We stayed at St Moritz Youth Hostel for a night after taking the Glacier Express from Zermatt. One might think lesser of a hostel as compared to a hotel but after our night stay at St Moritz Youth Hostel, I found myself truly underestimating the service a hostel can offer, much unbeknownst to a general opinion. And we owe thanks to Iris and her team’s wonderful hospitality and service, the stay was a memorable and wonderful experience. It was the last night of our honeymoon trip in Switzerland. Although it was snowy, sheer cold and our skins were shivering from the brr conditions, the kindness and hospitality by Iris and her team who went above and beyond truly, exudes warmth from within, which made our experience an exceptional one. One that would etched in our memories for many decades to come. We felt that this hostel provides extremely good value and is only a 10 mins bus ride away from the train station. The bus stop is right outside the hostel so it’s convenient even with big luggages. We bought 24 hours tickets at the station for the bus ride. Hostel is clean and has a good welcoming vibe. Although we stayed in the shared bathroom, bathroom was clean and near, didn’t have to wait long to use. There was also a basin in the room so it’s quite convenient. You don't have to step out to brush teeth or do any washing. Do bring your own soap, u can borrow a hair dryer from reception. We had dinner at the hostel, it was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful too. I would highly highly recommend this place to stay , you are in safe hands and well taken care of by the awesome team! They are patient and answer all your questions and share with you more about how to get around. St Moritz is a small town, but the experience and takeaways we obtained from our stay, is far greater, significant than the place. This in my opinion, is what you call travelling for an experience, with an experience. Thank you so much to Iris and the team (sorry didn’t manage to get your names!!)!! Superb is an understatement.

I have been to the Chalet Speciale for easter sunday 2023, with my family and friends. We were greeted with a smile and we were amazed by how it is possible to enjoy Italian cuisine made with simple ingredients but presented with creativity. With a short 30min walk suitable for everyone, it is possible to reach the Chalet Speciale from the St Moritz station.

I have stayed at the Hauserhotel several times over the past 5 years and it continues to be one of the best mid range hotels in Switzerland. The welcome, the location, the comfort are all superb and I recommend anyone coming to St Moritz to come and stay here. It is that simple, you will not be disappointed and only impressed. This is a fantastic hotel. It is hard for me to believe this is not the #1 hotel in Sils on TripAdvisor. We had seen an article in the Wall Street Journal about visiting Sils and staying in the Waldhaus, a large and classic grand old hotel. By the time we made our arrangements, there were no openings at the Waldhaus, and we landed on the Parkhotel Margna. Boy, are we glad things worked out that way! We went up to the Waldhaus for cocktails and dinner while we were in Sils to get some idea of what it was like. We were very happy to get back to Parkhotel Margna. The Waldhaus was almost like a museum, a grand old hotel keeping up its traditions, and one had the feeling that many of the families staying there had been coming back for years, even generations. On the other hand, the Parkhotel Margna was recently renovated (early in COVID) and kept a lot of its charm but has a very, very clean, modern feel. Hotel Margna is a very luxurious hotel but in a very modern and welcome way, and is in no way stuffy. It was definitely the better choice for us. Our room had a lot of inlaid wood and wonderful views. The WC (toilet and small sink) was in a separate room from the shower and main sink, which is always nice. The toilet itself is worth mentioning, as it was one of those Japanese multifunction electronic combinations toilet / bidets. You don’t know what you’ve been missing until you try one. We had a lovely view of the mountains from our room (check out the photo). While on the map it appears the hotel is a little distance from the town, in fact the walk is very flat and easy. (In contrast, the Waldhaus, while closer, is up a steep windy street that can be concerning to walk at night.) And, a word about the self-park garage, built under a field so as not to disturb the view, and connected to the hotel underground. OMG, I don’t think I’ve ever been in such a clean garage. Perhaps only Jay Leno has a garage to rival it. It was absolutely spotless, freshly painted, and even had art hanging on the walls! Breakfast was wonderful, with very fresh bread and so many other choices, and they were happy to make eggs for you. We also had a wonderful traditional dinner in the Stuva, and had drinks a couple of times in the hotel bar, which had a live keyboardist. Most of the hotel guests were European (not American, as we are). We were there the first week in September with another couple, for just a couple of days of seeing the mountains. It was a wonderful time to be there. It took me a few months to write this review as I wanted to be sure I had time to do this establishment justice. For anyone thinking of staying anywhere in the Engadin, I would strongly recommend you consider the Parkhotel Margna.

Great location and helpful receptionist. For the rate they charge, I think it wouldn’t be unreasonable though to provide toothbrush or shaver upon request which they don’t do. Breakfast was acceptable relative to other Swiss hotels we’ve stayed in.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the main shopping streets and restaurants. The center of St Moritz is located considerably higher than the main railway station. Taking a taxi is CHF 25, but an alternative is to take an escalator to the city center. If you exit the station, go left and cross the parking garage to the escalator which will take you the center of St Moritz. After that it is a 5 - 10 minute walk of which half is uphill. The Receptionist at check in was helpful, check in was smooth. The room was a bit outdated and the bed was very soft. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable. On the upside: if you book a room on the lakeside, the view is incredible.

Our favourite ”base camp” in Engadin; we come every year at least once for some days of skiing (in the winter) or bikign (in the summer). Very functional and good rooms/studios, really like the option to cook ourselves and overall great value-for-money, especially with the discounted ski tickets (sleep and ski).

When you stay at a hotel that opened in 1869, has been run by the same family for four generations, and housed athletes and officials during the 1928 Olympics, you know you’re going to enjoy something special. In fact, Steffani the Rabbit, the mascot of the 1928 Games, became the hotel’s namesake. With sweeping views of the city, the interior completes the image of a quintessential Swiss Alps mountain chalet. From the large fireplace in the lobby to the indoor pool and full body massages, the place is just special. And the staff are incredibly kind! The complimentary breakfast is quite good, but the room service food is only mediocre. Nonetheless, you’ll not only fall in love with the town but this hotel as well!
