Hotel 2 Bintang di Santorini

Cheap, very good location (just near to the Fira Bus Station), friendly staff. I could leave my luggage before check in time, even after checking out! I spent a night here, met some nice travelers, unfortunately they played music loudly until almost midnight. But it's okay as they stopped right at midnight so I could sleep well eventually. Overall, the hostel was good, although the room was kinda old (also the air cond, but it worked well). For me, it was just worth the price.

We stayed at Hotel Castro for our honeymoon in June 2023. The 6 nights we stayed where unforgettable. The hotel itself is magnificent, exceptionally top standard in both cleanliness and hospitality from lovely family who own it. Kiri Chi is so lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her or her family Good choice of fresh food for breakfast each day. The weather in Santorini was fantastic and the views from our balcony were lovely. The beach is about 10 min walk from hotel and quite rocky, definitely need your swimming shoes. The choice of restaurants and shops along the beach are amazing. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Castro, we look forward to returning and seeing you all again Paven & Zak

Convenient location - the hotel is close to terminus for the bus from the airport. I also caught the bus from the same terminus to / from Oia. Comforable room and ensuite, immaculately clean and serviced daily. The room had a sunny balcony with two chairs / table, overlooking the street. The Kippos Restaurant next door was excellent - good food and reasonable prices (for Santorini!). Reception happy to keep luggage before / after checkout (The only thing I didn’t like was the reluctance to provide extra tea bags! I offered to return my two coffee sachets for tea bags but nope! I had extra tea bags with me so all good.)

We were arriving very early morning to Santorini and I booked an extra night so we had a hotel room when we got there to rest and unwind after a long trip from America . We messaged the hotel in advance to be sure it would not be a problem. When I got to the hotel no one was there. We waited, and around 7.40 am hotel staff arrived, and let us know we had wait until 8 when front desk will open. We were there , they were there but still we had to wait. We booked and PAID long time ago for a “caldera view room“ and we got a bottom floor room without any balcony or no terrace, no window with view at all the the ocean, No even stepping out of the door to the comunal terrace filled with not very well treated plans. We went to front desk and the smiling, open the window and said “here is the view.” I just responded, “yes and it is not my room“ she was trying to save the situation and it felt like a joke. Then she told me she could not do anything, there was no supervisor on the property, and the only thing to do would be for me (not her) to send an email to the property. This is totally unacceptable and really bad customer service. After that, nothing else mattered. Breakfast was very good, but every day was exactly the same - last day we just had coffee and went out for breakfast. My recommendation, spend a little of more money, and stay in place where they really value as a customer and show they care about you . Situations like this can ruin your vacation.

The hotel is about 10 mins walking from the bus station, very near to the blue roof church in Fira. Clean and cozy, the owner is very nice and share stories to me also give recommendations of traveling nearby. I will recommend to stay there with proper cost,

Attention les photos sur le site de réservation sont ambiguës, seules les villas privées disposent d un jacuzzi et vue mer , nous avons eu une chambre avec une petite fenêtre donnant sur le couloir commun sans aucune vue , le balcon est commun au 4 chambres sans aucune intimité , trop étroit 4 petites chaises collés les unes aux autres ( pas de transat ) Pas de piscine Le petit dej est très léger et peu varié ( pas de buffet) 4 formules aux choix identiques tous les jours (café filtre imbuvable ,jus,pancake),(café , 2 tranches de pain , jus , fromage blanc ) La salle du petit dej est trop petite et fait office du restaurant de l hôtel donc trop bruyant car trop de passages de clients extérieurs à l hôtel Si non l emplacement est pas mal et personnel aimable

Just back after 12 nights here. I just want to start by challenging other reviews about the staff. We found the staff wonderful. They were/are friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and very very hard working. They work long shifts day after day - whether that’s reception, bar/beach or breakfast. The cleaner/cleaning was a joy to behold our rooms left spotless every day - and endless bedding and towel changes. Also towels for the beach by the bar every day. Hotel rooms always evoke a very personal response. We loved our wee room - great air con - TV showing every Euros game (lets not discuss Scotland) - great sized fridge, so you can stock up on water/beer/juice/snacks. Toilet & shower small but superb pressure etc. Breakfast is more than adequate for eating abroad - but starting every morning with Greek yoghurt & honey is just bliss. The post breakfast you have the arduous task of walking a matter of feet to the beach. Each establishment has beds in front (whether restaurant or bar) and the beds are used on the expectation that you make a purchase from the establishment - a litre of water say is €2 or so. We never not got a bed. The hotel’s are really comfy and each couple has a palapas for shade. If you get the munchies or the Club Sandwich - genuinely a 2 people sized portion. But you can also go and grab takeaway from elsewhere - as long as you’ve bought something from the hotel bar. The beach is pebbly - but not prohibitively so - we rook the swim shoe trainer thing me bobs - worked a treat. The water is sublime. There’s usually a breeze so be extra careful with the old sun lotion. But I think the Hotel and our holiday were sublime. Made by the staff and the location.

Hotel very nice Mr oleg who runs hotel superb can't do enough for you. Alexandra and rest of staff so helpful. Room was very clean. Fridge in room no kettle. Aircon and safe free to use. Only downside bathroom very small and no balcony in room. And no pool at hotel. Although there is a bar within 10 metres who let you use pool 10 euros for 2 beds and parasol. Be careful with sunbeds on beach. Some u can pay 30 euros for. But look for bars that say free to customers u only need to buy a drink from them. Also recommend irish bar do the best English breakfast 8 euros best price. And if u fancy a great pizza visit poco loco just walk down from hotel on right hand side Chris is amazing. Pizza done in Wood pizza oven so light. Great place take beach shoes. Very stoney beach. And when walking in sea be careful u step down off a ledge. Great place

We’ve just returned after a 10 night stay in this hotel, it was perfect for us. We had a sea view room with balcony, definitely worthwhile booking this, it was a lovely place to relax. Room itself was good, bed and pillows lovely and comfortable and thank goodness for good A/C for some relief from the heat. Bathroom was spacious with a great shower as well. Cleanliness throughout was excellent and room was serviced every day by a lovely friendly lady. Reception team were excellent and really helpful, especially so Ignatio (apologies if name is incorrect) - he was lovely and nothing too much trouble. Finally, breakfast was delicious - simple, authentic and plentiful, all made and presented with care and pride and a different hot dish was available every day. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful stay.

Lovely hotel that is very central in Fira. We stayed on the hotel side of Antonia and loved the decor of the room. We appreciated that they had shutters outside to help keep the noise and light of the room. The room was nicely appointed with many lights and we enjoyed the decor. The bed and pillows were very comfy and we appreciated that there was a coffee/tea station and a mini fridge in the room. The room was large enough for the two of us and there was a nice small balcony outside with a small table and two chairs. The bathroom shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed only had one sheet on it but there was a comforter and the temperature was easy to control. There was slippers available in the room which were good for the cold washroom floor. The hotel rooms have smart TVs that are easy to connect to for Disney+ or Netflix but you have to install an application if you'd like to screencast. The hotel has some nice common areas to hang out including two pool areas and a space by reception. The pools were closed when we came in March but it was also a little cool so we did not mind. They should be cleaned and ready to go by the summer. We really enjoyed the space by reception where there are lots of seats and benches to sit and hang out with other guests, or in our case the rest of our family. Anytime you are in the common area the staff will offer to make you a coffee or tea which was very nice of them. The staff are sincere and welcoming. Once we checked in they asked if we had some time or if we would want to go directly to our rooms. We said we would have time and they brought out a map of Santorini and marked down the places we could check out during our stay. The hotel also offers a good tour of the island for 40 Euros per person which includes 7 stops including Oia, red sand beach, a black sand beach and the monestary. We had 5 people in our group and did our own tour using a car rental company nearby but would consider the hotel's tour if we were just a couple. The hotel staff were helpful and responsive even before we came - they assisted us with a booking error I had made and we resolved it quickly over the phone and a short email. Transport to/from the hotel from the airport is easy because there is a bus station nearby and it costs 2 euros per person and the bus station is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The bus wasn't running too frequently during our stay on Santorini and if that is the case during your stay you can book the hotel's shuttle service - they have a large comfy van and charge 7 Euros per person. The alternative is a taxi and you are at the will of the driver for the ~10 minute drive and could be charged 40-50 from what we hear. The hotel does not offer breakfast or room service but there are many good restaurants nearby. The hotel recommended a few that were within a five minute walk of the hotel and the one we tried was lovely. There is a grocery store about 100 m from the hotel that has pretty much everything and there's a bakery near the Fira Main Square. Souvenirs can also be bought at the Fira Main Square and they probably have the best prices we saw in Santorini for souvenirs! Overall, it was a great stay and because we stayed in March we got an awesome price. The room we had was nice, quiet and comfy during our stay.
