Well where do I start, the check in was very slow about 30 minutes, we were not given a key untill 4 o'clock. We had a room on the second floor, the views were very good, but then it went down hill. We went down to the bar where we ordered a meal at 4.30 after an hour still no meal we asked where the meal was, the barmaid said she was trying to find it eventually after 1 hour 30 we had our (it was only prawn sandwich and chips. We went back to the bedroom and it was freezing, went to reception to point this out, the heating went on for about an hour then went off. This happened again on the second night, but no heating went on. So anyone going in September take a electric blanket or hot water bottle. This hotel is basic and very run down, and not worth the money

Great views across the bay and ideally situated for a visit to the Castle. The Norbreck is one of those strange hotels that seem to exist in an alternative universe, weird mix of furniture, crumbling exterior, everything just...not quite right. The staff were an equally random mix of characters, some perhaps a little too eccentric to be in customer facing roles. Our fellow guests ranged ranged from middle class cyclists to a few characters who may have just been released from an institution. Again, just odd. Breakfast was good and overall we had an OK stay. Would I go back? No.

Bed was comfy, with plenty storage, the bathroom was like something out of the 70s, the room itself wasn't the best, there was rubbish left from the previous visitors on the floor, the dusting hadn't been done for weeks, I wouldn't stay again, unless it has a massive amount of work done on it

Great hotel with amazing views of the north and south bay. Room was clean and had enough storage space for clothes. We didn’t eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. If you have mobility issues you would need to get a taxi to and from the hotel because it is a steep bank.

I stayed at the Norbreck hotel as part of a Shearings coach party. The positives fantastic views. Excellent evening meals. Breakfast standard not much of a cold option.The waiting staff in the restaurant are friendly. The negatives. The hotel is situated up a steep drive or lots of steps. Something for people with walking difficulties to be aware of. Quite a walk to any shop. Had a sea view room. Lovely view. Beds not very comfortable pillows seen better days. Bathroom dated quite a step into the bath for a shower. Dinning room in like a conservatory with excelliant views however when the sun is out no blinds. Bar area as no charotor just a room with tables chairs and a bar. Dance floor was mostly covered in bagged up laundry.

It’s a bit outdated hotel, but perfectly fits to this deprived little town that has so much to offer. The parking space is very limited and the management seemingly don’t care much for it to be overcrowded and make other tenants life hard by trying to manoeuvre out with their vehicle. The room was clean and neat, basically my overall experience was good enough

Lovely hotel staff really friendly rooms spotless clean breakfast was amazing couldn't fault the hotel only one negative check in could be earlier 3oclock is a bit late but would definitely stay again nothing was to much trouble lovely fluffy towels tea an coffee facilities in the room

Just spent two nights here.. was a bit unsure what to expect. Clean.comfy and a good spot for exploring. Can’t comment on food and drink as bar wasn’t open while we were there.. unsure if this will change as it seems like it’s just been taken over/reopened??? .for price we paid can’t go wrong . Thankyou for a lovely stay
