The front desk person was incredibly polite and helpful to the extent that she was able to be. I'll say that, as it was probably the only positive thing about the hotel.
Unfortunately, the hotel was not up to standards, even for a budget hotel. My first room, the lights didn't work (at all). This was maybe a blessing in disguise, as it was surrounded by a noisy group of revelers in the parking lot upon my arrival.
I was moved to the other side of the hotel to a room that had a strange odor, reminiscent of disinfectant but somehow different. The bed was lopsided. The water pressure on the shower was barely a trickle (the tub and sink both had adequate pressure, though). No coffee maker, no cups. Regardless, I attempted to find some sort of solace.
At 4am, I was woken up by a Ford Econoline warming itself up right outside my door. At 6am, another vehicle decided to warm up (for 20 minutes) while blasting music.
All in all, if I ever have to stay in Somerset again, I'll take my chances at another hotel.
