Was really looking forward to my stay at the Kensington Hotel Seorak. But when I pay $263AU / night I have a certain expectation that a 4 star hotel will live up to the hype. The service at the check-in desk and in the restaurant was excellent. The hotel itself exudes 'history' and it was interesting spending time looking at the library, hallways and various displays on offer. The menus were adequate for our stay and we spent 29000KRW on the chicken and beer offer on the first night and the steak and wine (120000KRW) on the second night. Breakfasts were 29000KRW/pp or 10% off if you book at check-in were also value for money. However several aspects let the hotel down. Hot water was hard to get - I tried for an afternoon shower and again at midnight with no luck. Larger hotels in Korea tend to have central control over the air conditioning, so if you like a cool room you'll be out of luck by October?? Even having the small window open, and turning of the 'air conditioning, the room was stuffy. Having found a laundry bag and order form I was told that the hotel no longer offered that service. Disappointing. The towels were worn / frayed on the edges (they've passed their useabe date) and though the hotel room we were in had a great view the windows were so grubby it was hard to really enjoy the view. While I appreciate COVID has had an impact on the hotel industry generally, I'm pretty certain that the Kensington, with its views and proximity to Seoraksan, faired better than most. While I would stay here again I would like to think that for prime pricing the Kensington could up its game and ensure that such small issues were addressed.

Excelent location, ypu can walken to Seoraksan Park! The hotel os a little old but very functional and comfortable 👌 The staff is very helpful and competent, we absolutely recommend this Hotel!!

An exceptionally located nest for travellers visiting Seoraksan.. the best part about this place are the people who run the show.. Mr Lee Inwon and his family members.. very warm, hospitable, friendly people.. The guidance I received from them really made my trip absolutely worth it.. and I look forward to it again.. the sit out lounge reminds one of a family living room.. Thank you Mr Lee for such a wonderful experience

가족여행 다녀왔습니다 워터피아에서 아이가 7시간동안 놀았어요 하하 즐거운 2박 3일 직원분들도 친절하셨고 로봇도 사진 잘찍어 주더라구요 ㅋㅋ 시설도 좋았습니다 족발은 별로 였어요 사진은 방에서 직은 하늘입니다

오래된 리조트이지만 속초 및 고성 초입 관광하기 좋은 위치입니다. 욕실은 리모델링이 되어 있는데, 다른 시설도 리모델링이 시급해 보입니다. 특히 스프링이 그대로 느껴지는 침대는 좀 심하네요;;; 주위의 오래된 리조트들이 조금씩 리모델링을 하는데, 설악파인은 아직 그대로라 좀 아쉽네요. 그래도 온천물이 좋아서 코로나 이전에는 겨울에 종종 찾곤 했었는데, 코로나로 노천탕 이용을 못 해서 아쉽네요.

설악산 등산하면서 술마실 일정으로 차를 근처에 두고 움직여야 할 것 같아서 근처 숙소 알아보던중 켄싱턴호텔은 이비 주말은 불가능하더라구요 주변은 비슷비슷해보였고 후기가 좋은것 같아 골랐습니다. 사장님은 늘 바쁘셔서 잘 안보이셨지만 바쁘신 와중 전화도 빨리 받으셔서 친절하게 응대해주시고 편의도 많이 제공해주셔서 아쉬움이 없어요 처음에 같이간 친구도 켄싱턴 예약만료로 속초쪽 호텔로 하지 그랬냐고 했지만 숙소 분위기와 친절함 편의성 그리고 아침이랑 2층에 빵과 버터 잼 시리얼등으로 구비해두셔서 아침 즐기시는분들도 많았습니다. 저희는 너무 다른걸 많이먹어 즐기진 않았지만 정말 탁월한 제 선택과 안목에 만족한 여행이었어요 여기 사진보다 훨씬 숙소 분위기 좋은데 사진이 오히려 아쉽네요 화장실만 인테리어가 덜 되었을뿐이지 청결하고 깨끗하게 청소된 화장실이 무척 만족스럽습니다

리조트 시설도 깨끗하고 직원분들도 친절했구여, 사우나는 알칼리성 천연 암반수라 그런지 다른 온천보다 느낌이 좋았고 조식 한식당도 직원분 친절하고 맛도 괜찮았어요~
