Check-in was quick and easy enough. I was allocated a deluxe twin, and as I was going to be there 2 weeks asked if I could have a deluxe kingsize. Without any real effort to accommodate my request (a literal 30 second look at a display) I was told "no", being there for 14 days thought that they would have at least made the effort. Throughout my time here will say the staff were ok, without actually being friendly or anything, just did their job, no more, no less. There are two car parks, the main and an overflow, not sure if they are full if you are allowed to spill out into the area used by McDonalds. Location was based primarily on traveling business, the location being close to main road systems. If you had no vehicle there is a bus stop 5 mins walk away, a McDonalds in the same location as the hotel, and shops (supermarket etc) about a 30 minute / 1.8km or so walk away. Room was on the 5th floor, quite a small room but just big enough so that you had a little space. The two single beds were SMALL, and VERY uncomfortable as so ridiculously soft, the pillow was comfortable though. There was a decent desk to work at, with a comfortable enough chair, a TV (not used except to watch the Euro 2024 football), a small fridge (that didn't chill very well) and a DeLonghi coffee machine that seemed to simply destroy pods and I just used it for hot water to add to the coffee sachets I bought at the supermarket. Why they didn't just put a small kettle and coffee/sugar sachets is beyond me, would have been far better and much easier. Temperature could be controlled within the room but always seemed to be colder during the day (when set to 20-21 Deg) and hot at night (even though set at 18 Deg). Not sure if they turned a chiller or something off at night but there was definitely a difference. Made for some uncomfortable sticky nights at times. Bathroom was a decent size although there was no light in the shower area and it was hidden away a little, so in the shower it was always dark and you had to be careful of some very sharp edges not to slip when walking out, especially as there were no grab handles. The water from the tap was a funny colour when run, but would clear after a minute or two (see pic). Water was always hot. Cleaning of the room most of the time I didn't need as I was working in the room, but on the occasions where it was needed it was a little disappointing. For example, normally just asked for the rubbish to be emptied, but after a period I asked them to change my bedding (I stayed in the room), the lady just changed the bottom sheet and was remaking it without changing the quilt or pillow covers! She didn't seem too impressed when I pointed out that I wanted them changing too! Another time, due to TEAMS meeting I had the do not disturb sign out until 14:00, then took it off.... nobody came to clean the room that day. Indeed, many times piles of dirty laundry or rubbish were noted in the corridors and still there MANY hours later. Lau
