We booked this hotel on-line, listed as a member of the Choice Hotel line (and therefore with member benefits), but with the name Saint John Inn. When we arrived, we could see the original sign was covered with a fabric one and the “new” name of Saint John Inn on the sign. It will be a Rodeway Inn when they get all the transactions done. It is pet-friendly. The room was adequate. It was on the ground floor with a patio door to the outside. We never could figure out how to take off the lock to open the patio door however. It did have a microwave and fridge with a freezer compartment. While there was coffee in the lobby, there was no breakfast (COVID?). One of the doors by the office (but in the hallway) to the outside had a sign saying EXIT only, yet, it didn’t latch so people could come and go just by pulling it open and bypassing the desk. The staff was friendly and helpful in their recommendations for food. The “high-speed internet” wasn’t high-speed at all. And there were no security/password measures to use the internet. When we arranged for the room, on-line, we went to the website, which said that people who stayed during the week could get a $5 Tim Hortons or Starbucks gift card or other options, just for staying. We registered for one of them. But when we asked at the front desk, they didn’t know anything about it. There was even a poster stating about it in the hall way, but still no recognition of the offer. All they could do was give me a phone number to call, which gave me another number to call for customer relations. They didn’t know about it, but ended up transferring me to a fellow who tried to sell me a 4 day/3 night vacation package to stay at one of their hotels and listen to the time-share sales pitch. Probably won’t stay there again.
