Argo Pension

I booked this room as another friend wished to join us at the (perfect) Tree Hotel, and this was nearest. What a mistake. The room was dated, furniture scruffy, bathroom rusty and in dire need of renovation. Worst of all was the smell of cat urine in the room, on the balcony and seeping into the hallway. There were flies swarming in the room and on the balcony and we didn't even unpack. Hardly slept and ended up sharing a room in The Tree with friends. My texts and communication with the "Manager" at the Akti Hotel did not elicit a response and we did not receive a refund for the week we paid. DO NOT book this pension.

I can’t really knock Argo apartments that much. We had the top room apartment with a balcony which was very nice and included sun beds and a big terrace. The bars below are probably the loudest on the island and the music goes on until 5am, but if you go to the pharmacy and ask for silicone ear plugs it does block it out well. I think some of the other reviews are over the top as you would expect noise from cocktail bars. What do you expect having a great view of the best place in the town. The cleaner was lovely and friendly and came each day to replace our towels and bins. For the price I think it was well worth it although if you don’t have the top floor I don’t think it will be as nice.
