Hotel 5 Bintang Terbaik di Serrekunda

We have stayed at The Kairaba Beach Hotel for many years. We have seen it at it's best and now seen it at it's worst. Covid has a lot to answer for. It is so sad to see this Grand hotel so empty this year. Our first thought was to move hotels, but we have made many friends here at the hotel and feel at home here when we arrive. We decided to stay and even though the hotel is practically empty and working on a skeleton staff we felt obliged to stay and support. As usual the staff can't do enough for us. The management decided to allow local people to use the pool at a fee, and this has been taken up by them especially on the weekend. It gets very busy with lots of families n children most of whom can't swim. Which in turn is hard for the one pool attendent to manage as there can be up to 30 to 40 people in the pool. I understand that the management needs to bring in revenue but an extra pool attendent should be employed at the weekend. We need Whalley back at the pool❤️❤️ Breakfast is poor n not what we are used to, but on saying that we haven't gone hungry, it is once again so sad to see so few people in the hotel thus not a great selection and no buzz from it at breakfast from not being busy with guests. On the up side if we request something it is there the next day. On the whole yes it is quiet, we are under the impression that they no longer have a contract with Tui at the moment n can only be found on Gambia Experience which is expensive for the quality of the hotel at the moment. Personally I think that the hotel wasn't ready to accept guest in time for the winter holidays and with this, and what seems poor management from an higher level this once booming grand hotel has slipped into a sorry state. Hopefully with the support of regular guests that still belive in her and a higher better management plan the Grand old lady will get back to how she use to be once again in this fantastic location. We will always support as long as we are able thank you to all the stay you are doing an amazing job under the circumstances ❤️❤️

I attended as part of an overseas aid convoy, we were two days late arriving due to being stuck on a mud road in Mauritania. The females on the team that spoke with reservations got some special deals such as full board and laundry at reduced rates however nothing available if you were male. The first two days was heavy rain and my room was flooded twice on the toilet area, it's apparent this has happened many times before as there is mould and main the bathroom, you can smell the damp. There is a fridge in the room and I noticed people getting water daily to their doors, this appeared once for me during my 7 day stay. The pool is constantly filthy with flies and cockroaches, even a dead lizard, I asked for the pool to be swept snd this was ignored until the following morning, we were literally swimming amongst flies the whole time. Staff at the bar were confrontational and would talk to you in English but then talk about you in the local language. The restaurant manager last night was just aggressively shouting at the staff which wasn't a great dining experience. The spa is ok and I had a nice massage though the prices are ridiculously expensive at 110 euros for a 100 minute massage. Bearing in mind this is an average monthly salary for some it's clearly over priced. The beach is pleasant and you can walk for miles however the locals hassle you for money and gifts, complaining that you are rich white people who don't care about the gambians. My room was cleaned daily and there is a great laundry service however I would get bugs including cocoa roaches in my room also.

This hotel is one of my favourite hotels in The Gambia, I took my wife here for her birthday the location was perfect, The first room we stayed in had mould on the walls and smelled a bit damp, But once we spoke to the hotel manager Omar he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, He upgraded our rooms which was now flawless and right at the beach front for location and rooms this simply is one of the best hotels in The Gambia. We had a pool right outside our balcony door. This was also connected to the beach i truly loved this place it had a modern design but worked perfectly. I love the way the Pool glow up in thenight Time beautiful colour. This Hotel was both modern and beautiful with a slice of nature in the middle. I could just take pictures all day. As I said, this is one of my Favourite hotels in the Gambia and I’ve been to many from Coco Ocean, to Kasmai Beach Resort, Kololi Beach Resort to the Tamara Beach, and this hotel is far more better than many of these hotels. I will be definitely coming home again. The only downside was one of the waiters who kept trying to hitting on my wife speaking in Wolof this was off putting and unappropriate behaviour.

I hadnt been to Kombo since the incredible refurb and just WOW! Its always been a great hotel and not its just amazing! The manager Victor is around from first thing in the morning to last thing at night making sure all is just so & taking time to get to know everyone, he wrote us a beautiful personalised card after getting to know us welcoming us. He also organised a really lovely personalised dinner just for us after asking what our favourite foods where. The Sunday brunch was amazing! 100% recommend it! Our room cleaner Aime ceesay was really lovely and did an amaxing job! After seeing i put the flowers from the art she created on the bed she picked flowers and left a lovely little arrangement in our room. The hotel was always spotlessly clean everywhere, the food great and such a great choice and every member of staff were just brilliant and made our stay perfect! Cannot wait to get back soon!

Overall I rate this hotel as 4 stars. Having said that we did have a few issues. Someone previous referred to this hotel as Fawlty Towers. For the first few days of our 18 nights stay I could see where he was coming from. Problems first. On arrival at the airport we expected to be greeted by the taxi arranged through the hotel. It was not there. After many phone calls our ride arrived. If we went again I would not bother with 30 euro taxi ride and would take a local taxi at about £20 at silly o'clock. When we arrived at the hotel a man spoke to us and claimed he was the taxi driver due to pick us up, he was on time but we told him to go away. Complete nonsense. We didn't tell anyone to go away. Even as a first timer I could tell the Gambians apart. He was definitely not there. I refused his card. No way would I use him. Our first room was large and comfortable but the safe didn't work. The next morning someone came to show me how it operated and agreed it was broken. We were immediately moved to a new room. The new room was large and comfortable but the toilet wouldn't flush overnight. Not normally too much of a problem but my husband was very ill with v&d due to fish allergy. Being ill and the toilet not flushing all night was very bad. They said they would fix it. We went away on an overnight trip and when we returned I was ill - nothing to do with the hotel. The toilet didn't work. My husband ran up and down the stairs a few times. The night man would flick a switch in a cupboard somewhere and the sewage pump would work again for an hour or so. We moved rooms again the next day as we refused to be fobbed off and they said no other rooms had that issue. We had toilet flushing issues again but this time the issue was fixed quickly. WiFi in the third room didn't work unless I stood outside our door. Plus points: The staff were lovely and helpful. Malick, our room attendant, was very kind and caring. He arranged for a fridge that actually got cold as the one in the 3rd room got cool only. The bed was very large and comfortable. High quality sheets and towels were a bonus. His and her sinks were good. Shower was good. Sprayed in various directions with easy to use controls. TV in room showed British football - big plus. Air con worked well. WiFi worked well in parts of the hotel. They had frequent conferences and seemed to move routers to suit the business people. Once we learned where we could get the best signal we could easily Skype call back to the UK. Sunbeds were very comfortable and plentiful. Actually we usually got a good WiFi signal by the pool. Pool looked clean and was used frequently by Europeans (albeit cold). Breakfast was good. Supposed to start at 7.30am but this only worked if we stood there and told them what we wanted. The hotel is an oasis of quiet, calm, charming efficiency. The rooms are large and stylishly decorated, and the beds are very comfortable. My room 720, had a lovely view over the main pool to the restaurant and the sea.Everything worked including a very efficient Air Con. Breakfast every morning was a delight, a hot counter producing delicious food to order, and a buffet of continental style meats, cheese and various Salads. The breads were delicious and the pastries looked wonderful, but I don't have a sweet tooth so didn't try them. Finally I have to say how wonderful the staff are with genuine smiles and prompt service. I would definitely recommend this as a restful place to stay, an escape at the end of a day from the noisy, dusty, exciting hustle and bustle of everyday Gambia.

We stayed at this resort as a group of nine, and very Apartments and the Nian Villa. The resort itself is a treasure. Its location is fantastic as it is very close the ***** and restaurants and bars. . The apartment suited couples and single travellers . The staff are friendly and welcoming although we felt the site manager was a little dismissive to some of our enquiries . We booked direct which saved us a little bit of money included free air-conditioning . The grounds are lovely in some areas, although some work is required around the Nian Villa . The Philip was a beautiful Hideaway, which suited a couple and two single travellers. It also accommodated the rest of our party when they came over for drinks et cetera . We all agree that we would definitely return
