Beach Star Ibiza

We stay at this hotel in mid-september the weather was just nice and we enjoy a lot along the pool with the live DJ, staff were very friendly and they helped a lot booking taxis and recommended a lot of places, They ever booked us tickets for Ibiza clubs. Our room was big and with a nice view over the pool, breakfast was great. Thanks so much for your kindness Juan :) We want to come back.

Stayed here for 4 nights, nice hotel, bar staff are very slow and so unenthusiastic. It’s little but tired but not too bad at all for a few nights. The music round the pool is so loud, I’ve actually been to clubs and bars where it’s quieter! when you want to just chill in the day time and the useless bar staff didn’t know how to turn it down! It’s the button that says volume!!! Went to the manager and he said it’s the hotel policy that it is up that loud. When we said we are trying to relax he said “oh well I guess you can’t” On our last day the stupid maid asked us when we were leaving the room at 10am. She then said check out is at 11am and then asked her what the time was and she didn’t know the time. Other than not a bad stay.

Brilliant hotel, ignore all the bad reviews! Just came back from a week there. The reception staff were friendly and always booked us taxis despite reviews saying they wouldn't. Pool and DJs are great, lovely a**osphere in the day. Drinks reasonably priced (especially delicious sangria and rose to share amongst friends). Rooms are perfect, sea view is beautiful. Well equipped, clean, spacious, great aircon, comfy beds. Only downside is one pillow per person so I put a towel under mine. If you get a pool view it is likely to be noisier by midday if you want to lie in. The bar/hotel opposite is loud until about midnight but we booked this as a party hotel so expected to have late nights/have noisy corridors. It can be noisy with people coming in/going out late and early so expect this, earplugs helped! Rooms cleaned daily if you want them to be, fresh towels. Can cook if you want to but we ate out. Johnny's bar (burgers) at top of road is lovely, there's an irish bar and other restaurants along the road too but we didn't go to those. Breakfast buffet is great and so generous, you get charcuterie/baguettes, fresh fruit and can order eggs/beans/sausages etc too, really good value. Is served until 12pm which was great when hungover, we actually missed it one day as didn't get in until 7am! Can always get sunbeds but we did go last week of Sept (think people are hungover/in bed until late)! Easy to get cabs to/from San An and to the big clubs, expect to pay about 30-40 euros each way to go over to the Old Town/clubs on other side of the island. Overall we loved this hotel and would definitely stay again!

When Senator bought the hotel they inherited a loyal customer base and have absolutely ruined it. I’ve stayed at the Beach Star 6/7 times and have always loved it but it’s just been run into the ground. Check in was a nigh**are, the systems at reception went down so we couldn’t check in at all which of course isn’t the fault of the staff but they were so so utterly unhelpful. Hours later we finally got into the room to be told none of the key cards in the hotel were working. The rooms require some maintaining, the bathroom was filthy and tiles all dirty the balcony was all flaking and chipped away, in fact the whole hotel needs some love. You can tell they’re not looking after it, the pool tiles where the steps are, are all grubby and mouldy, the whole place needs a refresh. Customer service around the pool area literally doesn’t exist, the staff don’t seem to know what’s going on. They kept charging us different amounts for the same items. I was overcharged twice during my stay and even though the pool bar is rarely busy they are so so slow, getting a drink takes about 10 minutes as they are all chatting to each other and moving at the pace of a snail. A guy took payment from me and then came back 5 minutes later to take payment again as had forgot, as an isolated incident that’s funny but it’s a reflection of the staff as a whole. The hotel now charges 5 euros a day to use the safe in the room which is ridiculous- I’ve never heard of such a thing (there never used to be a charge) and even though we had a hellish check in they tried to charge us when we checked out a bit later than 11am!! Getting taxis is always difficult in Ibiza but the receptionist with the long dark hair who was usually there in the evenings is just so rude and unhelpful that we walked along to another hotel to order a cab and got one fine. Honestly the staff act like they don’t want you there. The rooms were ‘cleaned’ daily but the beds weren’t changed in 5 days. On the first day I smashed my perfume bottle and when we checked out there was still glass on the floor even though I had made them aware. The food used to be so good here but now it’s just strange, if you order the same thing it comes up with different components every time. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and got one prawn and a few mussels with it. It feels like all the love and care has gone, which I guess is what happens when a big company purchases a previously privately owned hotel. For the money, there are now far better places to stay on the island. A real shame

Arrived at the hotel late due to flight cancellations and delays, after communicating with hotel staff we were reassured the room would be held for us which was a great comfort On arriving at the hotel at 4am we had booked a room for three people however were checked in to a room for 2 people, reception quickly changed our room however we then found that the third bed was literally a sofa (not really a room for three people) and had not been made up which resulted in a second trip to reception to request bedding After this all was ok, service of all hotel staff was great and drinks around the pool were delicious! Hotel pool area was lovely although felt the pool could be a little cleaner and in general hotel could do with a lick of paint and sprucing up

There is NO WAY this is a 4 star hotel. Not even a 3 star hotel. This is a 2 star hotel, nothing more. The primary issue with this property was the noise. We stayed in a studio apar**ent on the top floor. There was no sound proofing whatsoever between rooms. All hours of the day and night, we heard neighbors to our left, right, and below. We heard talking, laughing, sneezing, coughing, closing doors, moving furniture, music, etc. We heard people in the hallways and on the balconies. Every time somebody closed the front door in an adjacent room, it felt like our whole room shook. I was woken up at least 5-10 times each night by noise from adjacent rooms. 75% of the hotel’s rooms were facing the pool. They had a DJ playing music until 7 pm everyday. The music was fine, but it was loud. If you wanted to take a nap during the day, forget about it. We requested a sea view room. We got the sea view, but the front door to the room was facing the pool. In fact, all the studio apar**ents had front doors facing the pool. The door did little to block out the noise. We heard the music, plus all the people at the pool who were talking, laughing, or shouting above the music. The room itself was spartan. No decorations at all…just white walls and white ceilings with cheap lighting. Small. Basically felt like a college dorm room. I have no idea why this hotel has so many positive reviews. We made our decision to stay here based on the reviews. But, wow! This was a major disappoin**ent.

The hotel was lovely and clean, had all the facilities that we needed and a wonderful pool and pool area. We had some issues with breakfast, as we had this pre-booked and the staff seemed disinterested in serving us. Reception staff were rude at times and couldn’t do enough for us at other times. All-in-all we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the hotel for its location and facilities.

I write this review based on my experience of being in Ibiza 8 times already in the past 4/5 years. I have stayed at a range of hotels across San Antonio and without a shadow of a doubt this hotel is hands down the best one yet. Note that the brand is moving to a new location called Palm Star Ibiza which looks to be an even better location but will have the same staff and prices. Firstly, the staff at this hotel are the best in the business when it comes to customer service. I’ve never felt more welcomed and taken care of! From the receptionist to the bar staff and particularly the waitresses, there was not one thing I could fault with any of them. The rooms provided sufficient space for the people in our group and had everything we needed. Quick, easy access to all rooms were a bonus too to avoid any time being wasted from trooping back and forth. As for the price of our booking it was more than worth the money and definitely good value for what you’re paying for. Even the drinks and food at the hotel were reasonably priced! I could write here all day as I feel I owe the hotel a favour for the fantastic experience and in particular the staff that work there. They deserve a particular mention as I’ve found at other hotels that the staff are just rude and not interested in customer satisfaction whatsoever.

The staff was friendly. But I wasn’t able to sleep at all with people shouting in the lobby until 3am. On top on that I sat at restaurant to get breakfast for over 30 minutes waiting for someone to take my order only for them to tell me breakfast wasn’t available anymore where there was 3 minutes to spare before the cut off. Lots of potential. Terrible experience.
