It was good choice for tight budgets like me. can't complain more. but i wish they had not forgotten my request to be changed the bed sheet.

Even though the place is clean and convenient, the stuffs weren’t flexible and helpful, you get reply to your message on their own convinces I had to extend my booking for more couple of day and I asked them if I could change the bed from the bottom to down but they refused even though they had available space plus if you are going to be late check in better to book other hotel room cause no one is going to let you in, or they are going to charge you extra.

My mixed-dorm room of 6 beds were located on the 4th floor, and I had to walk up with my luggage, as the dorm has no elevator. The room was clean and quiet, bed and quilt was comfy. Bathroom and toilets were enough and clean. The front desk receptionist was friendly and helpful.

I had a very wonderful stay at the Royal Hostel.. The place was really quiet, the room was so clean, smells good, had cold air conditioning, and had a good mattress which I like very much.. They also provides Body wash & with unlimited toilet papers..and the most important is they have Hot water shower.The Hostel is just beside the Chinatown MRT station, near Restaurants & Souvenir shops.. It's accessible to everything.. The staff in the Reception area was also very helpful & very accommodating .. She speaks good English because she is from the Philippines.. I will definitely come here again. and I will recommend Royal Hostel to my family & friends..

Nice staff but the room is so small. Location is good in Chinatown, you can buy souvenirs here.

Very convenient place to stay, just up the chinatown mrt stations. A lot of foods around and souvenirs shop. walking distances to the malls, like Chinatown point, OG and Peoples park. Walking distance to the temple. Very nice area.

Superior location right next to the metro entrance though no elevator in the metro nor in the hostel. Very clean hostel except the flooding from the shower. Negatives: Authentic old school Singaporean customer service.  The hostel rooms don’t have doors! So it is useless to book that 2 person dorm, only thing you get as extra is a working desk. Remember no doors. It is basically hall with rooms.  The air con is 1 metre away from your bed in two person dorm, on full throttle! You will freeze. Insane. The air con should be on the hallway. No space for luggage, good only if you travel with small trolley max. Other hostels are a lot better with same price, only benefit is extreme closeness to MRT metro.

Please keep in mind if you check in at late evening then no people . It means the staff will start work from 10:00 ~ 6pm?. So do not be surprised. And no call possible only wattsup when they are comfortable to check you. Disappointed. What should I do ???

Location is pretty strategic, located on the entrance of Chinatown MRT exit A. They have 2 buildings on the left and right of MRT entrance. But you won't have any trouble at all to look for it since the sign board is clearly seen from the MRT entrance. The reception area is on the left side building (more spacious and feels homey rather than the building I stayed). I stayed in the ladies only room (#4) on the right side building. So, if I need something or ask the staff, I have to go to the other building. The room, bed, linen are clean but they don't provide towel & toiletries. So you have to bring your own. And don't forget to bring padlock for your locker (big enough for 20-inches suitcase). Air conditioners in my room were working well and it's cooler because helped with 2 fans. The toilets are relatively smaller than the other building, but that's okay for me (hot water, tissue are provided). You can use the fridge, hair dryer, water, electric water jug, iron, outdoor patio together with other guests. The staffs are nice, friendly and helpful. Because it's Chinese New Year time, they even offer me home made yu sheng. Pretty nice flavor and experience. Overall, it was great experience staying in royal hostel.

1. Like the other comments, there’s bedbugs!! I started to have rashes all over my skin! 2. The hostel guests were not mindful of others. One told me to not shut the door all the way “because people keep going in and out.” My bed was right next to the door and it was left opened almost all the time. This made it very hot because the AC went out and made me feel unsafe at night. Another guest spoke loudly on her phone in side and right in front of the room. 3. When I told the hostel caretaker, she told me that she will do her best to inform others about shutting the door but she “can’t control them because sometimes [she doesn’t] see them and [are not] around.” The hostel apparently failed to implement basic security regulations.

1. There are bed bugs 2. Toilet is not clean 3. Wanted to change bed from upper to lower deck, requested for lower deck initially but was given upper deck. Then went to request for lower bed but manager said is fully book and cannot change. In the end, nobody else in the room except my friend who stay in the room.
