Rey Lagarto Hostel

There is minimarket nearby and shared kitchen is available for guests. Hostel provide support for multiple tours around San Pedro de Atacama. I booked for Moon Valley and Astronomico Tours and they were amazing!

Very clean and nice hostel. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Great facilities for this price. Excellent place. Clean room, friendly staffs and helpful. Never once they didnt SMILE to their customers. It's been many times for me to check in with this hotel

The check in was smooth. I as a non-Chilean didn't need to pay the extra taxes. It's 1.5km from centro, but that's not a big problem. I walked back and forth to centro, and I felt safe even at late night. The room was ok. The bunk bed was sturdy. There were 3 living areas: indoor, roofed outdoor, and rooftop. Rey Lagarto has the typical international hostel vibes and services. The major room for improvement was the wifi, which was slow and unstable. I'm not sure if this was about the geography of Atacama.

The bed broke in the middle of the night and we had to fix it. The staff was nowhere to be seen and they put loud music till 10pm. The sheets were dirty and the shower drain was a hole that filled the room with sewer stench. It was the only hostel in a month of travelling that asked for half of the price paid in advance a month ahead. We paid 46$ for one night which is not even close to a good quality/price standard. Moreover, the attached picture shows how professional the manager is. She sent this private text on my WhatsApp, making fun of me and of my review.We travel a lot and never happened to be treated like that.

This place is great for a couple of days in San Pedro de Atacama. The kitchen is super well equipped, the bathrooms are clean and with hot water, there is a lot of space to chill and hang around (the terrace can be super hot though), and the ladies at the reception are a gem. Definitely recommend staying there. It’s not the closest to the center, but definitely walkable, and there are restaurants and grocery shops around the corner.

Me encantó mi estadía, la pasé increíble. Es limpio y ordenado sin dejar de ser entretenido, los espacios comunes funcionan muy bien, creando el clima idóneo para la interacción entre viajeros. Adicionalmente, el staff (Yanet) es súper amable y nos ayudó con todas nuestras dudas, además cuando tuvimos un problema con otro hostal y nos tuvimos que marchar de aquel, el Rey Lagarto nos recibió con los brazos abiertos, brindándonos soluciones y un lugar bacán. Lo único que mejoraría sería el aire acondicionado ya que pasamos mucho calor en la noche. En conclusión es un hostal que vale totalmente la pena y tiene la mejor relación precio/calidad.

El hostal es limpio y está ordenado. Lamentablemente no tiene buena aislacion del ruido, las habitaciones reciben el ruido de todo lo que se hace en las áreas comunes como el comedor. En las noches los huéspedes no respetan el silencio y nadie les dice nada y además el timbre se echa a perder y suena toda la noche en las áreas comunes y habitaciones. No se puede dormir tranquilo. Es algo lejos del centro, unos 20 min paso normal pero con el calor es algo complejo, mejor llegar en auto si tienes niños pequeños o adultos mayores. No se ofrece desayuno.

Excelente lugar! Todo muy limpio, ambiente increíble, servicio impecable, lugar ideal para estar en un lugar como San Pedro, muy amables y simpáticos, se siente la buena energía desde el primer minuto, totalmente recomendado. De todas maneras vuelvo!

Excelente hostal, excelente atención de parte del personal, siempre ayudándonos eficiente y rapidamente. Pero sobre todo destacamos la limpieza y lo impecable, algo que para mi compañera de viaje y a mi no es muy importante. Los baños compartidos, la cocina y espacios comunes impecables. La ropa de cama igual. Nuestra estadia ahi hizo de nuestro viaje aun mejor. Muchas gracias
