Dar Said

Fabulous hotel! Very charming and attentive and friendly staff. The attention to detail was phenomenal and super quick to accommodate our needs. Would definitely recommend to stay here. The breakfast also was very fresh - love this country and would come again for sure.

With an OAT travel group for 2 nights. Down a cobblestone walkway reachable by taxi but otherwise somewhat treacherous to walk. Very nice architecturally attractive rooms. No coffee in rooms. Limited options nearby for dining, as the area is a walking cobblestone touristic street with but a few relatively expensive dining options nearby and some limited street food eateries. The pizza place nearby (100 m)has wonderful kebabs and gyros as well and will deliver. Breakfast was included and is superior! I recommend this hotel only for those without ambulation limitations.

This was my favorite hotel inTunisia. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The French influence made the experience extra special and all the staff at the hotel were always smiling and very helpful. The food was excellent and you can get breakfast served in your room, or courtyard or take it to the various beautiful sitting areas. The views were beautiful and grounds were well kept. Staying here was just pure pleasure.

This boutique hotel is an absolute delight. Excellent location, clean, excellent service and superb breakfast. We were visiting Tunisia for the first time. It was quite a little haven away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful views from the garden and perfect for photographs. We enjoyed the garden(which had olive and orange trees), the pool area (swimming pool was not heated so quite cool) where we ordered beer or cafe au laits. I also utilized the living room area to conduct some business where you can help yourself to some mint tea. The staff was lovely, especially Miriam at the desk and Ibrahim who helped with everything from our luggage to serving us coffee. We were in room 22 which was a beautiful room but if you want a more quiet location I would ask for one further in the back. Our window opened up to the minaret (local mosque) which called to prayer 5 times a day from the loudspeaker. I find it meditative but if you don't want to be awaken at sunrise choose a different room. They also offer massage and spa trea**ents. We were too busy to use that service but we did have our laundry done at an affordable price. I would say the only drawback would be for those with mobility issues but the entire town of Sidi Bou Said would be difficult in a wheelchair unfortunately. The village is atop a big hill with cobbled stoned streets and alleys. We loved our stay and highly recommend.

Stayed here two nights at the end of a tour of Tunisia. Very nice hotel, with comfortable room (#19). the only drawbacks - to use the shower requires climbing over a tall wall to enter the tub. There are also a lot of stairs to enter this hotel when coming from the main street -- suggest that you come from above and walk down.

Beautiful hotel with good sized garden and swimming pool. Very helpful and friendly staff, well restored building and beautifully done up. Lots of comfortable places to sit. Is well placed in the centre of town with restaurants and cafes near by. Wi-Fi is free but can cut out at busy times.

Probably the best hotel in Sidi bou said. Stayed in a few there now, there all pretty good but Dar said has a bit of everything and is more reasonably priced compared to the likes of Villa Bleue. A little tip there are taxi apps now one called in drive and the other Bolt, all taxi's are allowed to drive upto to the hotel, so if they try to drop you at the bottom of the hill refuse to get out, they soon remember the way. Failing that you can use the hotel taxi but my only complaint is that it is very over priced. I think if it is your first visit to Tunisia Dar Said is the perfect introduction. I have been travelling backwards and forwards to Tunis for around 12 years now and can honestly say its one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Also don't pay for breakfast through the booking app, breakfast is always included.

We really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful. The property is 4 stars but service is closer to a 3 star hotel level. Fine with me generally, as I typically don't expect to be waited on like luxury hotels like to do anyways. One other note, coordinate your taxi transportation with the hotel. It's cheaper than a taxi running its meter and more importantly the hotel taxi will drive you right to the hotel. The road is blocked for non-residents so a normal taxi will drop you off at the end of the road and you'd have to walk a bit to the hotel. PROS: -Perfectly situated in the middle of Sidi Bou Said, you can walk to the beach easily or around the area with no problems. -Amazing sea view, with a nice garden and cozy pool area. -Nice breakfast buffet. -Spacious rooms. CONS: -Staff is a bit lackadaisical, it's never very clear what's going on at the front desk or pool area. -Pool area is a bit too intimate when there's more than about 4 people there at the same time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dar Said. The garden is breathtaking and the breakfast was delicious. All of the staff were wonderful to interact with. They even did a small currency exchange for us on the weekend when banks were closed.
