly clean and luxurious, with playful references to Father Doom. There is a lovely bar & breakfast room downstairs; breakfast was prepared fresh, using many ingredients from the garden, and bountiful. Although the weather was not the greatest, I still enjoyed a circular walk of around 8km to see Doomkerke and the surrounding countryside. I will definitely come back with my husband, and plan to borrow bikes from the B&B to do some cycling on the local trails in the woods. Guy and Dominique are lovely hosts who take excellent care of their guests.

Les chambres sont bien tenues, propres et agréables. Les hôtes très accueillants, très professionnels, présents et discret. Droomkerke dispose d’un environnement très agréable et calme ainsi qu’une gamme très variée de nourriture et de produits frais et faits maison. Mes enfants et moi même avons beaucoup apprécié votre accueil et votre maison avec tout ce que vous proposez. Bravo et à bientôt

La struttura non effettua alcun servizio di pulizia giornaliera; abbiamo soggiornato 4 notti e non sono stati effettuati cambi di asciugamani, reintegro sapone oltre alla bottiglietta del primo giorno, e soprattutto non è mai stata effettuata la pulizia almeno del bagno senza aver neppure una scopa o uno straccio per farla in autonomia. Non siamo riusciti a dormire tutta la notte perche nelle camere è molto caldo e non c'è aria condizionata; se si aprono le finestre per rinfrescare la stanza non ci sono neppure le zanzariere e la stanza si riempe di zanzare considerato che davanti alla finestra c'è un letamaio maleodorante che in alcuni momenti della giornata diventa insopportabile. Non si poteva almeno dare un prodotto agli ospiti per evitare che venissero assaliti da mille insetti? Abitiamo in campagna ed amiamo la natura ma questa è una cosa diversa A colazione alcuni panini vecchi di qualche giorno che il titolare prima di portarli bagna con acqua e riscalda maldestamente nel microonde....disgustosi Tutto molto scarso anche nella quantita; una mattina c'era una sola brioche data al tavolo accanto..... Non si capisce infine il perché un'attività che vuole promuovere la campagna belga, proponga come vino aziendale con tanto di etichetta personalizzata del b&b un vino italiano, siciliano per la precisione. Promuovere il territorio e l'ospitalità è un'altra cosa....
