Our 5th visit to this hotel. We first came 10 years ago when it had been open just 3 days, some of the trees and shrubs were still being planted, they have now matured and are well established We have not been here for a few years but saw the excellent reviews continuing, so we booked over a year ago in order to get a swim up room. It was good to come back to a familiar hotel and a super friendly welcome again from Savas who is a huge asset to the hotel. In the room we noticed a few changes, plate of sweet treats and a bottle of wine when we arrived, new flooring in the room and (swim up rooms only) new wooden sunbeds with thicker more comfortable covers. Bedding and pillows even better than last visit. There is still a safe and minibar fridge which is restocked daily. The next day we were welcomed by Ergin who told us about some other changes they have made, including becoming more environmentally friendly and changes to food and menus. He is determined to continue making positive changes. The food selection was always very good but is now even better. One Friday was seafood evening with a sushi bar plus a display of fresh fish from which you could choose and have your fish cooked while you wait. Alternative Fridays is meat with a selection of meats that you can have cooked for you. Plenty of other choices too both evenings. There was also a Turkish evening with tasty kebab meat and a superb selection of Turkish desserts. The usual desserts here are simply the best we have ever had. In any hotel. Anywhere. The food in upstairs Culinarium and Olive restaurants has changed with different choices to the main restaurant, both at lunch and evening, again all excellent with friendly service. Significantly increased choices and quality since our last visit. Menus now on tablets, not paper! They are like going to a nice restaurant but without the cost! There are however bottles of good wine available to buy if you want but no pressure to do so. We had the Ancyra Sauvignon Blanc which we enjoyed. You can go upstairs lunchtime too for different choices and still be served at your table. The evening entertainment was better than previous visits, another positive change. Just have to mention some staff by name Ufuk (Gorgeous George), Mehmet and Nurettin but doing so is almost unfair to other bar and restaurant staff - including some familiar faces- who work equally hard. This includes those we don’t see much such as room cleaners, maintenance staff, kitchen staff and pool cleaners who all contribute to make the hotel what it is. Also not forgetting the gardeners who keep everything watered and looking great. We went to beach for first time, good loungers and umbrellas, the sea was warmer than the pool. Again great friendly service from Ercan who has a selection of cold and hot drinks there. Certainly hope this visit will not be our last.
