We stayed at this hotel for two night. It is conveniently located to the airport, even if you don’t have a car (about 10 minutes to walk). The hotel itself was pleasant to stay but nothing special. The only truly disappointing thing was the breakfast. We went towards the end of breakfast time and there was pretty much nothing left. They ran out of most stuff so they also couldn’t refill it.

This hostel is set up really well and it pains me to leave such a negative review as you can see so many elements are really good such as the community rooms/laundry area/check in. The issue we had was our room 306 was above the Main Street for drinking plus the bike cabs used under our bedroom window as a cab rank blasting music out all night until 4am on their trikes. The window does not close properly and when we returned to the room after dinner and drinks I obtained 4 towels from reception to wedge into the gaps to try and muffle the music and traffic sound. I noticed the back tube for the air con was broke and I tried repairing this with some plasters we had as it was pumping hot air into the room as it was a nasty noisy old style unit that went via the window thus making even more gaps in the window. Even with ear plugs in, wedging the window closed with towels and the very noisy aircon on for white noise you can hear the music/road traffic. I messaged reception at around 2/3am to see if we could be moved to another room but we would have to vacate the current room immediately at 2/3am before they would give me a key for an inside room with no road noise. My partner was sort of sleeping and I asked could we not move in the morning fully? to be told in a rude, nasty manner NO! The lack of consideration, empathy and emotional intelligence in this situation was unbelievable especially considering the time.. I then cancelled the other 3 nights stay immediately due to the unprofessional and nasty attitude of the person. Whilst packing in the morning I found a nasty old mattress under the bed covered in dust. The room was quite dusty and was in need of a deep clean. Such a shame as if the room had windows that closed or/& secondary glazing it would have been amazing.

Hotel located in Little Italy. Very close to the restaurants and a walkable distance to bus and trolley stations. Room is small but clean. Has a hair dryer and iron. Did not seem to have room service included but it didn't bother me as I was only there for a short stay. In general a great place for a solo traveller to stay for a short time.

Located within the heart of Little Italy, this hotel is surrounded by plenty of food options, and is walkable to many attractions. I was in town to see Sting & Billy Joel at Petco Park. If you like walking as much as I do, the park is an easy 30 minute walk. I traveled by Amtrak from Burbank and used ride shares to see Balboa Park. Little Italy is a very lovely area and a good home base for exploring San Diego.

Bathrooms need to be updated. Shower was old and looked dirty and there were areas that seemed to have mold. The pools were good for kids. They offered s’mores only for one hour which was not convenient for our schedule so we didn’t experience. Curtains weren’t blackout which is difficult when you have small children and lots of light comes in.

Clear and good location

Our daughter got married last weekend on the beach in La Jolla just a mile south of the Pantai Inn so the location could not have been better. We stayed in the two bedroom suite that overlooks the ocean, what a view! The suite was upgraded with a beautiful shower, kitchen, new windows and the most comfortable beds. The back door to the suite took us down to the center courtyard with a lounge area, recliners and a much needed bar. ”Vaca” makes an excellent margarita (or 16)! The same courtyard leads you to a wonderful breakfast bar with a great variety of breakfast options. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Edwin, the hotel manager was even kind enough to shuttle us to the wedding venue due to unavailable beach parking. Understand this hotel is nearly 100 years old, so do not expect Las Vegas appointed perfection. It's 5-star for the area and any hotel of this era. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations!
