Mekong Bird Resort & Hotel

I did the Boat tour with this Mekong bird resort in January 2024 they explain me good about the itinerary so I decided to do it, but when I did the tour not good as mention in the itinerary. And the price is expensive then the other tour in stung treng province.

That's the best and most beautiful place to relax. The staff are very helpful and welcome us. The food was good and price was cheap. The boat and kayak tour was amazing. The Island is very beautiful and has a great environment. The local people always smile faces. The resort well organized our trip and thanks to Aun he is the best organizer of our trip and he guided us a whole trip. Thanks again for your help and definitely I will be back again for my third visit. Thanks 😊

Best Mekong River in Stung Treng, the environment was great, many kind of different birds, beautiful Islands, good view for sunset, a lot of fishing people, good foods good people and very well organized tour by Mekong Bird Resort. Good experience with local people and loved the natural place love Mekong Bird Resort. Highly recommend if you love adventure and love natural environments.

It is nice place to visit Mekong river with nice nature, especially natural try. But the manager in this resort, provide us the deferent food that we booked and expensive compare to other hotel. We are not recommended this resort to you. And staff is not welcoming.

I cannot recommend the mekong birdresort to anyone. Except for the location and the already renovated bungalows. Nervertheless the resort and its staff brings a lot of problems. We booked the resort through Air BnB. When we arrived we were informed that our already paid reservation was not taken. The reason was that the host no longer had access to his Air Bnb account, which seems very strange. He wanted us to pay in cash but never had change himself which was also suspicious. So demanded to cancel the booking but since this happened on the day of check-in, we would have only gotten a fraction of our money back. Fortunately, the Air Bnb staff was so helpful and was able to refund our money after a short wile. To make up for the very complicated check-in, the manager offered us a free boat tour on the Mekong, which ended up costing over $55, which seems also overpriced. The manager also told us that three nights paid in cash cost 100$, which suddenly became 120$ on the last day. On the internet, it is advertided that staff can speak English but unfortunately this was not the case. So any verbal communication can only take place with the manager, who is rarely to be found in the resort. The rest of the service provided by the staff seems unkind and guests do not feel welcome. For example you have to expect long waits before ordering food, as the staff are busy with their cell phones and the well-being of the guests does not seem to interest them. The morning meal is served without asking what you would like and has become worse and less from day to day. The food was average and overall too expensive for what you get. Transportation in the very secluded resort is non-existent and as mentioned in the beginning, prices for excursions of all kinds are nowhere to be found and arbitrarily made by the manager himself. All in all this was one of the worst experiences we have had in Cambodia and we would not wish this to anyone!

We booked services not welcoming for the dinner and rooms party not meet the requirements. All bungalow need touch up seriously. Price/ quality is expensive compare to the other resort or hotels in the surrounding The resort is doing work t is just not respectful to client. I definitely not recommended for who looks for this resort.

My wife and a good friend of ours just spent three nights in a most fabulous resort in a relatively remote part of northern Cambodia. Our stay there was a highlight of a three week stay that began in Siem Reap, went south to Phnom Penh and Kampot and then northeast to Stung Treng before returning to Siem Reap. The area was remote and quiet; far from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. But despite the remoteness the rooms were quite comfortable and the food remarkable and ingenious. Also, we participated in three activities that were truly magical: a boat tour of the Mekong, a picnic dinner on a deserted island and a traditional Khmer dinner complete with traditional Khmer music. What made all of these activities so magical was the attention to detail and the special touches our host and owner put into each to ensure our enjoyment. In fact, I would say that what really made our stay there so magical was the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of our host and his entire staff. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a unique and magical experience.

I come as a guest and went as a frend. The Kajak tour is realy amazing. The owner of the Lodge guided the tour and we went on small side arms of the mekong. Fantastic scenery and the sunset on the Mekong was amazing. After that we had very good food at the Restaurant of the lodge and enjoyed some cold Beers ... just perfect

L'endroit est magnifique, limite exceptionnel. Les villas sont très belles, avec de belles terrasses avec vue sur le Mekong. Air conditionné, wi-fi (qui fonctionne), frigo acceptable. Un petit effort sur la salle de bain serait bienvenu. Le service... ben y en a pas. On vous accueille comme on peut, on ne vous explique rien, ni les activités, ni le restaurant, ni le bar. Les chambres ne sont pas faites durant le séjour. Une fois en contact avec le proprio, le programme est dingue. Descente du Mekong en gilet de sauvetage, petit-déjeuner sur la rivière, Kayak, Sunset cruise, visite des chutes d'eau à la frontière laotienne, c'est complètement fou ! Bref, c'est très spécial, mais ont a adoré !
