Hotel Gran Paradiso

Hotel Gran Paradiso was the perfect stay for our cycling holiday. Service was great, nothing but smiles at the location. The garden suite was big and covered our needs. Bed was a bit hard for us personally, but still very good nights as it was really quite. The food was tasteful, including the nice breakfast. Extras like the wellness was very nice.

I love this hotel. I’ve been there three times now, always in late June/early July, and I’m sure I will come back. The place is excellent value for money. It’s a family-run business, and Roland and Katherina are fantastic, warm-hearted, hands-on hosts. In fact, the entire staff at the reception and in the restaurant is super-friendly. I’ve always stayed in one of their Superior rooms. The ones with a view out the back towards the towering Conturines mountain range are my favourites. It’s perfectly quiet there. If you book half board, you’re in for a treat. The restaurant is excellent and dinner is always a 5-course affair. If you have any dietary needs or preferences, the chef(s) in the kitchen will be more than happy to accommodate you. A different pasta that’s not on the menu? No problem. A different dessert? Of course, just ask. Last but not least, the wellness centre is superb and beautifully designed. There’s the sauna, outdoor pool and quiet area, plus they have several rooms for treatments. During my last stay, I had two excellent Thai Yoga massages with Lucio Masiero, one of the two in-house therapists, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Lucio and this treatment. As I said, I’m sure I will come back to Hotel Gran Paradiso.

I can only recommend this hotel. From day 1 Roland and his team welcomed us with oen arms and explained all very well. They helped us to choose very nice hiking trips, places to visit and so one. Mriko and team on reception as well very friendly and willing to help. Restaurant very good and divers food, every day for diner we could choose between fish, meat or vegetarian. Rooms very clean, welness top. Only 1 small thing but there will be a reason we missed a coffee machine in the room to enjoy a coffee in the morning with the fantastic view to the garden. We have been staying at Gran Paradiso for many years, both with my family and with friends. Also this year, the hotel and its personal, as well as its service and the food were excellent. We will certainly be coming back to Gran Paradiso.

We are two couples that just spent one week at the Gran Paraidiso. We were not disappointed. The hotel sits in a beautiful location with mountain views of the Dolomites. From the very first moment we entered the hotel, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our room was immaculate, and had lots of space. The hotel's facilities are also very clean. The Gran Paradiso has a staff that is attentative. The food is prepared with excellence. The outdoor pool/jacuzzi has mountain views. We also had excellent massages. The price for a week in September is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel to all who want to enjoy the Dolomites in the Alta Badia region.

We had the most incredible stay at Gran Paradiso for our honeymoon. We stayed in one of the garden suites which was definitely worth it, the room was incredible (almost as big as our flat at home!) - super comfortable with lots of nice touches. The hotel is in a great location in san Cassiano, it’s a short walk (15 mins or so) into the village where you can get the lifts up the mountain for hiking, and is on a lot of the main cycling routes also. The spa was amazing after a day of exploring, with incredible views from the infinity pool. All the staff were lovely (particularly Melanie who was our waitress all week), had great English and were happy to sort out various random requests. Only downside is the bar area, which is a bit dated in comparison to the rest of the hotel, but having drinks on the terrace was lovely. We went half board and the food was good, but not amazing - especially as we don’t eat meat, but the staff were happy to adjust dishes for us and we definitely didn’t go hungry. Overall a wonderful stay and we were so sad to leave!
