This was the best hotel on our trip. We felt very welcome and enjoyed all of the interactions with the employees. There are great restaurants in the area, the front desk made some great recommendations. This hotel’s very clean. The breakfast was great. They have pumpkin waffles that were fabulous. I had read a review that said they didn’t feel safe, however that was not our experience- we felt safe in the area. There are homeless folks in the area but we never felt unsafe. Great place!

The Residence Inn Salt Lake City has consistently provided high quality service and attention to detail during my stays. I was impressed with the cleanliness, comfort, and immaculate condition of the rooms. There is no place I would rather stay than Marriott. Ms. Clarisa at the Residence Inn Salt Lake City downtown is an exceptional manager. I received excellent customer service from her. My admiration for her professionalism, expertise, and intelligence is unwavering. She went above and beyond to ensure that my stay at Marriott was pleasant and well-cared for. Having a supportive and cohesive manager like Ms. Clarisa makes a positive impact on the customer experience. Front desk staff Mr. Trevor and Mr. Cyrus provided excellent customer service. They treat customers with kindness, generosity, and respect. My sincere appreciation and gratitude are due to the entire team for treating me so wonderfully. It was an excellent stay in every way. I highly recommend this place.
Front office staff were helpful. There was a free drinks and snacks section downstairs which was nice. Showers were very strong and took no time to heat up. The one downside is the big factory next door that starts chugging loudly at 4:30 am everyday. It was really loud.

I had a stay Feb 5-6, 2023 for a ground floor room w/ a single bed because I'm 100% handicapped from my military service during Vietnam. I called Microtel twice on 2/1 & again on 2/4, to confirm that I had a 1 bed ground floor rm. Both times the clerks assured me that it was in their system. I showed up Feb 5th around 3:30pm, & was told by the rude female desk clerk that there's no ground floor rooms available. I told her that I had called twice on different days & was assured that the notes were in the system. She finally checked again & put me in a ground floor room, that wasn't very clean, but I accepted it, since there wasn't any other ground floor rooms available according to her. That evening the room above me kept dropping things, & it sounded like being in a bowling alley w/ the loud noises. Later, a family came in the room next door to me, & the kids started yelling, screaming & pounding on the walls. I called the front desk a couple of times, but no answer. It finally stopped around 10pm. The next morning, I went to take a shower. There wasn't any hot water, & the soap & shampoo dispensers were empty. I called the front desk & again, no answer. Afterward, a Mexican guy apparently had a key to my room & came in, w/o knocking or anything. He looked surprised when he saw me, & started speaking Spanish. I asked who he was & why he came in my room, but just talked Spanish. When I went to the front desk & confronted the clerk (the same rude clerk that checked me in the day before) about this guy having a key to enter my room, she said it MAY be the maintenance guy. I then asked, ”Why didn't he say he's maintenance or staff or have hotel ID on him?” She claimed she didn't know. I filed a complaint w/ the mgr thru the clerk, & he finally sent me a email 3 days later saying he couldn't do anything about the noise from other guests. Nothing about the other issues, like no hot water, soap or shampoo, or why the guy had a key to enter my rm. No offer of a refund or some sort of compensation. Do not stay at this Microtel !!

VVivianPerfect location, just off the highway for our trip from Jackson Hole to SLC. Lots of eatery’s nearby, including a nice boba tea shop. Room is clean and spacious, trundle bed and sofa could easily fit another 2 kids. Breakfast has nice waffle that my teens enjoyed, we love the hazelnut coffee. Coffee available till 11am so we could fill some for our remainder road trip when checking out.
PPengguna TetamuThis is the first time I stayed here and I'll be back. It's right next to the Salt Palace convention center which makes it incredibly convenient. It's reasonably priced and each room has some great kitchen features in it. Also, breakfast is included. There are several great restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff here is fantastic as well. I was hoping to get a muffin before they cleared breakfast, but I just missed it and the staff brought the bread tray back out for me to select from. Genni & William are great and very helpful. Genni waited with me until my Uber came to make sure I got in and got on my way to the airport okay. This is above and beyond what I've seen at other hotels in the area. Having kitchen utensils/items in the room was great for when I ended up staying in the room more than expected due to a tooth issue. I could easily heat up food and having a dishwasher meant I didn't have to do a lot with the dishes. If I was staying in Salt Lake longer, I'd definitely choose here because I could use the kitchen area to make sure I ate decent food. The only thing I wish is that they had a larger selection in their Marketplace area. Overall a great place to stay.
ZZingersNewly refurbished hotel with basic amenities and facilities..We requested for bedroom slippers and were told they don't provide. At the room rate that the hotel is charging, it really warrants for better services and room facilities.
PPengguna TetamuWe’re only a couple days into our stay and I’m frustrated and disappointed. The frustration started with the check in process. We arrived early and knew a room may not be available. We were told we would receive a text message as soon as one was cleaned and ready. We sat in the lobby adjacent, just 20 feet away from the desk waiting. We observe several people leaving the counter with room keys in hand. Some friends of ours checked in while we were sitting in the lobby and were given a room with a $25 early check in fee. That was never offered to us. I approached the desk to inquire why we hadn’t received a text message if a room became available and why people arriving after us were given rooms. No good answer BUT good news they have a room. I inquire about the microwave I had reserved weeks prior. Oh those are all spoken for sorry. Get to our room, it only has 1 bed I called down to the desk and was asked if I had touched anything in the room upon entering. I was asked to return to the front desk to get my new room keys. Upon entering our room we notice it’s rather warm. Fiddle with the thermostat unit which is set to 65 and there’s no difference in the fan speed between high medium and low. Next day call the front desk to request AC service and fresh towels. Nothing. Called again. Nothing. Next morning, called again and received towels. Supposedly the air was fixed while we were out for the day, but nothing has changed in regards to comfort. The pillows are terrible and the beds are on the soft side. The hotel is ready for some upgrades as the carpet is worn and dirty throughout the hallways. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful, oh and one housekeeper was able to find me a microwave that the front desk staff insisted was not available. Hmmm
AAmerican solo travelerStayed 2 nights. Newly remodeled. Was surprised by how nice the rooms were. Big TV. Had a south east facing room and had a view of snow capped mountains. Clean bright white linens. Towels weren’t as new, but were clean. Everything looks brand new inside. Only thing that looks dated a few years are the doors and bathtub. Spacious room. Great food and drink and the restaurant and bar. Parking was steep ($25/n). Overall great stay and would definitely book here again.
JJaeBabeThe only problems I had were the comforter and the bathroom sink. The comforter had rolled up little stuffing in each square. It was strange and they probably should replace the comforters. The bathroom sink took over an hour to drain. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay. I would rate the front desk staff a 5 out of 5. Very friendly.
PPengguna TetamuI recently spent a week (second week of April) staying at this property and knew when booking it that I had to keep my expectations in check. The location was great for access to the car rental agency, airport and downtown locations I planned my week around. There is a Denny's, McDonalds and a killer good Mexican restaurant all with in a block or two. The property is worn and dated but all common areas are clean and without any musty or overpowering smells. The rooms are surprisingly large and I was quite comfortable with my bedding and pillows. The unfortunate thing was that during my visit they were unable to provide any air conditioning as their system was still set for winter. After returning to my room on the second day and finding it at 85 degrees I had to discuss options with the desk. They were very understanding and were able to move me to a cooler room that I was able to deal with after buying a fan from the local Walmart. I did note that the toilet paper holder was askew and partially pulled from the wall. The metal towel holder had at one time been ripped from the wall and reinstalled without any concern for the resulting sharp edges from the resulting damage. My smoke detector was not mounted to the ceiling but instead resided on the shelf inside the closet. For me these were all little things, excepting for the air conditioning, and inconveniences I could handle. If my wife had been with me the place would not have worked and I felt for those guys that were checking in with their female partners. This is basically one of those places where traveling construction crews utilize (at least during my stay it was). The staff is friendly, accommodating and left working with what they have do deal with the best they can. I almost got what I expected when booking this chain, however I have had excellent past stays at other Comfort Inn locations. Salt Lake City is very easy to maneuver and knowing that now, I would not hesitate to look for a better stay a little further from the central city. Would I stay again? Only by myself and on a tight budget. It was not terrible, unsafe, or dirty and did what I needed - just don't expect too much with the price.
