Beautiful Hotel and Beach, but a Few Things Could Be Improved
The hotel itself was beautiful, no doubt about that. There were quite a lot of Russian guests staying here during our visit. The hotel pool was lovely, and the beach was absolutely beautiful, with incredibly soft, fine sand.
Unfortunately, swimming in the sea is only allowed within a small designated area, which is a bit disappointing. However, I understand that China has strict safety regulations. As someone who is Chinese myself, I actually appreciated this, but my European girlfriend wanted to enjoy a proper swim in the sea, which unfortunately isn't allowed here.
Overall, we had a very good experience. The rooms are beautiful, and the resort has everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday. There are also some great places to eat just a short distance from the hotel.
The main downside is that everything is overpriced. I understand that it's a Marriott, but charging 500 RMB for laundry seems excessive, especially when you're already paying around €200 per night.
Another minor issue was the payment process when booking through Trip.com. The original payment remained on hold during our stay, but we had to pay the same amount again at the hotel. Trip.com refunded the original payment a few days after checkout, but having the same amount tied up twice was an unexpected inconvenience.
MY RATINGS
Room: 5/5 – Beautiful rooms with everything you need.
Service: 4.5/5 – Great service, but some extras are expensive.
Breakfast: 4/5 – Very crowded, but the staff replenished everything quickly.
Hotel Restaurants: 3/5 – We tried the hotel's Japanese restaurant. The food was good, but expensive. Walk just 1–2 km outside the hotel and you'll find better and cheaper options. I'd consider the hotel restaurants a last resort.
Pool & Beach: 5/5 – Beautiful pool and beach, although swimming in the sea is restricted.
Overall, a beautiful resort and a great place to relax, especially if you're looking for a comfortable beach holiday. Just be prepared for higher prices and limited swimming areas in the sea.
