This is a typical French seaside "pension", with small rooms, a bar/bistro/crêperie and fantastic views over the beach and sea. The décor needs brightening up, but it is clean throughout, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is quite modern and the shower was excellent. We took a room on the sea side with a small balcony, which was absolutely worth paying for....in fact it is a must. We appreciated drinking traditional Breton cider in the bar on the ground floor, and at the great rooftop bar. This was an unexpected bonus. We also really enjoyed the buffet style breakfast - traditional French with good bread, croissants, etc, as well as cold meats and eggs cooked quickly to order. Of course fresh crêpes were also available. For us, the hotel completely conformed to our expectations for this type of short stay. We visited in Nov, but it was a holiday weekend, and St Malo was very busy. We did not take the option of the private hotel parking, and it was difficult to find a space close by.
