Room decor, furnishings are very nice and luxurious. Fantastic service recovery as well. I was not able to check in until 4pm and hotel gave me complimentary breakfast as well as 2pm late check out. Very nice gestures. Given the hotel architect, location, rooms itself and service, will definitely be back to stay in future!

Breakfast was excellent and the location was great. Both the bus and subway stops are nearby and within walking distance. There's also a shopping mall right across the street.

This was my second stay, and everything was just as excellent as before. The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel's location is fantastic. The subway station is right outside, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Many attractions are also within easy walking distance.

Hotel location is great! it is a heritage hotel with beautiful furnishings. However being an old building, the layout of the interior (such as the lobby and restaurant) can be quite cramped due to large pillars. Breakfast is quite good. The room beds are very comfortable. Walls / windows quite sound proof - no noise from outside traffic nor from other rooms. However I couldn’t quite figure out the room lights to only hv just the bedside lights on.

The location is definitely this hotel's biggest standout advantage. It's only about 100 meters from the Green Line metro, which goes directly to the airport. From there, you can easily transfer to other lines to reach various places, and almost all city attractions are within walking distance, saving you from getting lost in unfamiliar territory. The breakfast is extensive; I only managed to try less than a tenth of the options, sticking to fruits, eggs, and some meats, missing out on many freshly prepared specialties. The room was clean and the bedding comfortable. The drinks in the mini-fridge were complimentary. The only drawback was that the balcony room was pretty useless; it didn't offer any views, and in August, it was too hot to go out anyway, so it felt like a waste. Since it's a renovated old building, the lobby felt a bit cramped. The major downside is the strict 3 PM check-in, with no possibility of an early check-in. However, the excellent location outweighs most of these inconveniences, making it a place I'd consider visiting again.

I chose this hotel specifically for an event at Singapore Management University (SMU). Its location is excellent, not only being a stone's throw from SMU but also situated at the very spot where Singapore was founded. The surrounding Raffles area was developed in conjunction with it during the early colonial period, with interconnected assets back then. The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated, preserving its historical charm while adding modern comforts. While the public areas are constrained by the building's layout, an indoor commercial space has been cleverly integrated along the eaves of the guest room building, providing an extension for hotel dining. The only downside is that everything closes too early in the evening; by 10 PM, there's nowhere to eat, so you have to venture outside. Guest rooms are also space-limited, but the bathroom facilities are emphasized, with the bathroom space taking up almost half of the room – a clever design touch, no doubt. There was a slight hiccup during our stay: in one of our rooms, the power suddenly went out just before bedtime, rendering the air conditioning and outlets unusable. They couldn't fix it overnight, but thankfully, the hotel provided another room for us to sleep in, and we didn't get to bed until 1:30 AM. It was finally repaired the next day, reportedly with quite a bit of commotion during the repairs. The hotel's response was fairly prompt, and they expressed their apologies. Overall, the hotel's service system is comprehensive, and the staff are well-trained. A middle-aged male staff member who greeted us upon arrival, from the lobby to escorting us to our room, was incredibly proactive. He conversed with guests in different languages, and although I don't know his exact position, he left a deep impression on me, as someone who has been in the hotel industry for a long time.

The hotel service was excellent and very welcoming. Breakfast service was also very attentive, and you could even order food to be delivered to your room. The hotel's location is superb, surrounded by attractions, making it very convenient to walk to any place within 10-20 minutes. As for the room, it was beyond words – spacious, clean, and luxurious. Highly recommended!!

1st day: check in at mid night. It takes long time for us. When comes in the room, it is not the room type shown in photos with our booking and descriptions with its area of 40sqf (see photos). We tried to call the hoteline. No one pick up for 10 times call and the line always cut by another side few times. Finally, a gentleman picked up the call (same guy upon check in) kept saying it is the correct room type and my partner said it is not and the staff saying “I don’t like you” while I said can please try is there any room we can change. He said trip.com always show the photos with wrong room type and it is the problem of trip.com. He finally got a room and said it is “upgraded” but it is the same photos with our booking and makes more senses with 40 sqf. Too tired but just shown him directly the room description of our booking to demonstrate we are not asking for “upgraded” and he said he will let trip.com to remove the photos. Two towels and two toothbrush for 3 persons! 2nd day: Return the room at night, the house keeper can’t clean the room entirely and we found there are still some old stuff (not us) between the wall of bath tub and no one refill our toothbrush (but mix our toothbrush position for 3 of us). Two bath towels only. We tried to call around 11pm to request for another style of pillion and one more set of toothbrush, same as first night, called more than 5 mins and few times the line is cut by the other side. So next day, I threw away all the toothbrush but two toothbrush and bath towels only while we charged with 3 persons. No refill of face towel for 2 nights! The service is pretty bad since check in. The breakfast is the same with no variety for 3 nights and so so. First day , they forgot our coffee entirely and the second and third day, I need to show and repeat few times to a young man about sunny egg and he seems not know the english and keep asking can you how me the menu if it has that. We had been visited other hotels under the same brand which is the worst experience in terms of the service and cleanliness. I tried to login to provide the feedback just after my check out in the morning but found that the link is expired. Don’t book as it is not as good as other hotels under this brand if you expect the same service.

I stayed here again after six years and still found it to be okay. It was the same room type, and they told us they upgraded us again, just like last time. Hygiene: Good. Environment: Many attractions are within walking distance, and the surrounding area is very convenient. Service: Good. Although the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it was refined, and the restaurant staff were very friendly. I initially hesitated to book a second night after seeing some negative reviews, and ended up paying an extra 400 RMB! 😂😂😂😂 Honestly, besides the price, I think everything else about this hotel is flawless. It's a century-old building with a rich history. Downstairs, there are also restaurants, bars, and a theatre. It feels very upscale. The value for money is pretty good! 👍

My stay at Capitol Kempinski felt like an experience in 'mindful management' of an old building. While the historical structure places some limitations on the hardware, the design is excellent, striking a perfect balance between vintage charm and modern comfort. What truly impressed me was the service; the guest service team was incredibly responsive to all my requests, and the staff's thoughtfulness and professionalism elevated the entire stay significantly. Furthermore, in Singapore's humid weather, the convenient transportation was a lifesaver. It's just a few minutes' walk to the MRT, and there are numerous bus stops right downstairs, offering direct routes to almost anywhere, making sightseeing across the city efficient and stress-free.

Overall, the hotel was great. The cleanliness, ambiance, and service all exceeded my expectations, making for a very pleasant stay. The only minor drawback was the showerhead, but everything else was excellent.

The room facilities are complete and comfortable. It's in a great central location, making it easy to get to major attractions by taxi or subway. There are dining options right downstairs from the hotel and a mall nearby, which is really convenient for tourists. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building. The hotel's buffet is also excellent, offering both à la carte and buffet options. The food tastes great, the service is good, and you can even find famous Singaporean dishes there. I'm very satisfied with all aspects of the hotel.

The showerhead in the bathroom, which is built into the wall, was moldy and hadn't been cleaned. The biggest issue was the air conditioning vent in room 340. When the AC was on, there was a very loud vibrating noise that significantly affected sleep. If I hadn't been so exhausted from walking tens of thousands of steps every day on vacation, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at all. Honestly, if this were a business trip, I would have requested a room change on the first day. But since it was a family trip and we were all so tired every night, we just made do. The breakfast was excellent, the location was great, and the service was good.

I stayed for three nights, and it was a mixed bag, for your reference. Pros: 1. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly enthusiastic, and their English was great. The concierge service was also fantastic, whether it was at breakfast, in the hallways, or during check-in. 2. The room was very clean and comfortable. Drinking water was delivered daily, and there was a mini-bar with complimentary sodas and other items. If you wanted more, though, you had to pay extra. 3. The hotel's location is truly excellent. Taxis are readily available, and the City Hall MRT station (red and green lines), which I used frequently, is just across the street, about 200m away. Within a 10-minute walk, you can reach churches, the National Gallery, and museums. 4. The breakfast selection was decent, with both Asian and Western options. Before the meal, they always asked if I wanted coffee or tea. 5. The bedding was comfortable, neither too soft nor too firm, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. The water temperature was stable, making for a pleasant shower. Cons: 1. The hotel is built around a shopping mall. So, either your room faces inward towards the mall's windows, offering no view and being noisy until 10 pm, or it faces the street, offering a good view but with clear road noise from cars and motorcycles throughout the night. Since the entire building is only four stories tall, outside sounds are quite audible. 2. The hotel is older, and the drainage for the sink, bathtub, and shower was very, very, very slow.
