The Mountview

Excellent location, perfect if, like us your visit was for the racing at Olivers Mount. Which was within walking distance...just! (it is quite hilly!) Nice friendly welcome. Room spotlessly clean, and freshly decorated. Despite the room facing the road, not a disturbing amount of traffic noise. En-suite tiny but functional. We did not avail ourselves of the optional breakfast, which was offered. In addition to the closeness to Olivers Mount, the fabulous sea views and charming cliff lift were just round the corner.

Arrived slightly late apparently, although the option to arrive between 8 and 10 was the one I chose when booking, the hotel phoned asking if we were still attending, I told them we were approx 10 minutes away, exactly 10 mins later the phone went again, the lady was quite rude. We were given our room number and told the 2nd floor, The lady then left. Lots of steps. Room was okay, little small. Went down for breakfast the following morning and told we should've booked, which we weren't given the opportunity to do upon our arrival, plus she had already gone, who were we supposed to tell!! no breakfast. Sunday morning departure, stood in the hall to leave, the same rude lady walked straight passed us, no good morning, no thank you for staying with us, totally blanked, left the key and walked out.

Mae the manager was very helpful room was clean and tidy would definitely go back also I will recommend to family and friends thank u for a stress free stay see u again soon also very close to sea front

Great location within walking distance to the south gardens and tramways which also offer brilliant views over towards Scarborough and Scarborough Harbour. Lovely staff and place is full of traditional charm. We had a room that offered its own door and access point which was ideal for us. Lovely clean and spacious and nice bathroom. Comfy bed with nice sitting area by the window. Nice and quiet location too away from the noise of the centre be only a short distance away to get to any part of the town you want or need too. Shops are less than 5 minutes walk away and local bus and tram ways are also close by. Book in advance as Scarborough during peak seasons can get busy and book directly for the best rates. Would recommend The Mountview for all travellers due to its very fair pricing for excellent accommodation and warm and friendly hosts.

We stayed here for two nights this weekend as we were attending a gig at the Open Air Theatre. On arrival we were made very welcome and given the bedroom on the ground floor. We were then kect to ourselves which was great. The hotel is very clean, outside and in. Light, airy and modern, It is being well looked after. It is also very quiet so no trouble sleeping. We were able to park for free right on the roasaide outaide the hotel. We opted for breakfast on our final morning and this was good value at £7.50. I cant fault this little B&B, it's a very nice place. Just be mindful it is South Bay so a good walk into the centre. It is doable though, we did it a few times. My fitbit was in shock at the number of steps I did over the weekend

My dance partner stayed here for 2 nights over Easter to attend a dance competition at the nearby Spa Ballroom. We chose this B & B for its proximity to the event we were attending and found access to the cliff ramps leading to the promenade that the Spa is situated on and the cliff lift really class and easy. The host Ces was an absolute star offering help with everything we needed during our stay, including moving many bags from our car to our spacious twin room with ensuite. The accommodation is newly decorated , fresh, clean, bright and modern. Nothing was too much trouble and we were supplied with an iron and board, extra tea bags etc. The shower was very very good, lots of hot water and power even when we arrived back late at night. The accommodation was quiet, no noisy guests, passing party people or loud traffic noise. We paid for the very reasonably priced and excellent freshly cooked breakfast which we were very glad of ahead of our long day. Thoroughly recommend a stay here if you fancy a few days on the beautiful Scarborough coast area. Parking is free on the road outside and quite residential street just opposite.
