Masseria Mazzetta Salento

After stopping at the Castelle Mancini for a wine tasting someone handed us the brochure to the falconry....2 miles down the road...my wife and I have been to many countries and we found this experience maybe the best ever..... The owners and crew are wonderful and we were allowed to visit all of the exotic birds we really could not believe how the birds were trained and how the horses were trained and by the way the owners wife dances flamingo with the Spanish horses. The website is 100% accurate.....

Prior to arrival I had tried 4 times to obtain restaurant recommendations as this Masseria is in the middle of nowhere. Despite different appraaches we never heard from them. We tried this Masseria with another couple as an alternative to staying in Puglian towns. We found the welcome completely lacking and little was done to make our stay comfortable. At all times we felt guests were secondary to the main activity of the Masseria which is spanish horses and falconry. When the horse show starts the reception is locked up. I certainly wouldn't plan to arive early evening as there is no-one available for check in. There is no restaurant and one can't walk any where. During the show the power to our rooms went out several times. When the show was finished the owners seemed more interested in entertaining their family than looking after guests. They took over an outside area which I had assumed was for guests, so felt we couldn't use this space. The actual rooms were quite pleasant. Breakfast was just OK the standard response when you might ask for something was 'that's all that is available'. I compare this to the experience at other Masseria’s and this one is quite underwhelming, I expected way more from a hosted Masseria. Simply put stay elsewhere

Fantastic place for distinguished travellers, a piece of genuine Italy, as imagined in books and movies, perfect!

It was an impressive, beautiful and old house in great condition, very comfortable, great service, we enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

FORTEMENTE SCONSIGLIATA!!!!!! Avevo prenotato attraverso booking, per la notte del 30 giugno 2023 una stanza quadrupla (l'ultima disponibile), al costo di € 178,20. Rivendo tutte le conferme della prenotazione fatta. Al mio arrivo, dopo aver pagato, mi hanno consegnato le chiavi di una stanza che invece era una semplice matrimoniale. Preciso che la struttura non mi ha comunicato nulla, nè prima del mio arrivo, nè al momento del check in; mi ha fatto pagare il prezzo intero della quadrupla e, in risposta alla mia contestazione, mi ha comunicato che la stanza quadrupla che avevo prenotato era occupata!!!! Ho chiesto come avessero potuto dare ad altri ospiti la stanza che era riservata a mio nome e con una maggiore disponibilità di posti letto poichè sarebbe potuto venire mio figlio con noi. Sono andata via, rifiutandomi di pernottare, perchè certi comportamenti sono inaccettabili. Per la prima volta nella mia vita ho trovato un GESTORE ASSOLUTAMENTE INAFFIDABILE E NON PROFESSIONALE. Peraltro la struttura non vale nella maniera più assoluta il prezzo richiesto. NON CI ANDATE!!!!!

My wife and I have been here for 5 nights, as a base for touring the nearby cities and beaches. The place is a small gem, peacefully set in an old building at the end of a long, straight country lane sided by tall trees. The welcoming is great: Sonia, Orfeo (the owners) and their daughters really make you feel at home. The room are spacious and cosy, simply furnished with a very comfortable beed and with elegant vintage materials. The tall ceilings make the room feel airy and cool. Breakfast is a super treat, with hot moka coffee, local bakery products, home made cakes and a variety of fruit and local cheeses. The location is perfect for visiting the beaches of Torre Lapillo, Porto Cesareo and Punta Prosciutto, all between 15 and 20km from the masseria. It is also perfect for visiting Lecce, Nardò, Galatina and other nice towns and villages of Salento. We really enjoyed the peace and cool at the Masseria after the hot days spent sightseeing or at the beach. It felt like home. We definitely recommend Masseria Mazzetta!

Siamo stati alla masseria per gli spettacoli equestri e di falconeria. La struttura è molto bella e ben tenuta, gli spettacoli belli ed interessanti. Molto particolare la selezione di rapaci e stupendo il volo delle cicogne. I cavalli fantastici, animali bellissimi, ben tenuti, e spettacolo finale con ballerina eccezionale

Esperienza a sorpresa meravigliosa in un posto bellissimo e incantevole, abbiamo conosciuto il mondo dei pappagalli, volatili splendidi nei colori, per la loro intelligenza, abbiamo appreso conoscenze che mai avremmo immaginato su di loro, e aver visto anche le acquile, civette, gufi e diversi esemplari , da ritornarci per altre splendide giornate..Grazie ancora Vincenzo e Chiara

Ho soggiornato è fatto soggiornare i miei ospiti in questa masseria per un weekend. Stanze curate è molto pulire, interni veramente belli con tutti i comfort. Molto simpatici e disponibili i proprietari e tutte le persone che lavorano all’interno della struttura. Molto consigliato
