Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen

Ok I got a lot to say about the Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen - a hotel with luxurious amenities but lacking basic breakfast provisions… Dyson hair drier, toto washlet, glass bottled water are all under expected. MO shenzhen used very highend sanitary fitting brands, reliable and taken very good care of. I am very picky on sanitary fittings and cleanliness and I have not noticed any issues. Kudos to the housekeeping team. One must understand what sets MO apart from other hotels is the impeccable attention to details. Its interior design is far superior to other Shenzhen hotels. If you are architecture fan and are tired of the substandard detailing in other Shenzhen hotels please do try MO shenzhen. Now… the problem for me was with the breakfast. It occurred to me that MO focused way too much on cantonese food and was probably swayed by foreigner’s perception of what “oriental culture” consists of. Granted that the food was of high quality - good sauce good ingredients. But it is rly rly rly basic to provide rice. In every top hotels I visited around Asia, I never had to miss fried rice. It was very dissimilar experience in MO compared to Ritz carlton I stayed few weeks before - who probably had 3 times more variety of offerings. I wouldnt hesitate to pay extra if there was a better breakfast offering - as many would understand that this is just attitude issue. The greatest hotel service in Asia. MO group is known for this and I cannot agree more. I knew of this ever since many years ago when I was in Guangzhou MO next to Taikoo. Overall, as said earlier, MO shenzhen gave me mixed feelings. I am astounded by the cleanliness, detailing but I cannot hop on the MO Fan boat yet because of the breakfast. Aiya!

The hotel locates in a very convenient area with direct access to a shopping mall and various resturant options. The room setting is also very nice and enjoy the stay very much. Receptionist Christina is very knowledgable and professional & Super helpful. We're planning to go to Kong Disneyland with my family. she is super patient to help us how to buy tickets as well as recommended many interesting places for us where we can enjoy our trip.And her rich knowledge surrounding hotel also pointed us good opinion to have a good meal & drink so that we can spend a very wonderful new year. I have travelled lots a year and this is the best hotel I stayed. I'll definitely share my experience to friends and colleagues and recommend the hotel for future stay stay in Shenzhen.Once again thank you Christina you made my day for this trip.

Shenzhen Mandarin Oriental hotel, is an excellent luxury hotel in the city. The room was wonderful, large space with good scenic skyline views. The swimming pool was also wonderful with luxury design. However, one point that drag my rating for the service element is its customer service representative before my arrival. Before my arrival, I contacted Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen by phone multiple times to arrange and confirm celebration for Wedding Anniversary including room decorations and cake. However, much to my disappointment for this hotel in the field of luxury hotel, the customer representative’s attitude was poor, with an unwelcoming attitude. Even though the actual arrangement of room decorations and cake was satisfactory and up to my expectation. Quality training and supervision is required to train the customer service representative, because regardless of how the actual experience of the stay is, the first impression with the communication with the hotel prior arrival has led down the experience. Nonetheless, the overall hotel and the rooms are wonderful.

Spent Christmas Eve here at this hotel and made the right choice. Will be back again for sure.

Super nice hotel for celebrating special occasions. The room is spacious and you can see the city view of SH in super wide angle. Hotel had been prepared cake and roses for us.

Very good service! Excellent view facing the park! And the interior is nice with slick design.

Only 10 mins ride from Huanggang border and the hotel is directly linked to shopping mall and basically we spent 2 days in the complex. The hotel also prepare birthday cake and drinks as well, great experience!

Wonderful stay. View from the room was just okay but already got upgraded. Apart from that, everything was amazing, incl room size, service, spa & pool facility. The view from MO Bar was fantastic; we love the vibe. The complimentary breakfast (on trip.com) was an highlight! Even if I was asked to pay I would still have it again. Spacious and lots of varieties (dim sum was just so-so though).
